Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 recently went viral after 10-year-old contestant Ishit Bhatt from Gujarat faced criticism for his behaviour toward host Amitabh Bachchan. The young student, who was accused of being “rude” during his episode, has now issued a heartfelt apology, saying his actions were misunderstood and stemmed from nervousness.
In a public note shared online, Ishit wrote, “I got nervous, and my attitude came out completely wrong. It wasn’t my intention to be rude. I respect Amitabh Bachchan sir and the entire KBC team deeply.”
He admitted that appearing on the national platform was overwhelming and that he has learned from the experience. “It taught me how words and actions can reflect one’s character, especially on a national platform like KBC,” he said, adding that the criticism helped him understand the importance of humility and respect.

Viewers expressed mixed reactions — while some felt he came across as arrogant, others argued that he was simply a child reacting under pressure.
After days of online trolling, Ishit took full accountability for his behaviour. “I promise to be more humble, respectful, and thoughtful in the future,” he wrote, referring to himself as “the ‘arrogant’ kid on KBC.” He also said, “I deeply regret if my words or tone hurt anyone. I was nervous and didn’t realise how it came across.”
Many social media users have since praised his maturity in acknowledging his mistake. Public figures like singer Chinmayi and cricketer Varun Chakravarthy came forward in his defence, reminding people that children deserve empathy, not harsh judgement. “He’s just a kid learning how to handle pressure,” wrote one user, echoing similar sentiments shared by others online.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, continues to air on Sony Entertainment Television from Monday to Friday at 9 PM, with episodes also available for streaming on SonyLIV.
