The inner beauty stays forever, but outside beauty doesn't stay forever, but I really wonder why some people find dark people not good looking?, infact most Indian miss world or universe r dark, I find dark much attractive than fair...............
In anyway, everybody is good looking in his/her way..........

Come around DM for a while 😆😉 .. he he he...

And yea... except for Aishwarya Rai Bacchan ... all the rest are from India were dark skinned.

And Indians are basically more dark skinned than fair... its the North Indians who are fairer. That also confined till some parts of UP, Punjab, Haryana, ... and maybe sometimes Bihar and Bengal. Otherwise apart from scattered instances, most of the Indian population is either dark or black (myself being an Indian from Delhi origin ... so I guess offending none).

Kashmiri's are fair people...sometimes as white as whites themselves. But they being an arguable part of the sub-continent....nothing to mention there.
But then, we Indians find white skin very attractive. And its universal that the lighter the color the more attractive it is to the eye!

Inner Beauty however is a thing which we hear about so much, often missed out in real life!

As for Bidaai... while reading a post back in the RS blog, I felt bad abit. One poster (perhaps Pinky9) wrote how much she was hurt on the potrayal of the darker people. First Kaushi, then CM and now Ragini ... either they are weak or they turn devils! She said that she felt as though the CT want to say that whoever is dark outside is dark inside too, Its not a good messege by the CT.

I hope they do something good about Ragini. Otherwise, I will not feel more bad than I would've felt before reading that post.

Love is not skin deep, beauty is not skin deep ... we so often forget these words in the more practical world we live in. Specially places where Fair and Lovely sales are high!...lolz!... and not to mention Fair and Handsome these days 😆

@Crimson Sky: I would not go to such an extent as saying that ALL Indian men fall for it...but yes, a large population sadly does. Its because of how we, as Indians have been brought up. It is imbibed at an early age that Gora= Sundar. Which is totally wrong. I used to cringe whenever I used to see those fairness creams advertisements shown by the dozen on Indian channels. I mean a girl getting a job just because she applies a fairness cream. Really? Now the sad part is, even established film stars have joined the band wagon and promoting fairness creams. Fairness Creams for even men! What has the world come to, or more precisely, what have Indians come to. I feel all these fairness creams should be banned from the Indian market. Jab tak yeh hain, logon ki soch nai badalne waali. Can't they see beauty in a person without looking at their complexion first! Look at Parul! What brilliant features she has! That nose, those cheekbones....the eyes! Everything in general! A true beauty!

This way, the western society is much better. LOL. The people here like the dusky exotic look. No wonder Tanning Salons are so much in vogue!

Yeah Isabel, I get your point. You are right in a way.

I was surprised when I first came back from Europe to India, I found an adv. of fair and lovely. In that adv. Priyanka Chopra was Saif Ali Khan's ex ... while Saif was all over a fairer girl! ... The reason was Priyanka being dusky.

Priyanka was all over... finished to doom! But fortunately she finds fair and lovely ... becomes fairer in 7 days!!! ... and Saif is back in her life....and she thanks Fair and Lovely!!

And we all know Shahrukh's secret to stardom...being Fair and Handsome 😆

As for tanners ... I used to think in a similar way ... but it seems that the dark Indian complexion and the tanned complexion is different. But atleast they get what they are after... its something like an orange tinge... and it goes away...doesnt stay.

Indian dark complexion does not have too much of a chance to become fairer honestly. But they keep trying....and throw trillions of dollars every year after these useless ointments. Not to mention the amount of profit the tele brand ROOP AMRIT made ... all on the same agenda.

Frankly I've seen silly girls with one GUN, and that is GORI ... get married to the bright NRIs from abroad! Which sometimes is not very bright.

And ur absolutely right...Parul is very preety.... and every color is beautiful. But unfortunately... these words often remain till words.... basically a large portion of India is always after the fairer complexion.

BTW.... do you remember which movie had this song "Sone jaisa baal aur chandi jaisa tan?".... 😆

Haha....Yeah! The Priyanka-Saif Ad was soooo gross and cringe worthy! Made me really lose it. LOL.Can't believe what kind of an example these stars are setting for the masses. Sad indeed!

And yeah, I know tanning is different. But I mean in general. Be it when I was in Europe or now here in the US, people always prefer the dusky skin compared to the 'white' skin that the Indian masses desire. We have a long way to go to let go off that stupid notion.

Edit: Sorry! Heard the song, but don't remember the movie! But in songs, I think they still do a better job. They have songs celebrating 'Salony-sawali' as well 😊

Yeah, I saw these pics, she is not fair, she is dark, but still she is very beautiful, even at the time she won the title for miss world, see her there and see her now, the make-up style changing all time made her kind of fair, but she is not, anyway, better to not discuss about her here, as we r not allowed........
By the way, she was not miss universe, she was miss world, it was Sushmita Sen who won miss universe at same year.........
