Aham was stunned. He felt himself break into trillion pieces. Never in his life had he experienced such pain. His suffering after learning that Gopi was Chirag's daughter was greater than any other insults pain in his life. He could not imagine Gopi as his sister. He would rather die than accept Gopi as his sister. He moved towards his mother who was visibly crying and sat near her and asked: mother I had questioned you many times about the identity of chirag. At least tell me now who he is. Please, mom, I have never requested you something so desperately.
Kokila wiped her tears and looked for a long moment at her son. The pain she saw in his eyes was unbearable for her. She never denied her son anything and now it was time for the truth. She told him:
Aham, I know there are many rumors about the relationship between me and chirag. I never minded it because it was not the truth. Those who knew it like kept it as secret because of me. Chirag is the true heir to this modi emipre.
Relief washed over Aham. He was like a person rescued from a tsunami. For a few moments he thought that his life has ended, but now it was as if he was in heaven. More than anyone now he had the rights for Gopi's love.
Kokila was like a eldest daughter to the Modi family. since the modi's did not have a child after seven years of marriage they took in kokila who was a orphan. after her arrival their business flourished. though she was not legally adopted, she took the modi surname since it gave her pleasure.From an young age kokila was determined to prove that she was strong and she had no intension of leaving her home. The unexpected birth of Chirag changed her a lot. First he was born ten years later, next she lost her mother after his birth. Instead of hating him, she loved him with her whole heart. She gave him the love of mother. Now kokila was more determined that she will never marry, even if she is forced she will marry a person who is a loser and whom she can control. More than that she was resolute that she will not change her name r her children's name. she wanted always to be a Modi. Parag Metha filled the bill. He was poet and writer dreaming to be successful and working at the Modi office. He had no family except for a sister. So Kokila pressurized her father to marry Parag.
Life was smooth for Kokila. She dominated everything. Her desires were fulfilled even before it were formed. Her whole world was her brother Chirag. But fate always has some other plans.
Chirag had never known his mother. He was born to father who desperately wanted a son so he was ready to sacrifice his wife. Kokila showered him with her love. But it was in her own way. He loved her and respected her. He felt that his duty was to fulfill her desire. He realized that kokila's desire was to enhance the Modi business empire. At a very young age he joined the management and started to build success. He never did anything without Kokila's approval. People joked that he used to breathe only if Kokila permits. But love changed him.
It was Dashra and Chirag went with his sister and brother in law for Dandiya. There he meet a sweet girl and fell in love with her. He learned that she was not equal to him in richness but it did not stop him from loving her. Hetal was frightened when Chirag expressed his love. He knew very well about kokil and her obsession for money. But chirag's love melted her. One fine day Kokila found out two secrets which changed her life to the present situation.
First she leant that her brother, loved someone without her permission and second her father under the scheming influence of her sister in law was planning to marry Chirag to her. She weighed both the pros and cons of the situation. Kokila had never liked her husband sister from the beginning. She saw her to be wicked to the core and kept her brother away from her. Hetal thought not rich was everything she had wished to find in a bride for Chirag. She was easily dominate able. So she decided to talk with her father and fix the marriage between Chirag and Hetal. She was in for a rude shock. Her father refused for the first time to her idea. He wanted Chirag to marry the girl of his choice r else he threatened to disown him.
Kokila created a plan. She forcibly made misunderstanding between herself and her brother. She made her father write the whole property into her name. She had a different plan. Chirag was heartbroken to see his sister so selfish. He decided to leave home with Hetal and executed it. Without anyone's knowledge he married Hetal and took her to meet his friend Lakshman Kurana. He told him everything, how he was cheated by Kokila. Their father was dejected to know that he was the reason for his son's elopement. He died an inconsolable man. Kokila began to search for her brother. She converted the legal share of the property to Chriag. She knew that her brother will not believe her till she showed him proof. One day by luck she got his number and dialed him. Chirag was reluctant but when he realized his sister true love, and why she had done whole thing he wanted to meet immediately. Without even informing his friend started on a journey to meet his sister. But his journey was not complete. He lost his life and that of his wife. But there was his daughter, the living example of him whom he had sent as a gift to his sister whom he loved.
When Kokila finished there was dead silence in the hall. A slow cry brought them back to reality. It was Aham who first saw Gopi standing near the pillar and listening to the whole story.
