I have a few misgivings in your analysis of Kumud.
Kumud shouldn't have said "she loves you so much" instead "she's still fixated on you".
I agree. Poor writing is the hallmark of the current set of writers. Instead of 'asakti', 'vimoh', 'deewanapan', 'grast'...they go with 'pyar'!
But she is still plagued by her largesse in love syndrome from the day she'd asked him to marry Kusum. Today, she asks him to leave. If Kusum hadn't been married to Danny, she'd still have suggested him to marry Kusum! And that is exactly what is exasperating to see from Kumud, instead of acknowledging her sister's feelings as lust (she's probably see through the femme fatale erotomanic avatar of Kusum and is in denial that her pyaari sister could turn into a monster), she calls it love quite conclusively even after S refutes that it's infatuation of the first order!
There are elements of taking ownership, responsibility, 'I broke it, so I will fix it' to her character.
Additionally, she is a fearless Ms I Just Do Things.
However, the earlier Kumud had a very clear moral compass of what's right and what's wrong...the earlier kumud would never have missed out the innate wrong of this entire farce..
But then TVTs beckon and (i) the current Kumud is a mere fragment of the old kumud. (ii) they will milk the situation for what's its worth...the character integrity be damned.
"Ergo her acceptance of Saras solution in the fabulous scene which follows...Not a single peep out of Ms Kumudsundari the entire time"
Whenever S corners and gives a lengthy lecture on her flawed notions, she happily submits herself and even listens intently like a diligent student (eg: The talk in which S says nobody can separate us, not P, Kusum, you or me) but flunks during the real final exam day. Saras is selfish in his love and she very well knows it. Shunning him away is one of the better solutions to this problem but not really a good one considering the higher scheme of things.
"Power (never) takes a back step...only in the face of more power." Malcolm X
The only one who can go eyeball to eyeball with Ms. Kumudsundari and come out winning is Mr. Saras Vyas. Both are strong headed, intelligent and highly opinionated individuals. I had made an analogy long CBs ago...they are like a falcon and an eagle...so different yet so similar. This is what had made the show so different and endearing in its peak.
But TVTs ka Jamana Hai...Masala kaise laye? I also feel that saras is now the fixed locus of this story...and kumud will be the jello character...so this is to ne expected! đ
Just you watch and see...They will make her move back from this decision under some utterly ridiculous reasons in coming weeks.
I have been noticing JW's (I mean Kumud's) body language a little too much lately and this is what I've come up with. Whenever Saras said "I could have kept your sister 'happy' for awhile..." she flinched with disgust as though how could this be coming from her man? Kudos to Jenny for expressing these subtleties masterfully. But her words completely contradict her 'actions'! Maybe the director is hell-bent upon portraying her as an indecisive(giving contrasting body language and dialogues) damsel in distress? In short, her body language screams "I love you Saras" but her words, not at all. That's exactly why SC demands it, "announce it to the whole world that I'm for you and vice versa"
The clear-cut solution is this: She, as an elder sister, must sit with Kusum and explain what 'love' is. If she truly respects her love for Saras, she must be ready to do it even a million times without getting tired and take her sister to the therapist first and foremost.
Why don't these TV show makers believe in alcoholic rehab centers and therapy clinics? Oh I know, they are easy and optimal solutions with no scope for melodrama. Sigh...
Agree. And same comments as the last one...Kumud is the flip-flopper
