Okay, here comes my side of the story...😆
Alright, so I was in my Psychology class and from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, eastern time and had my phone with my other SIM card in it, not the one I recently bought, so I obviously didn't receive Tejesh's text message. 😆 After lecture was over, I had to go speak to my professor for some things which took some time and then when that was over, I was walking out of the building and remembered that I was supposed to receive a call from Tejesh. It was exactly 11 AM then and I looked at my phone for any missed calls and then realized like five minutes later that I had to change my SIM or else I wasn't going to receive calls. So I started working on that all the while thinking that I might have missed the call and was thinking, "Oh man, if I call back, I'm gonna be losing money...I'll just forget about it; talk some other time." 😆 Still, I inserted the new SIM and checked if there was missed call...there wasn't (and oddly no text either)...until like a minute later, my phone started belting out the lyrics of Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling." 🤣 Typical Indian phone number was displayed on the screen of my mobile and I hesitated for a long moment, wondering whether I should pick up or not.😳😆 Finally, flipped the phone up, thereby accepting the call and said, "Hello?"
I smiled when a disembodied male voice on the other end with a hint of Indian accent spoke up and said, "Hello? Hello?"😆
I said, "Yes, hello?"😃
And he responded a bit politely, "Hello? Is this Rupinder?"😕😆
I was taken aback for a moment by the polite tone and the fact that he used my other name and even literally went d'oh with my hand going up to gently slap my forehead.😆 Feeling mischevious (and seriously getting my characteristic Cheshire grin on), I replied, "Yes, heey. Pairi paina Uncle Ji [very formal Punjabi greeting to older male strangers or real uncles by young boys]." and then burst out laughing. 😆
But dumbo obviously didn't hear anything but the "Yes, heeey" part so my inside joke was wasted on him.😡😆 Although I did mention to him a bit into the conversation that I said that but he even misheard that judging from what he wrote in his side of the story. Then pretty much the conversation went on like he wrote out already (OMG, you remembered most of it...I even forgot some of the parts you wrote, LMAO). He even called me dumb over the phone so I took revenge on him when he asked me how did he sound to me and I told him he sounded Guyanese. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣He was silent for a bit and I was like, "You know what Guyanese is, right?"🤣 cause I didn't want my leg-pulling wasted again. He was like, "Yeah, I do..." and he trailed off and went a little silent again, probably a bit speechless and unhappy with the thought.🤣 Meanwhile I was trying so hard not to laugh like crazy. And then I think I switched the topic because i was dying to laugh but also wanted to hold it in. 😆
By the end of 72 minutes, I was getting serious hunger pangs and my stomach was grumbling too much so I told him that I was starving and wanted to go eat (I didn't get bored, dumbo). He was like, okay, go ahead and then we argued for a bit who was going to update the convo before finally hanging up. 😆When I shut the phone off, two or three minutes later my phone buzzed and it told me I received a text message from Tejesh. I was like, "We just hung up and already a message? lol" Opening it, I saw that it said, "Is this UD? Tejesh here. Take this as a test message." Food deprived me was like, "Uhhh...what?!" Then I realized this must be the message he was talking about over the phone and I texted back. And OMG, before the conversation had started, I had fully charged mobile but after 72 minutes, my battery was discharged like 90%. I only had two bars of battery life left. 😆
Also, throughout the entire conversation, I was walking around my school campus from either the park to some buildings to shopping areas, etc, etc. 😆 Wherever I went there was noise pollution and so it was incredibly hard to hear Tejesh's voice because it was already coming out very tiny through my phone and I was straining most of the time to hear. So I thought maybe I'd tell him to speak much slower and drag out his words so I can at least make out half of each word and be able to hear what he's saying. I even told him to shout and he laughed at that. Like Tejesh also mentioned, I spoke in Hindi and was very suprised to hear that it was good, especially from someone whom I always ask for translations and help in Hindi from. So I kinda got speechless and lamely said, "Aww, that's sweet of you. Thanks." I was just too suprised. 😳😆
But overall, I had so much fun. Tejesh didn't sound Guyanese 🤣; rather he did sound Indian because of his small accent...but for the most part, he sounded like from America too. Like a desi. He was a bit polite but thankfully not so formal, particularly when he was calling me UD and we were arguing about that in Hindi...then it totally sounded like us on IF. His voice was also clear but it was the phones that I was having issues with. And oh my, we seriously talked like we were never going to talk again...like, seriously, we were interrupting each other so many times (mostly me) because the conversation was just so interesting so we would often interject to say stuff in response and when we started talking at the same time over each other, we would then suddenly become quiet for a minute, waiting for the other to finish what they wanted to say and then I'd apologize for being mannerless and interrupting him.😆 And he was cool with it too. Oh speaking of being cool with it, he was also such a good sport when I teased him for being old. He's not really that old, and actually sounds quite young, but since I call him old here too oftentimes, I said it there too and then thought it may have been too rude but he laughed along. 😳😆
So yeah, that was pretty much it. There were so many other things I had in mind to talk about but my hunger was taking over my brain (my mind seriously wanders when I get hungry) so I didn't want to start another topic and not be able to keep up with it. So maybe save those for another day.😆 But ya, it was sooo much fun. I was already a very talkative person and Tejesh just kept providing enough fodder for me to go on and on and on. It was crazy. 🤣We teased each other, said some serious stuff, laughed a lot, and basically killed our batteries. 😆

How I felt? She asked me to say all good things. So here u go:
I liked her voice. She has got a very sweet voice must say very pleasing to the ears😆(I am not being sarcastic here)
She is very sweet, polite and totally opposite of what she is on IF..I mean she tried hard I guess to behave well on the phone. Par bak bak toh vaise hee karti hai jaise IF pe...I guess we both could have actually continued talking till one of our battery died..so that itself shows how much bak bak we are capable of and we are never short of words.😆
I didn;t feel much of a difference on the phone..It was similar to what we do on IF but ya in a more polite way😆 and about her dumbness guess I was wrong..She is a smart lady..but u know Ekta I love calling u UD so I won't stop😆
Thanks Mayee for being such a patient listener and I hope you had a good time too talking to me.
Aww, scho schweet. 😳😆 You don't have a sweet voice 😆 but you were sweet despite claims of planning to be rude to me. 😆 And I have to thank you more for being a patient talker especially since I kept telling you to speak louder and whatnot...I thought I probably might have irritated you a bit with that. 😆 But ya, like I said, I had a lot of fun...would've continued if it hadn't been for hunger. 🤣
I was just too charming that you had to be sweet to me. 🤣🤣🤣
