@bold,
A fact that she brought it well deliberated, and his obvious pining for her answer- calling her out all the way- points to this. She was well aware of the 'question/approbation' in his mind and she was ready with her answer. after all he deserved his well earned prize from her😳...Isn't a Var mala is first stage of a marriage? Brides's first consent and affirmation...
@ underline,
Posted something similar...😆

Agree smrth ! And as hotdogg pointed out , her putting the garland on him instead of a verbal consent was such a sweet innocent gesture.. Like you said she was expecting him to ask her that question so she came prepared with the best possible answer as a token of love and gratitude for the best possible proposal she got from him.. and she looked every inch like Saras's bride with the garland in her hand, smiling coyly... His expression conveyed the message- he got the best prize for what he managed to achieve that day..

I realized we are kinda writing similar things 😆 even the foot cleaning act of Kumud.. Nothing could stop Saras today..not even empty threat of mom or dad coming to grab his collar😆

Her remorse next day, all that crying and bitterness towards Saras was NOT an act of accussing Saras.. AT ALLL !!!! It was only and only the guilt of not being able to hold herself back and having that so important self -restraint that is instilled in her value system.. Kumud is progressive, bold, educated, modern and everything but the righteous girl brought up in a house where maan maryada is an asset that you are expected to protect at all times, is bound to judge her own actions.. Her father proudly says that they have drawn a line that they know she is never gonna cross.. wouldn't those words ring in her ears? She herself takes pride in saying that her father may not have earned a lot of money, but he has earned a lot of respect in life.. Wouldn't she fear that her act can jeopardize his respect in the society , if god forbid anyone comes to know of it..? More than anything else, she blames herself for not having the self control ..for turning the boon of ''maryada'' into a curse.. She doesn't blame Saras.. In her mind, men giving in to desire is permissible... but women doing the same is not permissible... Saras coming near her is agonizing her more because it reminds her of her own folly... She trusts him and his love immensely.. Its her own self that she doesn't trust... especially around him.. I feel bad for Saras.. he was in no two minds.. For him, the act of making love to her was as sacred as offering prayer in a temple.. he can never associate the word ''paap'' with it... I hope he tries to look at things from her point of view.. only he can at the moment.. she is too drowned in self remorse to see anything straight or even cherish the most beautiful moment of her life..

The way GR expressed a dejection...a subtle wince twice over: " paap?..ise paap mat kaho" and then a tart stress...ye. bhul...
I hope they show her understanding his anguish here too. His sincerity, his commitment and subsequent dejection at undercurrent of a 'rejection' from her. She must correct this hurt that she caused him unwittingly...will she?

And a last thought that is all prevailing for me today, as told in Vaishali's thread too...
I feel this is ''THE Magical assurance' SLB way.😲😊...The END is 'matched' today...SARAS-KUMUD...all the way in the END. Period.😃😃

Immediately? No..I think right now she is too engrossed in self pity and self remorse to understand the hurt she is causing him.. The feeling of backstabbing her parent's trust and her own morailty is so high that she is not even able to cherish the beautiful memories of the night like he is.. She flinches in disgust when he said hum dono ke beech ke sari dooriyan khatm ho gayi.. that kinda indicates her state of mind right now.. The memories of his first intimate touch, the first kiss, the fist embrace must be so beautiful for any girl ..but for her they are tormenting..In that state of mind, I doubt she is even realizing how much she us hurting him.. she doesn't doubt his sincerity and commitment at all.. its not about him.. notice her expression when he asks her if she doubts his love.. she cries like a helpless child who doesnt know how to undo her mistake.. and yeah Saras's anguish when she says paap.. was terrific.. and also the pause before bhool.. he doesnt think its a bhool or paap at all..

One question for whoever finds time to answer - What is the saza/punishment he is talking about in the last scene? Is he telling her that he will share the blame in case she decides to confide in someone..coz looking at her state , it seems she will explode if she doesn't let the guilt out of her system.. or is he suggesting to announce it together lol that'd be stupid and suicidal.. or are we back to ''chaar kadam ki doori ''? 😕

This twist in the tale which is foxing many of us here, is probably a TRP move. As discussed before on various 'why is our TRP so low?" threads, the people on this forum are not the same sort of folks as the ones with the TRP-meters, by and large. Hence the high popularity of this show on this forum, and the low TRP's at the same time.

Showing Kumud as a girl who got carried away by the moment, gave in to the man she loved, was a mostly passive/helpless object of his desires, rather than an equal participant in the "act", and then the bitter regret, self-flagellation and high drama without any trace of subtlety or nuance that has been the heart and soul of this show so far, may be something that would appeal to the other audience.

Shall have to wait and see if this track actually does anything for the TRP's... What a waste otherwise!

Although I really agree with your post happychappy dear, it makes me sick to my stomach to even think of Saras in such a way... especially because he didn't let the pain of her regret show... my poor heart

Agree with vaishali's description.. of her feeling helpless like a child and the magnitude of her grief drowning out everything else..

She kinda went from barely holding hands to PMS without any of the other stages of intimacy in between..

Earlier with all the media frenzy, I kinda felt that CVs went for PMS stage in accelerated mode for trps... But then there was no visual depiction of anykind.. In fact it was not even the cheezy 2 flower depiction.. Just a garland and kumuds remorse the next day..

Therefore feel there is more to it..entire track is not trp related..this is building up to something...good or bad.. time will tell..

That was somewhat baffling. Oughtn't he double his efforts to calm and assure her? In the short run, I expect him to go to Guniyal as Kumud finishes her confession and Mother daughter in a dazed state...no histrionics from Guniyal please...she is too subtle, refined and deep ( I want to share more on her from original...there is so much depth in her...G.M.T.'s best creation according to some...but original is forbidden😆)...and Saras accepting her rebuke but assuring 'Ma' and daughter once again...( Gun- Saras convo..."Woman brings you love, to shield/cherish is Man's duty.")...though cvs are hinting severer track with this 'Saza'...and perhaps, eight steps ( four from each) now, as you say...
Now Let me stop till evening please.😆😆
