Malti only recently turned positive but many many months back, she did ill treat mamaji and mamiji when Vinu was working. She would take all the money and avoid cooking food for the family and she was very harsh to Ragini.

double standards and hypocrisy.

You're completely right! Actually I noticed this for a while but today (yesterday?)'s episode when malti asked about what ragini got as a gift, nani got mad at her. Imagine that malti's relatives came 2 stay and brought gifts and ragini asked what malti got- mami would have laughed.
Or imagine in rajvansh parivaar sadhna or alekh ask ragini what she got from inderjeet(imagine the gift was wrapped) we as an audience would have laughed and vasu and indrajeet would have laughed at their "innocence". But with malti its "NO malti how dare u ask such a thing"
Dont get me wrong I AM NOT COMPARING Sadhna and ragini to malti im just using them as an example i love both of them- just it should be obvious to ragini that "vinu ki bahu" is not treated with respect.

Guys chill out .... mama n mami are not mistreating malti by calling her 'vinu ki bahu' ... its only a custom to call her out like tht .... even if u notice sadi call her hubby as 'aalekh ji' not simply aalekh as ragini does to ranveer and so does mamaji calls kaushi as kaushalya ji ... its a tradition kind of thing ....

pls dont bash the characters by saying selfish n all and dont use CAPS cos its like shouting!

Here it is more of an analysis of Indian double standards than bashing characters. The indian custom of calling your daughter-in-law as "vinu-ki-bahu" is not really respectful.
I am sure most girls will agree about it if you take a survey.

actually, the part of 'vinu ki bahu' is not demeaning. it is traditional in some communities especially, gujus, rajasthan n UP wherer relations are addressed like kapil ke bapu, inke, unke n in this case vinu ki bahu. and not by names. why even nani calls mamaji as dammadji,
rajvanch is a litte modern parivar so they may not say such but still the jetahni/derani relations stature is evident here also.

Talkativetaurus, the bashing as you call it is not of the characters themselves, because we are all aware of course, that they are being played by fantastic, talented actors. Bidaai is unique in the soaps in that it allows realism, no one has to play a completely negative or completely positive character, and everyone plays realistic roles.

There is no disrespect to Vibha ji, or Alokh Nath ji meant , its their roles we are discussing, and there different atitudes as we see them is completely okay to comment on. If I think Mamaji or Mamiji (the characters, not the people) are hypocrites, thats what I'll discuss here.

Those of us in the discussion forums talk about the roles we see on screen because we are engaged and interested and see a lot of subtle aspects which we share with each other. Thats fun.

If its my opinion that there is selfishness and hypocrisy on screen, Im going to share it with my fellow bloggers, and hopefully, with you as well, and we can all throw ideas back and forth and discuss the characters, and how we see them. You should ALSO chill out, this is a discussion and not a slandering of someone's family or friends.
