so our dikra while still loving her deeply was still too impulsive and made a bad decision..then his own ego did not allow him to correct his mistake in time...by the time he realises the mistake, kumud is married and the die is cast...

SLB has already made major adaptations...in the show the rejection letter is brought in right at the beginning, followed by them falling in love...

however what smrth & I were discussing were the next steps if the show has to follow the story...there will be a seperation caused by guman, arising out of an impulsive call by saras...

and we are fast approaching that point...without which the story cannot move forward...

BTW: the more I learn the more I realize the story is entirely about kumd...then why did the author name it SC.?..haven't got the answer yet...maybe in the period it was written a novel with the name of its female protaganist would not have had a wider appeal...or maybe the author was trying to be cheeky and naming it after the bozo whose one impulsive decision caused all the trouble for all the characters and permitted him to write 5 volumes over 15 years! 😊

Thanks hotdogg. Yeah SLB started it with the rejected letter so here things have to be in Guman's hand. But if this happens next week, don't you think Saras would be around when Dughbaa's husband comes and when Kumari is in trouble ? Read a spoiler somewhere that he stands up for supporting Kumari against her dad, so maybe we might have some more time before separation. Let us see.

The name of the novel, had discussed this with Arshi once. Although the initial part may involve Kumud, I felt maybe because it is Saras journey to RN, his love for a girl who revives his life, a mistake which breaks everything and again he comes back to help the family since he is still in love with her. Or maybe it is like you said, remember at starting Dughbaa had said everything was fine until Saras had come to their life, he came back, brought Guman with him and all storm unleashed in VC's family. Maybe he is indirectly like the pivot which started the changes in everyone's life so name the novel in his name. Indeed triggered the author to write 5 vol over 15 yrs.

One correction here, Sc is not directly giving money to Kumud. For simply, in the book Kumud's family is affluent after VC became prime minister. In fact, socially they were higher ranked. LN may be a textile baron of Mumbai. But VC was prime minister of a princely state. In Gujarat these posts were called 'Karbhari' means chief executive of a state. As a polity, princely states were not absolute sovereign. Ultimate sovereignty rested with the English and appointment of a 'Karbhari' was a major event, where King, though decider, has to have approval of his 'supervising' (read ruling) English political agent. So karbhari had extra weight in a state. While actually running a state, along with power, they amass huge wealth themselves and their families are aristocracy of their region...Coming back to the summary, SC was contributing to a legacy created in name of his fiance (unbeknownst to him) by his Grandmother, who was concerned that Gumaan may make him destitute after her demise...
Pramad's father Budhdhidhan was 'Karbhari' (Prime minister) of neighbouring state Suvarnapuri. In fact, novel opens there where Navinchandra (SC in disguise) lands up in his exile and ends up lodged in Budhdhidhan's household after rescuing his daughter Alak Kishori, SIL of Kumud.

Hgg,
This means no 'success' to Gumaan yet!!! Engagement on card??🥳😃
At least, they seem eager to 'complete' virtual marriage...

possibility of going through all rituals and gandharva vivah? I cant imagine Kumud agreeing to any of this before a marriage of some sort.

I hope this is not SLB's way of telling TRP audience, they wanted Samud to marry, CVs obliged. They are 'married' and have consummated. So now lets move on with the story - Pramad etc.

Marriage to Pramad is inevitable though for story to move forward.

Quoting Vaishali from Srushti's thread - . But I think the marriage of Pramad and Kumud is inevitable..I don't know under what circumstances it happens but I guess they will stick to that part of the novel.. After Pramad dies , thats when I want Saras to have the ''zidd'' to get her back in his life which never happened in the novel...

@ bold is what we are hopeful for...

Also, not sure how accurate that article is - the show is on SP, at 7:30 after all.

But Nandy I want it to be true...for this directly invalidates "Saras-Kusum"...

Is this for TRPs? I read some interview by SLB or director some time back saying Samud never cross the maryada. They will not be crossing it if a gandharva vivah takes place, I guess.

No offence to the actor but I feel like - todi naaku, phodi naaku... and send Kusum to a distant solar system.

OMG, we are back to Saras-Kusum. so dreading it.
