Govinda’s lawyer finally addresses divorce speculations: 'There is no case, everything is being settled…'

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are making headlines due to divorce rumors. There has reportedly been a rift between them for a long time. The question on everyone’s minds is whether they are really getting divorced. It was reported that Sunita Ahuja filed a divorce petition, accusing Govinda of "adultery, cruelty, and desertion". However, Govinda’s lawyer has finally addressed the media and put all speculation to rest.

Lalit Bindra, Govinda’s lawyer, reacted to the divorce rumors while speaking to NDTV. Lalit shared, “Koi case nahi sab settle ho raha hai ye sab log purani cheezen utha ke daal rahe hain (There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters)."

The publication’s sources also added, “Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aayega, aapko sab saath mein nazar aayenge, aap ghar aaiyega (This Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see everyone together, you should come home)."

According to a report by Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja has reportedly filed a divorce petition against Govinda in Bandra Family Court, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. The petition, filed in December 2024, alleges that Govinda has repeatedly missed hearings and court-mandated counseling sessions. Sunita, however, has been present at every hearing.

Divorce speculations have previously swirled around the Bollywood couple. In February, reports claimed Govinda and Sunita Ahuja were separating due to ongoing disagreements and differing lifestyles. Allegedly, Govinda's growing closeness to a 30-year-old Marathi actress was a key factor in their reported split.

Subsequently, their lawyer clarified that despite filing for divorce six months prior, the couple was reconciling. Lalit Bindal, a family friend of the actor, stated that Govinda and Sunita are “going strong" and that they will always be together.

Adding to the confusion, Sunita previously explained that they began living apart years ago due to Govinda’s political career. She felt the family’s privacy was compromised by the frequent visits of party workers to their home. "We live separately because when he joined politics, my daughter was growing up, and all the party workers would come to the house. Now, with a young daughter, we are here, and we walk around the house in shorts, so we took an office nearby," she said, explaining that she and her daughter moved to a separate space while Govinda used an office nearby.

Amidst recent speculation, Govinda made his first public appearance, appearing unconcerned as he blew kisses to fans. Daughter Tina Ahuja also shared her first post, seemingly unfazed, echoing her father's demeanor. While Tina mentioned she was in Punjab for work, son Yashvardhan shared that he recently held a pooja at home.
