Arshi, I already feel Saras must have noted Pramad's nature yesterday giving him 5000 Rs for saving his wife's life rather than thanking him. His look at Kumud said it all. She is priceless to him but her husband considers money more important than her. It might not come into context right now as he is upset seeing Kumud but I am sure he will soon realise and understand the true nature of Pramad and his attitude towards Kumud. Plus Buddhidan gave Pramad a piece of his mind in front of Saras. So I am sure he won't go anywhere now, I am hoping protecting Kumud will be his first priority.

Yesterday the full face of pramaad probably didn't reveal itself to him, but yes protecting Kumud will keep him at Budhidan house.

I also want to see Dukhba Saras reunion! I wonder if we will get that soon, maybe Kumari will be the first to forgive him, she was his little sister and he did save her from the horrible mistake!

Pramad is vile. Manhandling has already started. I shudder to think what else we're due for.

as usual all people's posts have been stupendous...nothing more to add...

arshi...

agree with Iviewer...
(i) the wrong element is Pramad
(ii) walking out of a marriage is against her moral compass / family prestige
(iii) most critically, she feels her break with saras is irreversible now, despite her love..

(iv) so her alpha nature buttressed by all the drivers Iviewer eloquently described will compel her to right that wrong... by staying on...
(v) But this is a journey...she hasn't yet got a handle on how to respond to Pramad...so she her Beta nature takes over sometimes...

NOW...
we need to go back to point (iii)...if she feels that there's no chance of going back to saras

AND
saras keeps his distance
(i) out of a sense of duty / propriety for his new 'family'
(ii) not wanting to make things more difficult to kumud (he already got her into enough trouble when he saved her..all the fracas with Pramad)..

THEN
kumud will revert to pure Beta...resigned to her fate...nothing to live for types..but will not attempt to reform Pramad...

UNTIL
the s@*t really hits the fan by
(i) some major personal calamity to saras / her family / herself
(ii) Pramad goes too far

THEN
like a Phoenix rising...our sherni will be back ...full on Alpha...and how!!

Till then ...like Iviewer has said...she is too strong for her own good...let me try to refine that thought...she has too damn pride / self respect for her own good both as an alpha & as a beta...even when she will resign to her fate, she will face it stoically but with full pride...not like a cry-baby...but more like a "Bring It On. I am not going to react, but will not surrender either" types...she may not even share her hurt / pain with saras...she will suffer all this without making a hue and cry...

so bottomline -
I feel it will be like it went in Om Shanti Om: "Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost"...the pile of troubles for kumud, made up largely of personal attacks by Pramad still to be built...

I am just confused how will the retraction happen...the only way this equation balances is if Pramad is removed...anything else knocks down their character sketch ...

so I guess here too the we will have to wait for Pramad's demise...

BTW: Would like to appreciate Anshul...poor guy has got the short end of the stick with respect to the character he is supposed to play...the entire samud fan universe was anyway against him...kudos to him to portray his character with the correct amount of vileness that we continue to be repulsed...it does take guts to do a villian act...future image and all that..

Arshi and CB team,
Iviewer is absolutely right, CB has the ability to take us through even substandard episodes with elan , i'm looking back at the phase when Arshi and Hgg were duly pulled back by Smrth's brilliant dots and crosses.

I am glad for being patient y'day for not putting in my reply, lest insulting the thread by being too blunt on the face. Kaadal and Remz, thank you for asking what I wanted to..
"come on Kumud, get a grip..this Pramad is beyond redemption.. Annulment will not be frowned by those who matter to you the most, your family. Enough of this special ability to skillfully complicate your life and take the torture, you are not helping yourself dear." I will not be able to empathize if this misery goes on at this rate, sure I need a compelling logic.

About the episode, convo without words, no words from me to describe, Saras feeling sorry and pain for kumud, hands holding Rs500 note in front of his eyes, not disgusted as yet. Kumud's complainig eyes, look what have you put me into. She didn't try to turn away, looked at Saras as if to seek help to deal with wretched man of a husband.

What was answered in fragments that were not really connecting well for me, has been put together beautifully by you hotdogg!

Who better than the master of alpha beta personality theory to bring all points under the fold and tie it up neatly for us!

Thank you sirjee for that! @ bold -yes sounds consistent with Kumud's personality!

Adiani, the 500 ka note insult - of Saras, of Kumud, had a twofold impact

1. Saras has had an insight into Kumud's plight

2. As IViewer pointed out, Kumud has moved from being the chubhane wala kaanta, to an active cause of his humiliation, this will mean that he will heap even more abuse on her, hence the question of why she will stay on!

Hotdogg has nicely summed it up for us in a convincing prediction of Kumud's future course of action!

Dukh baa also had the honor of uttering the most portentous line of the episode: Agar Kumud pe koi aanch aayo bhi toh uski raksha uska asli jeevan saathi karega... And the one with the rightful, lifetime claim does simply that. The method chosen... The pillar... The sheer viciousness and crudeness of the operation was very revealing of Pramad's psyche. And a warning to us all: The man is crude and his actions will be vile. Cue the shot-gun dulha and his quick-fix attempts to rid... the wedded baggage. Tho whatever he throws at Kumud, his target will multiply. And his aim, however precise will always waver and fall short. Because Kumud has a guardian angel. A fallen one, yes. Sans the wings and golden halo... but with his purity fully intact. So pristine that he shines. Remember the dark abyss Pramad threatened K with that wedding night? Well, Saras is waiting at the bottom now... Illuminating the path down. A footnote on the pillar itself: Intriguing that it was an implement belonging in a holy place, used as the chief instrument in the execution of a purely evil deed. One "fallen" battling another "fallen". Read it as: forget the Devil, Saras will even stand between, and shelter K from the holy, if need be. Witness the tainted holy pillar... Liken it to Kumud's tainted matrimonial institution. With that act of mortal rescue, S has but firmly inserted himself into the Pramad - Kumud - Kalika connect. He is her rescuer, by virtue of that mere fact, P already bears him ill-will... Tho, what of the fact that he is first and foremost her saviour, as she was once his?

Loved Buddhi Dhan's concern and affection for Saras. Adored his hand, caressing S' head. Something so "right" about it. Left more of a warm glow inside than the LN - Saras equation ever did... Left me wondering, has Saras already usurped the seat of affection, that Pramad could never quite gain?...

... From being "in love", they will have to adjust to loving each other. In love, is impatient. It tolerates no wait. Saras and Kumud, have a lifetime of hopeless anticipation in front of them. And only love for each other - unconditional, true - will see them through. Because if you love someone you do not do what S and K have done - you do not hurt, you do not humiliate, you do not ditch them at the altar! But if you are in love, a love that you have no control over, a love that transcends your existence, a love that consumes you and makes you take unbelievably stupid decisions and make even stupider sacrifices, then you do exactly what they have done. ...

Think of their love, as a phoenix, emerging from the ashes of its own conviction, security and even arrogance that it was sacred. ...Now it is only too aware of its insanctity and that makes it a phoenix worth protecting...

...Aaj unki daastan bhale adhuri hai, par mohabbat muqammal hai, ehsaas poori hai... Mohabbat ke dairon se bahar nikal kar mohabbat karenge. Aisi mohabbat karenge jo saath reh kar bhi log na kar paaye... ...

iViewer, I am at a loss for words...Have to take a leaf from one of Arshi's dear friends who is missing from CB right now, (@Infofan, you are missed!) to ask you dear friend, "aapke peir kahaan hain?"😊

Like most people who watch this show, I frequently wonder why I put myself through it? Besides everything else that holds us in thrall, CB in general, and your posts in particular, are definitely a bonus feature that makes this journey worthwhile! Thankyou.👏

Another question that bothers us a lot is how will Saras and Kumud (and by extension all of us ) survive this long and arduous journey till the light at the end of the tunnel? Much like Dukhba and Guniyal re-assuring each other with hollow hopes and promises, we hypothesise and speculate about this twosome so dear to our hearts, and examine every scene of every episode like Sherlock on the carpet with a magnifying glass, for any shred or clue the CV's may have left for us about their ultimate fate! In your post today, I found so many expressions of hope for us to hang on to, it's a bonanza...The way you put them across so well, they look like solid clues, tempting us to hang on and travel dangerously, along with Saras and Kumud on the rocky road strewn with heartbreak and humiliation. Great job, Detective iViewer 😃

Arshi, what a discussion you set in motion! Almost all is answered. Most ably by Hgg and i viewer.👏...
Like others said, would she? In her 'linear' mind? Where sanctity of marriage she sworn, can not be overturned so easily at first whiff of the adversity. Though, at the moment, she has added burden of keeping his father's monumental blunder safely concealed from both; society's prying eyes and her parent's unimaginable sorrow. But even when the farce would be out in open, she won't be easily able to retract from a commitment she undertook- even if her father himself now comes and calls for annulment. Her linear convictions may force her to give it a best try...A value system, fairly 'traditional' but firm all the same. As pointed out once, our urbane POV may not agree with its such application, but the same system has also stood in quite a good stead by her so far- making her a strong, empathetic, all round personality that she is. How to apply adverse judgment so soon now?...besides, Physical abuses, Personal degradation she may soon override, courtesy her own strength and support of rest of the family. She has claimed, ' not one to be running away from the 'relationship' made. They have to be honoured'. And most importantly, for story tells it so! Ominous; Guniyal's advise," accept his virtues and vices together"- trouble though is a complete void in the former,

Personally, I would agree with you and want Kumud to just smash his face, walk out and go with Saras- of course, once he proffers his case unflinching.😕

@ iviewer and Hgg, I have trouble identifying/predicting full scope of their actions into mere alpha, beta, omega or their combination compartments of different permutations or combinations. For the reason; the characters conceived in their original form, chiefly in service/validation of an ideological world view (of the author) pinned on spiritual ideology of Upanishads- mainly Ishavasyam, have to have a more flexible paradigm broad enough to incorporate spiritual aspect so unique to Indian heroes. And especially so for Govardhanram's SC. For roots/ justification ( if any) of most of their actions or conclusions are primarily based on this aspect for both the characters in the original Novel. (Chiefly, realisation of SC's 'existential dualism' Goals in his life and Kumud's contribution towards it.) Though most of this is skirted in adaptation for obvious reasons ( who would care such arcane?!), and proposed theory (alpha, beta) brilliantly accounts many of the actions here. Nevertheless, that basic aspect still influences the crux turning points, (culminating in both the marriages- first her, than his). Willing 'Renunciation', a spiritual trait, by both, (and almost entire tale as its fall out), can not be entirely explained with a clinical/secular societal model of Alpha- Beta, I feel. But I might be wrong.😕
