If the CVs want to project her love as devotional reverence, then I bet they are doing an effin' awful job in bringing life to their intentions. And Shiny even worse.

The love between SaMud has been nourished through time and effort by both the parties and Kusum *knows* having witnessed everything first hand. Forming such feelings for an ex-jija is still wrong on so many levels. That's the reason why Sasum is earning all the lampoon.
Vee, my friend, how come you're awake?😆

celebrating finishing my thesis on a good, fine, Saturday night 🤣
I could ask you the same thing, Shrija! 😆

I feel like, now that the show has reached this stage, that a saga like this will only bring out the deformities of Kumud's character even more (and for those speculating, I said Kumud, NOT Jennifer, so don't get confused again please!) People in the real world do date their brother or sister's ex. It's normal, even a few of my own friends have done it. I feel like they're actually showing something normal for once. We are yet to see how they handle this track further, but so far, everything seems pretty magically realistic as it usually does for me, Shrija. So I don't really understand the hate because it's not like the track even progressed enough yet to hate properly... 😕

exactly i m not in favor of degrading anyone.. I also agree that Kumud fianlly spoke up & stood for herself & i m happy for her that she finally showed the courage(though i thought she was strong enough to do it before too,but still ..) .. then Saras saying No to Kumud & then staying in her in-law's house only was right(as he was there to help his love) .. everything is JUSTIFIED when it is about main leads of the show .. but as soon as it comes to Kusum, she is cheap, lusty & so many thing! gosh how come anyone of this genaration say so?i mean what is bad in lust?when Kumud consummate before marrying Saras it was divine & now when Saras is touching Kusum & she is feeling tickled inside..BUT she is not allowed to show any reaction .. this is lust all on a sudden .. i felt really insulting as a women coz this is how a women is being degraded coz her character is not the main lead..??? ... If Kusum is not then how come Kumud is allowed to hug Saras & living under same roof (while in process of divorce) .. this is nto bad at all .. but Kusum is bad! so disheartening it was !

Hey..Jes...🤗

got to know many things from ur reply...

Kusum being a normal teenage girl, she has every right to lust, love, feel tickled when touched or even at the sight of this handsome hunk like saras...

Many agreed that PMS was not a sin and it was divine because they were in love

.Kusum has every right to fall in love with Saras...Bas !!

I havent read the novel but saw the movie multiple times and the movie was much more closely based on the novel than this show. If you have read the novel, obviously your views might be correct and mine wrong.
So in my POV, Sasum as a jodi was not given any importance in the novel till the end/climax. There is one scene in the beginning where Saras mistakes Kusum for Kumud. In the show the exact opposite was shown.
This scene we are talking about is an attempt and a poor one by makers to 'connect the story to the original. In the original, Kumud gives up her future with Saras in the end even when she has a a slight opportunity to move ahead because of prevailing social structure/customs etc. We are talking about 19th/early 20th century.
I do not want to comment on the scene and like you said there might be people who genuinely liked the scene. And some who like it because of other reasons like lack of so called chemistry between main leads. I think then its chemistry between 'Gautam and Shiny' more than Saras and Kusum. Because Saras thought it was Kumud as a moment ago Kumud was standing there and he didnt lift his head to see who it was.
So, I dont think this so called 'jodi' has to be viewed from a perspective of novel. Saras of this show is very different from the novel. The show hardly resembles the novel at this point of time.

Hello, Pasumarthisa ji! 😊

firstly, thanks lots for your input! I really appreciate it 😃

If we talk in terms of present day, as you mentioned, I still think this is normal. If you refer to the brilliant, Jes' post (first one on page 2) she describes how it's so unfair how everything is considered okay as long as it's between the lead pair. I mean, there is an extent to which I can agree with you, that it could be the chemistry between the main leads, but personally, I find that okay, too.

The makers are the reason why I loath the SaMud jodi now, so I'm inclined to go with that point. However, I just find it so unrealistic how if Kusum is infatuated with her sister's ex-boyfriend (which actually happens a lot these days by the way... dudes date sisters, girls date bros) it's a huge problem, but if Kumud has sex with Saras, it's called devotion.

I mean, what? Just because she's the female lead? Really? So, Kusum's supposed to be just shoved to the side and made insignificant yet again? 🤔

No dude, it's Sunday morning😆 2:15 AM! I am sitting at school for a project write-up. Sad sad life

Well, this is fiction! Having sculpted a love story between SaMud, this kind of fugly move by the Cvs out of the blue is...hmm, fugly😉 Frankly, I hate such people who go out with sister's ex, so it's a personal opinion here I guess. So yeah, let's just wait for the CVs to weave their dark magic and then pound and pelt them with stones if they derail from uniting Samud😆

EDIT: I didn't watch Friday's episode, but going by the description, they brutally Killed Saras for me by making him mistake Kusum for Kumud. It's just sheer and monstrously crude way of showing Kusum's feeling for Saras by CVs.

Tidbit: My granny has read the novel and guess what, she ranks Kumud much higher than Saras. In fact, she hates the ending in the novel.

Lee Di 🤗 how r ya? 😳 long time! :)

oh yah,i m in mood of writing thesis 🤣
actually my point is,when Kumud is allowed, then why not Kusum? .. & NOT TO FORGET Kusmu never tried to interfere SaMud,if she has .. then i wld say she is grey..but what he has done???Saras only touched her & when Saras saw her face,he felt embarrassed coz he was also living them moment with her (passion was easy to be seen) & for kind information LUST doesn't require any face,it simply needs body .. so does Saras enjoyed the moment .. so Saras is also lusty? but none is saying that .. bcoz nobody is talking abt logics here at all .. :/

& main what is bad in even loving ur Jija???plz tell me unless u try to seduce him! 😆 why she can't adore a man who is good enough to be her dream man! if LOVE is so divine..then why not in case of Kusum??? 😕

Oh my goodness, why, why still at school child? It would have been 2am but, now it's 1am because of daylight savings... phirse bach gayi 🤣

I also hate people who use the excuse of feminism to sell cupcakes for a dollar for men and only 75 cents for women... and that happened a lot in this show when Kumud was with Pramad. 😆 Yeah they screwed the show up... and then the forum 😆 fugliness all around! 😳

I don't even care who unites. I just like to point out double standard. 😊 Kusum is a person too, and that's all that matters to me 😳

I am not saying whether its ok or right wrt Kusum. I have my own views. But this jodi is nowhere in the novel is what I was trying to say.
Again, I see that there are completely different views here. And the reasoning given is so different too. Difference of opinion is always there and respected.
I dont think its a case of 'main leads' vs 'others'.

Omg, so much happened here! 😲

Mirchi lagi, sach mein mirchi lagi forum walon ko, you'll see the side effects 😆

Why do everyone point out it was a one sided love, when kusum loves Saras? Saras has been loving Kumud all these days with her married to another guy and her hating him,..wasn't it a one sided love then? I know Kumud and Saras had been in love before, but not since Kumud married Pramad.

The other thing is how could it be considered it as a disgusting act when kusum fell in love with Saras? Saras is one single handsome hunk who wanders around kusum almost 24/7, and she too is single. Why can't she has the right to fall in love?

When it comes to Kumud, doing PMS with someone and getting married to another one is just a normal thing, but when it comes to kusum she has no right to fall in love? 😕

Consider yourself, for you being a girl and a handsome hunk like Saras doing everything for you and your family, will you be able to control your feelings? Be sensible people!

Vee, I was a SaMud fan, but no more! From the point where Saras has been punished for what he didn't deserve, I gave up on that couple. I'd be more than happy to see Saras and kusum together. They look beautiful together!

In real life, its very rare to fall for a man who is clearly and deeply love with your own sister.Kusum knows how much Kumud loves saras and what they meant for each other. She witnessed the intensity of their love.Problem is once she used to called Jija or vai to Saras, then how come on this earth, she would fall for that same guy.this is utter ridiculous.

One more thing, I've never read the original story, but I'm commenting on what I watch!
I don't think that there's a reason for me to check what happens in the original story, because this is the 21st century and we are watching an adapted version of the original story!
