I understand your point about Alekh and you're probably right about why he reacted the way he did, but I was still disappointed with his reaction. I think the scene was very poorly executed and the dialogues were just terrible. But don't you think it should be Sagini's choice how much they work and what they do? And not Alevir's. Seemed like Ranvir said you do a part-time job, and Alekh said make sure it's not hard. Personally, I found that to be very insulting. Alekh's reaction was more disappointing because he seemed more upset about teh idea of both working and Ranvir seemed ok with it. I think education might also explain the slight difference in reactions between Alevir also.
Sagini were disappointing to with their asking for permission to work also. This should be more of a discussion with your spouse rather than a permission issue. And it definately looked like had Alevir said no, they wouldn't have worked--which is just NOT right.
ABSOLUTELY!!! i too, DO NOT believe ranlekh should have ANY control over how much sagini can work, and/or IF they can work. discussing about it is fine, but ultimately, its SAGINI'S decision, NOT their's. yes, totally agree on that part. BUT you have to understand, its not like that with ranlekh, at least, that's what it seems. they're not the type of husbands who believe: men have the ultimate say over their women, they're their rulers, they're the bread-winners, and the women are just their for house work. its not like that with ranlekh. the reason why they reacted such way, once again, was out of LOVE and LOVE only IMO. in that case, its fine. HOWEVER, its not fine if they try to stop them out love, and i'm glad they didn't. they ultimately did let sagini do what they want, didn't they...? and as for it being a part-time job, well, sagini didn't seem to mind it, so why should ranlekh...?
its like what i said about my mom. i just don't want her to work, cause i can't bare to see my mom working, as i LOVEEEEEE her soooo much, so i understand where ranlekh are coming from. its not like i don't want my mom to work cause she's a woman. its cause i don't wanna see her in pain, physically, and i think that's what the case was with ranlekh.
but like i said, my problem lies with the girls asking for their permission, and them letting their husbands choose how much they can work. my mom is a housewife, and trust me when i say, my dad earns MORE THAN ENOUGH money for all of us. yet, my mom wanted to and still wants to work so she can relieve herself from her boredom. she just soesn't wanna stay around in the house all day, doing nothing, hence she wants to work. so during her first job, my dad too didn't want to see her work; cause a) she doesn't need to work and b) more importantly, cause he doesn't wanna see her go through all the incredible amount of physical and mental pressure that comes with working. those were his ONLY reasons for it, and it was NOT out of some stupid macho-pride. but in the end, my mom DISCUSSED with him, it wasn't like she ASKED for his permission like with sagini, and she got what she wanted (though she's not working anymore. she left that job as we left the country and she stayed in a vacation for 3 whole months, and her job wasn't unfortunately gonna wait for her)...
this is where my problem lies...why do any woman have to ASK for their husband's or ANYONE'S permission for that matter??? why would it be anyone else decision, but their own???
as for the dialogues and how it was portrayed...i thought that was done perfectly, JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE. you have to remember, just cause the CTs were showing such things, it automatically doesn't mean they think its right. they show naveen as this evil, evil character, willing to kill his own cousins in the name of money, but that doesn't mean the CTs automatically think its RIGHT to kill your cousins for property. so its kind of the same concept here. just cause they showed sagini asking for ranlekh's permission, doesn't automatically mean that's what they believe all women should do, or even, they THEMSELVES do in their own lives. you have to remember that. and on top of that, what they showed today, its VERY REALISTIC, and this is how it plays out in reality as well. so i wasn't at all disappointed at what or how they portrayed it, at all...
