@eternal sorry I keep forgetting your name thanks for explaining your experience in Sabarimala. You bought a beautiful point. Ayyappan being a yogi. See I wanted to put this aspect yesterday itself, but didn't get time. Though I have heard about from my mom about the ardous trek and 41 day vrat, actually it was my husband who made me see Sabarimala in a different light when we discussed about it. He told Ayyappan is a Yogi and the men when they worship him or take the 41 day vrat they are learning to control their carnal desires which he believes men has more difficulty in controlling than women. That vrat is a form of self discipline for men. Once they take it regularly once a year and take that ardous trek, they will learn the purpose of life, will be more committed towards duties. And a man who is running a household has to be focused in performing his duties towards his family, society and also to the Gods. And this is possible only with a disciplined lifestyle. When the man of the house follows a disciplined lifestyle the family also will be disciplined. The problem of today is the so called Grihastrami men are not doing their duty properly, not taking accountability and are indulging in all kind of vices. And women in the name of copying men are doing the same vices.
My husband I guess has visited Sabarimala only once or so that too as a child. But he does the pooja of saligrama daily at home. That also he tells he is doing not as a ritual but more of a self discipline activity. As to do that pooja you should not eat non veg, no smoking, no drinking, no food before pooja is over. So for him that pooja is the Lakshman Rekha of self discipline. To me that explanation seemed the most rational one of all I have heard on why that vrat, and journey is kept for Sabarimala. And why Lord Ayyappan is called Kaliyug varadha and why is he is the son of Hari and Hara ie Vishnu and Shiva.Men in Kaliyug may indulge in all type of vices. So visiting him by doing the vrat as prescribed he helps men to destroy the evil in them ( Shiva stands for destruction) and the redeem the good so as Grihasthashrimis they can sustain the world in proper manner( As Vishnu is for sustenance)

@Charvi very nice perspective prakriti covering sanskriti, you gave me a good point in my thought process. Because what I saw in that scene was not just Luv-Kush but something more. Yes what was visible was Luv-Kush and Sita.
But something else caught my attention. See Ram once again carries Sita, tends to her hands and they sleep together, she keeping her head on his shoulders. Once again the phase after Agnipareeksha. It is Ram who carries her through it and then the joyous moments looked to me their blissful time in Ayodhya post vanvass. Then when Sita wakes up hot sun is blazing at her, she is alone and there is Ram's angavastra on her. Sita tries to shield herself from sun and Ram stands in between his shadow covering her. What Sita is facing is the heat from the praja of Ayodhya. The tradition, the parampara and Ram's shadow shows that once again Ram will defend her. Shadow is always for defense. The angavastra is Sita's pregnant condition as when Ram asks it she refuses to give it back. She cannot give it and that angavastra is her solace or the child you can say, as we see she cleaning it, drying it happily. It shows her happiness in taking care of the child which is Ram's Nishaani for her. Or rather Prakriti taking care of Sanskriti's gift to it.And the final draping. Once the kids are grown up, she has done the duty, she gives Sanskriti back what it has given her. Now Sita is Prakriti without Sanskriti once she hands over the kids to Ram. To me it felt like the final good bye. She has come from Prakriti, interacted with Sanskriti and going back to Prakriti giving back to Sanskriti whatever it has given her. The supreme nature, which only gives.
