Sourab glared at Soumya who is resting on a bed in ward, he marched towards her and dumped a load of files on her bed , she looked at him in confusion and he smiled " Since you are doing nothing, can you sort these out."
Soumya shrugged and nodded , she winced as her head hurt a little bit and Sourabh glared at her even more "Hey, it doesn't look like a big injury, why are you doing a lot of fuss. You are obviously very much conscious and fine looking now."
Soumya shook her head "May I know your name?"
Sourabh rolled his eyes "Khanna! Sourabh Khanna. Guess you heard my name."
Soumya frowned in confusion "How will I hear you name? Last time I checked you are not a celebrity or some such thing"
Sourabh tried to speak some thing but Soumya didn't even look at him and opened files to sort through them.
Maria came there and looked at Soumya sorting through case files and glared at Sourabh "Doctor, Chief gave special orders that Dr.Goyal should be left to rest.May be it will be better if you do your work by your self."
Sourabh gave her a dirty look "Be in your limits Nurse. I know what to do."
Soumya smiled apologetically at Maria "Its okay Sister. I can manage. I will get bored if I stay idle for a long time. " She looked at Sourabh who left from there and tried to console an obviously hurt Maria.Maria smiled "In every batch I deal with interns like him. No problem."
Soumya spoke hesitatingly "I know its wrong of me to ask, but can you not report him. He is still in adjusting stage I guess."
Maria shrugged and left from there as Soumya continued to do her work. She got a call from her mom and she panicked a bit "Hello Maa"
"Somu beta, did you eat?"
"I did Maa.. Hows every thing going on there."
"Its going on fine. So hows every thing with you. Did your dad come? I asked him to deliver you lunch"
"Maa there's no need for that. I am fine. Anyway I am a bit busy , I will call you later. You please do focus on your conference."
She smiled as her mom reluctantly cut phone, her mom is indeed over protective, but she has the right to.. Soumyas smile faded as she remembered about what her mom has to endure in her childhood... however her face immediately brightened as she saw her phone blinking "Hello Dad"
"Where are you pumpkin? I am searching for you all through the hospital"
Soumya laughed "You would have rather called me to ask me where I will be earlier. I am in ED dad"
She can hear some one laughing from other side of phone " Lolz serves you right getting tougher one on the very first day. I will be there in five minutes."
She left a big sigh "Don't panic as you come here." She can hear a snort on other side of phone as the phone offed and she groaned as she laid on her bed waiting for her dad .
He did come with in his said time of five minutes and she would have laughed at the look on his face seeing her as patient if not for the reason that look is directed at him , he blinked for a moment before he rushed to her bed "What happened to your head? Why are you here on patient bed?"
Soumya looked at him smiling, her father is really best she spoke calmmly "Relax dad, I just got a minor injury... I am fine okay"
He looked at the files on her bed "You are working in this condition? Where's your chief I need to speak with him?"
"I too would like to know that Miss. Goyal" Soumya startled and looked at Harman standing there at the bed and she tried to stand up but a strong hand of Nipin stopped her and she stammered "Si..S..Sir"
He crossed his arms and looked at her sternly "What did I say you Miss. Goyal? Did you even know how much I had to work to treat you today? I can clearly understand that you doesn't have a clear regard for your health but atleast try to appreciate the hard work your doctor did for you."
She mumbled a silent apology but Harman glared at her and Harman continued to glare at her " I heard you speaking to your father fine just five minutes ago, or amn't I mistaken?"
She spoke normally closing her eyes tight " I am sorry sir, but I got bored sitting idle... thats why I asked to do the files."
Harman took away files from her and called for nearest intern which happened to be Sourabh "Don't you even know how to do your work properly? "
Sourab spoke not understanding the situation 'Sir but she is also an intern"
Harman growled "Are you a idiot, she is not in duty she is a patient can't you even see that. She is an off duty patient who has not yet joined her duty. So treat her like that.Take them away and do your work by your self. " Sourabh took them away from there silently and Soumya looked so down. All this while Nipin stood aside observing the commotion and after Sourabh left he cleared his throat " Doctor ! I am Soumyas father, may I know what happened to her."
Harman looked at him and his demeanor changed to soft "Sorry for the commotion Mr.Goyal. Miss Goyal had a laceration on head which unfortunately involved a major vein on head... so there's a lot of blood loss and we has to suture it. But she will feel dizzy and week for a while, and we are evaluating her for any internal injuries to brain and also any skull fractures. So she will need to stay for 2 days."
Nipin nodded and spoke " A small request if you don't mind."
Harman nodded "Whether I mind or not depends on what your request is sir.. tell me."
Nipin shrugged "Actually let this girl do some work, if not she will truly get mad. Let her atleast deal with some paper work please. If not then atleast tie her to bed and sedate her so that she won't drive your staff mad. "
Soumya gasped and pinched her father from aside, but Harman looked at him stunned " You are the first person I have ever seen who asked her daughter to do some work when she is injured.Its really strange."
Nipin laughed "I am saying this because I know my daughter Doctor. Don't worry I will make sure she won't exert herself."
Soumya buried her head into her hand groaning and Harman looked at her worried "Are you feeling any pain Ms.Goyal?"
Soumya shook her head "No, its more like a groan of embarassment. I have no pain sir."
Harman nodded and then went to Interns desk to get a pile of files and kept them infront of her... "If you truly want work, you have to do all these files Miss.Goyal"
Soumya looked at those files mouth open , then at Harman who is smirking at her... "I will do them sir. Don't worry"
Harman looked at her shocked before his face became blank of emotion "See that you do them by to night Miss.Goyal" He didn't even glance at apparently laughing Nipin before leaving from there.
Soumya glared at Nipin "Paapa, will you stop."
"Why should I? Finally came across a guy who can shock you. So shall I help you?"
Soumya shrugged "Get me some clothes from home na... and if possible hide it from Mummy"
Nipin nodded "Your mother is over protective as it is... I will not tell her, if I do she will not even let you out of house."
Soumya nodded "Mum has right to be over protective. You do know that na"
Nipin nodded seriously " I do. Don't worry I won't let your mom know... So what type of clothes should I bring"
Soumya shrugged "Some thing casual yet formal. They will normally be in the upper compartment of the cupboard beside mirror. They are already kept in sets. Just grab two sets."
Nipin smiled "Your order makes my life a lot easier... I am glad I got a daughter who doesn't use a bag of cosmetics. It would have been tougher to hide your cosmetics bag from your mother if you use them"
Soumya made a strange face at him " I am not interested in polluting my skin. Anyway please come back soon na."
"Yup, you make sure to eat some thing from that package your mother sent. "
'I will dad, now bye"

She came out from the deep trance of work as her phone ringed, seeing it as Aish she brightened up "Hi darling... whats up?"
"Su, what happened to you, uncle said you became a patient in the very ward you are supposed to work"
"A small injury, nothing to worry. How did your exam go?"
"It went fine dear.. As usual"
"Thats nice darl, so how about that info I asked you?"
"Arey main ne poocha tha mere cousin ko... that day had been a masquerade, and with dress code do you think its easy to say about a guy with his mask on wearing a black suit which happened to be dress code. " Soumyas face fell and she became silent "Don't be down darling, if you are enquiring for him, he will be enquiring for you too.. Unless he is one of our friends he can't recognise a girl who is wearing mask with dress code. Di said if any one is enquiring such way, she will tell me" Soumya smiled "Thanks Dear, you are a life saver you know"She heard a chuckle from other side of phone with promise that she will come to visit her in evening.

"Harman yaar, are you mad? You want me to get to know of a girl wearing a dress with mask in my wedding. Are you freaking kidding me? Do you know how many girls are there at venue?"
Harman rolled his eyes "She has a small scar on her forehead and her eyes are dark brown. She is from brides side. Now will that be enough"
"Why Harman you are getting interested in a girl? Isn't that unlike of you?"
Harman looked far away "She made me feel for first time in ages. Apparently theres some bond between us. I want to meet her "
"Harman please don't be rash, you know how your parents are... You don't need to irritate them more than necessary."
Harman glared at his friend "I know how my parents are... At the same time they also know how I am. They won't be surprised. Please get me her details."

Harman stood there glaring at Soumya who is sleeping with piles of files scattered around her... Why this girl is this much stub born? He prayed gods for patience and signalled a near by internee to come there , however it turned out to be Surbhi "Yes Chief?"
"Take all those files away from her bed and let her rest... She should not be stressed at all and also give her a sedative so that she can rest for remaining day.." Surbhi nodded making a note in her book and he continued "By the way I want these files sorted out by tomorrow morning, see to it" Surbhi gaped at him "But Chief.. its impossible to do as such.. it will take a lot of time ." Harman glared at her " Don't worry Ms.Kaur, your make up time alone will suffice to do it. Do it at any cost."
Surbhi sighed "Yes chief. "
Just then Nurse came there in a hurry not looking at Harman " Miss.Kaur, your father came for you." Surbhis eyes ligtened and looked at Harman who is glaring at her " Sir, can I go please"
Harman folded his hands "Pray tell why your father came here Miss.Kaur"
Surbhi shook his head "He came to look me working sir.My father always dreamt of making me a doctor."
Harman sighed "You are not yet a doctor Miss.Kaur atleast till you complete your internship, and these visits are not allowed so you can't go."
Surbhi looked at him angrily "But you allowed Soumyas father to visit her?"
Harman raised his eye brow " she is a patient here being treated for a severe head injury, are you one too? I doesn't know tthat you are a patient here as well. So stop comparing and go to work... You can meet your father during break time."
