Vijay, Shruti, Aahana etc...this seems to be a never ending issue...the subjective application of rules/CoC on this site. When the success of this site is dependent on the participation of its members, the same members should have a right to voice their concerns without the fear of being targeting by rogue DTs.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again...IF should have a general Code of Conduct that is applicable to all forums with clear guidelines provided to the DT on how to implement them. There is no need for secondary rules in each section. What we have now, however, is a bunch of broad statements that is complemented by each forum DT creating their own version that they then implement rather
subjectively. DTs should be objective. Of course as members, they have a right to their opinion but as a moderators, they need to be logical, clear and above reproach.
If one member has an issue, you can call it an anomaly but when there are so many raising similar issues, you have a problem on your hands. I do not know how you select the viewbies/moderators for the different fora but having been a member on this site since 2005, I can unequivocally say that it is flawed. Granted these are not paid positions but as the administrators of a site, it is your responsibility to select wisely. Right now,
it seems to be a club of people who get selected merely on the basis of who they know and not demonstrated merit.
Coming to the Bollywood section...as you well know, we seem to attract more trolls than your regular forum. Instead of handling issues like MIDs, harassment, member abuse etc., we have a team that is far more interested in banning a select few members. Things need to be rectified before it gets out of hand. For e.g. IP banning needs to be locked down...rational/logical moderators need to be appointed to manage the forum without bias etc. etc.
I hope you guys give this the serious attention it needs and consider the feedback you have received.
