Tarini's wish is finally fulfilled, he gets the Darshan of his Lord, Narayan. And this feat was achieved by him at a small age, while many rishis and munis meditate for years together. Why? If the elders do not give them the support and direction to grow, then they will be bent and crooked. This is what happened to Tarini, no guidance resulted into his devotion becoming blind faith. And there is no going back, once a tree is crooked

On the day of Friendship, I would like to share a prayer glorifying the Friend of all, Shri Ram!

Shri Ramacandra kripalu bhaju, mana, harana bhava bhaya darunam

navakanja-lochana kanja-mukha, kara-kanja pada-kanjarunam

Kandarpa aganita amita chavi, navalnila niraj sundaram

His head bears the crown, ear pendants, tilak on forehead, his adorned, shapely limbs are resplendent, Arms extend to the knees, studded with bows-arrows, who won battles against Khara and Dooshana

Thus says Tulsidas, O joy of Shankara, and other sages, Reside in the lotus of my heart, O slayer of the vices-troops of Kaama and the like

Accepting what God gifts you, be it happiness or grief is for your own good. God is testing you, and asking you to match up to every test He lays in front of you.

Gantastic comparison between Maryada and Bandhan. That is why Ram is Maryada Purushottam. His calmness, His serenity, His compassion and love is what frees others of their troubles.

Very well written posts Gowri. Actually I liked your comparison of Tarini to Rishisringa. You hide the child from the world fearing something. But then that fear manifests. Today's parents try to over protect children without allowing them to experience the world the right way.

We try to make it easy and easy for the child, but when the child faces a simple test it cannot stand it. You have to have some challenges in life. A school exam is a challenge. Support the child to overcome it. Don't frighten it. If the child cannot take a simple paper written challenge whose syllabus is already available how will he or she face life which will throw challenges at every turn and you cannot cry out of syllabus

I couldn't write during weekend as I was busy around with things. But I had thought about Shiv Bhakthi and Narayan Bhakthi. What is the difference between them.

For that according to me we need to understand what they represent. Shiv represent destruction alone, so does Shakthi or Durga represent. Destruction. It means that in a man or woman who is alone ego rules, they believe they alone can run the world. It is basically whether it is masculine or feminine, the energy is towards selfishless, towards self centered existence. Egoistic existence.

What does Narayan stands for. He stands for sustenance. And Narayan is never alone. He is called Sreedhar. Or rather Sree ko dharan karnewala. Sree or Lakshmi in all forms is always with Narayan. Narayan along with Lakshmi highlights coexistence. Destruction of ego. Together they destroy what is bad, and preserve what is good.

To go on a destruction rampage is easy. But to decide what to destroy, what to preserve is a difficult task. You need the right knowledge. Narayan destroys your ego. He makes you learn the coexistence.

Actually if you understand Narayan you will under Shiv in real form. Detached. Ego less. He has Shakthi with him, yet he lives a pristine life in Kailash with his family surrounded by all kind of animals, respecting the nature.

Narayan with Lakshmi teases you with Maya, teases you with bandhan. But if you understand his Maya, you will understand life, you will be responsible with power and wealth.

If you just go behind Shiv without understanding Moh Maya you are after a theory. Because Shiv has only destroyed Moh, but he has accepted Prem. Shiv is tied by Shakthi's Prem ka bandhan, yes he bows in front of it. But you cant tie him with pushban of lust.

To understand this, you have to understand Moh, you have to understand Maya. For that you have to understand Narayan. You have to understand life.

Yes, parents, in an attempt to protect their kids trap them in a web of confusion. And yes, Narayan and Shiva are inseperable, and the Vaishnavas and Shaivites don't understand. If you run after only one, then you will reach no where. But, if you are devoted to both, then you'll reach the goal of your life.
