Hi Friends! I am back with part 2 as promised, once again sorry for the lateness, but it couldn't be helped.
Before I go on let me just mention, I thought I would have a Gohem moment for you guys in this, but sorry it didn't work out that way, but I hope you like it, since this is all about Ahem.
Also, my Hindi is not good, I can understand it and even talk in Hindi, but when it comes to writing the words in english, I am very bad at it, so all the Nani convo will be in English, which may sound weird but hope you forgive me for this.
Enjoy the next update.
Part 2
Two weeks later, when Ahem returned from a site, his PA informed him, he had a visitor in his office. He wanted to snap at her for letting someone in without an appointment, but he controlled the urge.
His mood had not improved, but he knew he couldn't keep taking his bad mood out on his employees. It wasn't their fault for his conscious decision to let something so precious slip thru this fingers and didn't know how to get it back now.
His mood didn't improve upon seeing Anita sitting in his office. "Anita, what are you doing here?" He put his laptop bag on his desk and sat in his leather chair, facing Anita.
She leaned forward. "Ahem what kind of greeting is that for a friend?"
Ahem relieved an irritated sigh, he was not in a friendly mood, especially for her. Because of her he saw the disappointment return in his mom's eyes this morning.
He didn't know how and when the reporter snapped a picture of them together at the business dinner the night before, but the photo had been on the first page of business section of the daily newspaper. He hadn't noticed the picture until his mother pointed it out to him that morning.
Flashback…
Ahem had been working on a proposal for a new project when his eyes landed on Gopi's Kanaji idol. He didn't know what had made him take the idol out of the wardrobe and place in on his side of the bed on the night he found it a week ago. All knew was that once he held the small statue in his hand he had been unable to put it back.
He didn't know how long he had been sitting there staring at the idol, but the sound of his mom's voice had broke the trance.
"Ahem dikra, here is your green tea. Get ready quickly, breakfast will be ready soon." If she noticed the idol, she chose not to say anything about it.
Koki put the tea on the table near her son and started to walk away but her son's pleading tone stopped her. "Mom." She turned look at him and her heart clenched at seeing the confusing emotions in her beloved child's eyes.
Koki controlled her emotions and sat beside him. Her son showed very little of what he felt to anyone, even her at times. It was only when he is overwhelmed he showed what he felt, everything else was dealt with anger. She knew it was because of her he was like this and she had tried her best to correct her mistake but had failed at it.
She put her own pain aside and turned to her son. "Ahem, what is bothering you dikra?"
"Mom, Gopi left this behind, why?" He held out the small Kanaji idol that Gopi always kept with her.
Koki swallowed back the tears at the mention of her sweet vahu. She cannot let her son see how much she missed her sweet vahu. It was up to her son to decide whether he wants his wife back or not. The day he asks her where his wife is, she will tell him, but for now her vahu was in a safe place.
"I don't know why she left that here Ahem, may be she felt she didn't need him anymore." Koki feared that her vahu had lost all hope and felt even her Kanaji had turned his back on her. She prayed her vahu hadn't lost complete faith in her Kanaji.
Her son's next question shocked her. "Mom why did she leave? Why did you let her go?" Koki had waited six months for her son to ask her something, anything, but when he didn't mention Gopi at all, she had feared he was happy with the decision and the disappointment she had felt at her son's decision had brought her to her knees.
"This wasn't the first time she asked to leave." Ahem's head snapped up at this and he frowned. What other time had Gopi asked to leave? "It was in the beginning of your marriage, she wanted to free you then, may be I should have let her go then, she would have been spared the pain of your rejection yet again." Ahem flinched at his mom's words.
His mom continued. "When you went on your business trip six months ago, you didn't even look at her. She came to me that day and asked again if she could leave, initially I said no, but she convinced me it was best for you, if she left, so I let her go. As for why she left, only you know the answer to this."
Ahem could not deny this, he knew why she left. He had pushed her away again. Even a most resilient person gives up when their heart is rejected over and over.
His mom's next words pierced his heart. "I am sorry Ahem, for forcing her on you. I now realized she is not what you wanted or needed, and now you have what you want. I wish you all the happiness in the world my son."
Ahem frowned because he did not know why his mom was saying this, then saw where his mom was looking and noticed the picture of him and Anita.
Present..
Ahem realized Anita had been talking to him and he hadn't heard a word she said. He let her talk him into going to lunch with her but he barely paid attention to her, his mind kept wandering to what his mom said and Gopi.
That night as he stood by the window, thinking about her, he finally admitted that he let his fear take over and let the most wonderful, loving and precious person go out of his life. How will he get her back?
"Gopi please come back to me, I promise I will love you like you deserved to be loved" He whispered the words softly.

Koki sat outside the hospital room beside her mother, praying to Kanaji to make everything work. She twisted her hands anxiously, and hoped she did the right thing.
"Koyli?" Koki turned to her mother. "Are you still upset that I hid Gopi vahu's pregnancy from you?" Her mother asked her.
"No Maa, I understand she made you promise not to say anything. I am just worried about her and how Ahem will take this news." Koki glanced towards the doors then back to her mother.
"Maa, I promised myself that I would let Ahem decide how he wants to live his life, but the current circumstances forces me to break that promise."
"Koyli, have faith in your upbringing, you raised Ahem to know the right from wrong, he will do the right thing. Your regrets, at past decisions, are not going to help what is happening now." Koki hoped her mother is right and prayed that things between her son and vahu works out for the best.
"Mom." Koki looked up to see her son standing in front of her glancing anxiously between her and his Nani. She could see the questions in his eyes.
He bent and took his Nani's blessings. " Jai Shree Krishna Nani, how are you?"
Nani blessed him. "I am fine Ahem dikra."
Ahem turned to his mom. "Mom you didn't tell me why you wanted me to come here urgently." He had been in a middle of a meeting with a private investigator when his mom called and told him to come to Nani's village right away, when she told him to meet her at the small hospital in town, he had thought may be something was wrong with Nani, but it seems to be more than that.
His mom's anxiety was scarring him. What could make his mom this anxious? He kneeled in front of her, took her hands in his and looked into her eyes. "Mom, please tell me what's wrong, I will take care of whatever is causing this anxiety."
She finally relaxed a bit. She looked down at their joint hands. "Ahem please forgive me, I promised myself that I would not force you to do anything you didn't want to do, but I have to break my promise to you today." She looked away to control her tears.
"Mom, please don't say this, you know I will do whatever you say..."
"Ahem, just hear me out first please." she cut him off. "When Gopi vahu asked me if she could leave Modi Bhavan, I wanted her to be in a safe place and not go off in a big, unknown city with Dhavalji. So I made sure she made it here, to your Nani's place."
Ahem felt as though his world is about to turn on its axis once again. His mind flashed back to that moment again when he had felt his world crashing down around him. He immediately closed his mind off to that memory and turned back to his mom.
Koki watched the fleeting expressions on her son's face and silently prayed that she hadn't been wrong about her son's feelings. "Ahem, I didn't know Gopi vahu was pregnant when she left us." She watched her son carefully.
Pregnant? He closed his eyes and was assaulted with images of the most memorable night of his life. How a simple comforting gesture had turned into a passion filled night and neither one of them had been able to hold back.
His mind came back to present with a jolt. The joy he felt at the news was indescribable, but he sensed there was more his mom wanted to say, but what? Surely she is not thinking he will deny fathering this baby? That would never happen, this is the most wonderful gift Kanaji could have granted him along with bringing Gopi back in his life.
"Mom, what is making you anxious? This is my baby, I have no doubts." Ahem tried to ease his mom's worries.
His mom placed her hand on his cheek and gave him a strained smile. "Ahem I never doubted that this is your baby, I trust you and Gopi vahu impeccably. This is not what I am worried about. I am worried because the doctor is concerned about Gopi vahu's health. She has some weakness and has developed high blood pressure. She needs to be monitored closely."
Ahem felt the familiar fear take over his mind, but he fought it back. This is not the time to let the fear rule his life, Gopi and his baby needed him. "Mom, what happened? Has she had problems from the beginning?"
It was his Nani who answered him. He had almost forgotten she was there, sitting beside his mom. "Ahem, she was fine until few days ago. I noticed she became very quiet and thoughtful after she returned from mandir few days ago. When we went for a check up yesterday, the doctor thought it was best to hospitalize Gopi for observation."
Ahem was amazed his Nani didn't have a memory lapse. She must have noticed his surprise because she smiled at him. "Ahem dikra, don't look so surprised, your wife has been taking care of me well, and made sure I was taking my medicine everyday, it has helped me tremendously." Ahem nodded his head proudly and turned back to his mom.
"Mom we will take Gopi back to Rajkot with us and get the best specialist to monitor her closely, don't worry" He tried to reassure his mom.
"Will she go back with us?" His mom voiced the question that was in the back of his mind since he learned Gopi was pregnant.
He stood up, he will do whatever it took to talk her into going back, there was no other option, now that he has found her he will not let her go. "Mom, where is she? I want to see her?"
"Ahem dikra..." His mom also stood up.
He placed his hand on his mom's arm. "Mom, I won't stress her, but I need to see her please. I have to talk to her." His mom finally relented and pointed Gopi's room.
He didn't wait for her to try to stop him again; he just turned and walked down the hall to Gopi's room.
