Yes, Vasu did brain wash Ranvir. But there was definitely a color issue involved too. That is why they showed that entire Krishanji track. When Aalkeh made Ranvir realize that black can ALSO be beautiful. Ranvir's character has evolved the most in the show. He was shown to be a care free immature guy for whom life meant just having fun and living the rich lifestyle. Having studied abroad, his notions of 'beauty' were different. He was definitely surprised when he saw Ragini. Not just because she was Sadhna sister- someone he knew but also because he was a little immature at that time. Maybe Ragini did not fit the description he had in mind- I remember him specifically saying to Sadhna, -"Kitni gori hogi woh, uske sunhere baal honge, woh apsara lagti hogi" or something on those lines. So yeah, his concept of beauty was definitely VERY skewed in the beginning. But they showed in the show, that he realized how wrong he was. A person can have a different complexion than the accepted norm but still be beautiful..
This is one thing which I don't like in the show. They have always stressed on the fact that Ragini ka mann itna sundar hai, uska dil saccha hai, isliye woh duniya ki sabse khoobsurat ladki hai. What they don't realize is, that not only is she beautiful from the inside but also from the outside.That girl is stunning! The way she glows everytime she comes on screen is breath taking! No wonder she is one of the most sought after actresses today in Telly Land. So yeah, they should stress that yes, you can be beautiful irrespective of your color! (I for one know of many Black Beauties)
And according to me, Ranvir made no compromise! He should thank his stars a million times that he got a girl as stunning and beautiful as Ragini!
