LOL this serial reminds me of

All the 80's/90's movies where there was a saree clad pati vrata Patni doing Pooja for her husband while husband was busy sleeping with some one else . Patni used to come to get the husband but husband would be like get out. Then husband would fall very sick , patni doing her patni dharam would do his seva despite everything 😡 and then husband would realise my wife is so great 😭 I have wronged her. Doesn't this remind you of this serial ? Mauli not being able to get over her ex because other than ex pati she can't love any one else even though he has done everything a horrible husband would except physical abuse, Mauli selflessly doing Ex husband's seva even getting into an accident for him, Dida telling Kunal despite everything Mauli did so much seva of yours and then the ex going I am sorry Mauli. 😭 . I just think we went back 20-30 years with this serial. Even Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani which was like 300 years ago had more self respect than Mauli . I love when she tells her husband I would have given you my life but you took away my self respect. 👏 👏 . I will never forget this . And she does love her husband but she loves her self respect more. Also in Bahubali when the FL tells the ML that I will walk with you till ends of the earth but will not leave my self respect and go with you as a prisoner again self respect over love. 👏 Wish Mauli was like that but I guess not.

I always think about this when I watch the show. For me, absolutely no. The only time I worried about Mauli's self respect was when she was begging Kunal to be with her and she was still desperate to be with him. Didn't hold it against her although I definitely didn't agree with it.

Coming to the over all track I think Mauli is exactly like Kashi Bai. She didn't run to Kunal's arms to be with him or put up with his drama. She did give him out of my bedroom treatment. After the leap, even after realizing time and time again she had feelings for Kunal she chose to move on. She did everything right. She didn't keep in touch with him. She cut him off. She chose to marry another man. She left Kunal out of Mishti's life. Kashi Bai continued to love Bajirao and stood by him when he needed her, she just cut off the romantic relationship. Mauli did the same. Mauli loves Kunal. It would've been so easy to just give in and be with him. She always held herself back.

It's different than those wives who wait and do seva for the husband hoping one day they will come back to them. She chose to marry someone even being in love with someone else. That's two timing for me. And if she got committed to someone., that person deserved her 100% commitment which she didn't give. That's her failure as a character. She was not strong enough.
