So our troop leader, speaketh. Hear! Hear! 👏

The mind is a whimsical thing... It is like that most fantastical airplane that flies despite engineer's scepticism that the aerodynamics add up =) And airplanes, as all should know, take off against the wind, not with it! 😳

Edit: Arshi, such beautiful lines!... Truly moved, my friend. But, as Hgg has mentioned... You are the source... You provide, you allow to flourish, and when lost (as above), your words guide us home. Only regret is that we cannot thank you enough, for your enduring passion. If you hadn't lit the fires, what would we all have had to stoke... Alas, we cannot convey appreciation in beautiful terms even as half comparable to yours... But as smrth would say, "please take the import" =)

Hgg,
Thanks for your patience and perseverance in explaining.
@ bold 2 and 3...well, perhaps you are underestimating him. He is too wily and deep. He would continue to confound us, and make our presumptions go awry in a perfectly 'logical' fashion. I had this experience while reading. If they continue to follow the core characteristics, we may soon why find out how...
And basic misconception prevails- a model, which primarily describes societal competence/preferences, where does it place willing detachment, an exact opposite of the above, I am not able to comprehend. They do not want to 'lead', they don't want to 'follow', they are not even mainframe outcast (omega?)...where would they fit- their motives/drives?... Please pardon my density.
I agree and submit, will follow this building block religiously now. It does contain the present project entirely and satisfactorily.
😊

@ 'impatient generation', yes kinda instant gratification! But considering inherent dangers we witnessed, I so wish, SLB would not have aimed for 1000+ episodes. If he felt 3 hours format inadequate- and so rightly-, kaash, he would have opted for a 50-100-200 episodes 'seasonal' format. What a product it would have been- everything pre laid out, pre conceived, nothing incongruent, inconsistent, contingent! Have you seen/ heard about a Pakistani Serial " Meri Zaat Zarra e benishaan he"? Exactly similar concept on lead, albeit different mould! again I Wish SLB would have opted setting a new trend- or rather recalling an old trend!

P.s. I viewer, I noticed, last two episodes, my impression posts echoed many features you laid out so stunningly...and this a 'brag' I am proud to impose! 😳Your writing is such insightful!⭐️

@Bold Cannot agree more. On a theoretical level, it works and it enriches. Mind food. But on a practical level, relating to real-life conditions/limitations/pressures of show, it would not be long before path to enlightenment is met by a brick wall However, concede that on the level of pure intellect, there is no reason why debate should not delve deeper... As well not to negate that, we're missing something. Because the objective itself, is a "work in progress"... And the source, to a level, still incomprehensible. Right now, we're seeking crutches to decipher... Characters, actions, motivations... Disposable crutches at that. "Absoluteness" is a luxury we can but desire... Because the project is not absolute, how can the frameworks be?

Re: SLB's lofty aims... The format you propose is intriguing and ideal... Has it been employed on Indian television yet? Sorry, my knowledge extends to SC only 😳 I somehow have the feeling that SLB's aspirations have been curtailed... He has been made to operate from a box... The genuis is still there but reduced to flashes only (pure brilliance, no less)... His vision has been watered down.. Due again, to the environment SC exists in. Was told, rather unceremoniously, last night that SC occupies but the lower rungs of the TRP ladder... Never set store by the model, inherently flawed it is. But that still is the barometer of the day. Got reminded again that the environment is inescapable 😳

Guys ...

Totally second Arshii ...

what others think should not in any way serve as a constraint on these most wonderful discussions ... these are the elements which make this watching experience so meaningful and enjoyable ... otherwise there are shows galore ... innumerable TV shows to see and forget ... the whole point which makes this special is that there is so much to talk about ... the interpretations ... the character nuances ... the deeper meanings hidden in layers of literary craft etc.

and fortunately for us there are some really talented and brrilliant people here to give us such deep insights .

So please carry on in the same vein...unreservedly ...unabashedly . 😊

@Hgg ... Thank you sooo much for all the cogent analysis ... and those wonderful lines from T.S Eliot . 😊

@Smrth ... " But than, we are creating our own conversation which has substance of its own!... " 👏

The core of the book being Spiritualism... Renunciation ...

As all of you have already discussed ... how valid is it in this day and age to follow that... i wonder whether SLB has been able to take out the time and give attention to this crucial aspect ... how to take the track forward will depend on this crucial decision ... and i guess it has to be taken now ... Let us see what he has in mind ?

Meanwhile , to all the wonderful people here ... Thanks for making this journey so wonderful and so much fun . 😊

Hgg... Most ably explained again 👏 If I may, building up on your points:

Re: Bold1 Saras, especially has been made more "palatable"... His mother's backstory, his past trauma provides a "crutch" to his fallibilities... He is not as "detached"... If anything, his attachment is too great. And that leads him to inadvertently hurt the ones he strives to protect. Saras, started out as something else... Closer to source... But in Ratnagiri, to paraphrase Sunny, the Sanyasi turned into a Romeo. He is a "hero". He fights, he cries, he laughs, he romances, he pines, he makes mistakes, he apologises, he commits sins... And he will atone for them. GMT's, yes, but will "renunciation" sit as easily on SLB's Saras...?

@Bold... Got to know of fact last night itself... Left me conflicted. Thus, my response proper veering on the practical... Not losing sight of the objective. Feet firmly on the ground... Mind prone to flights unimagined... =)

@ bold underlined,
A coincidence.😆...about 8-9 days before telecast of this paraphrase ( 7-8 June?) I had wrote exact phrase in CB 31/ may in a reply to Vaishali, another coincidence, a comment about spirituality in book. Which that time, realising non context, I had not pursued that time.

Then again I ventured (CB 5 June ) commenting about their clumsy adaptation of certain base aspect of the book. I received universal flake then...realised, am being 'non context' again same topic...perhaps I erred again today?😕 The topic 5 June was ' 5 years Jyotish learning' an OTT comment by LN- and it's foolish correlation by me to 'spirituality'.
