hi guyz,
i m not saying that its a gud thing but IF should hav option 2 delete ur account/leaving IF membership(there can b many reasons)like any other high class website...
what u think?

Account deletion must be allowed. If not allowed then it results in account abuse.

I have seen posts by "IDs" but the profile says that they last logged in a year or even two years ago. This implies that IDs are being stolen and misused.

I see admins use these IDs to create fake posts, thereby giving an impression that people are logging into their forums. Fake posts are easy to identify ... a short one liner, or a couple of words. This is a violation of privacy. And this is plain wrong.

Fake IDs are also used to insult a member in case he has posted something the administrator(s) do not want to discuss. Why use fake IDs to warn a person? Isn't it appropriate to use their regular ID?

One other question - When I post a reply, the server logs my IP address and that is fine. What else is logged? We need to know. And who has access to that information? Can the forum administrator see it? I have no problem with the admin knowing my IP as long as the admin is discreet and does not share that information with friends. But how do I know that I can trust the forum administrator ?

I see people ask for fancy features. Yes, they would be nice to have. But if addition of features leads to compromise of security, then that is unacceptable.

IF is a great forum. But the Internet can be an unsafe domain. Please make user experience secure, friendly and fun.
