Part 9
Gopi has been working with Aham for two months now and she knows everything about him, his likes, dislikes, what makes him happy,sad or angry just like Aham also knows everything about her. Gopi brings breakfast and lunch for him everyday and he simply loves the food she makes. Aham is the only person apart from her family members whom she is this close to but she still treats him professionally and does her best not to let him know how special he is to her. She knows she needs to concentrate on completing her challenge and she has to hide her feelings for Aham for the time being. Gopi is also very close to Aham's family members as she has been to their house several times now on koki's request and they all love her. They all know that Aham loves
Gopi and they all approve of his choice.
It was initially decided that Gopi's brothers will come for the presentation after a month but gopi extended the trip to two months as she realised there was still a lot to be done before Aham's presentation is done to perfection. She was very happy today as her brothers and sisters were coming and she will be seeing them after two whole months. She never expected it to be so hard to stay on her own as she has never been away from her family before. Gopi woke up very early and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for her and Aham and she also prepared lunch for her brothers and sisters to take to work with her as they would be there by lunch time. She went to get ready once everything was packed and rushed to open the door with a smile on her face when she heard the doorbell.
Gopi: Hi Sean how are you? Come on in. Can you please get the food from the kitchen and I'll grab my handbag and laptop in the meantime?
Sean: Hey angel. I'm fine thank you. You look very happy today.
They made their way to the car after gopi enabled the alarm and locked the front door. Sean started driving and gopi was going through the presentation file one last time to make sure she did not miss anything.
Gopi: How's sarah? She was due last week right?
Sean: She's fine and she's late by one week now. The doctor told us to get her admitted tomorrow morning if she still does not go in labour and they will have to operate.
Gopi: She will be fine don't worry and just give me a call anytime you need me ok?
They reached the office and sean helped Gopi carry all the food to Aham's office as aham and gopi have been sharing the same office since she joined his company. Gopi knocked and went in followed by sean.
Aham who was already in and waiting for his laptop to load looked up and smiled broadly.
Aham: Hey angel. Kaisi ho? I was just about to call you.
Gopi: Good Morning Mr Modi. I was actually surprised ke ab tak aap ka phone kyun nahi aya. You normally call me as soon as you wake up, when you reach office, when you reach home in the evening, after you have your dinner and before going to bed so I was wondering if you are not doing well today... She said cheekily..
Aham blushed: Kya karoun angel tumhare bina mera koi kaam hota hi nahi hai. Tum mere dil ki har baat mere bina kahe hi samaj jati ho. Sometimes I wonder how I managed before meeting you.
Sean had kept everything on the coffee table by then and he asked gopi if she needed anything else.
Gopi: Thank you so much sean that will be all. You are officially on leave for the next 3 weeks from now on.
Sean: But what about your security angel?
Aham spoke up before Gopi could say anything: Angel is my responsibility from now on sean. You don't worry about her safety at all and just take care of sarah and the baby.
Gopi smiled: Don't worry about me sean. Mr Modi will never let any harm come my way. Don't hesitate to give us a call anytime you need us ok?
Sean thanked both of them and took their leave. Aham turned his attention to gopi as soon as the door closed behind sean.
Aham: Breakfast do na angel bohot zoron ki bhook lagi hai.
Gopi went to the coffee table and started unpacking the breakfast she made.
Gopi: You missed dinner again didn't you?
Aham gave her a guilty look: Actually everyone was asleep by the time I reached home last night and I was too tired so I went directly to bed.
Gopi: How many times have I told you not to miss dinner like this? It's not good for your health. You need to eat and rest properly after working so hard lekin app meri baat sunte kahan hain?
Aham walked upto Gopi, took the plate of food she had prepared for him and sat on the couch.
Aham: Acha baba I'm really sorry. I'll make sure I eat something before going to bed from now on no matter how late it is. Please don't spoil your mood and have your breakfast before it gets cold.
Gopi took a seat next to Aham and started having her breakfast without saying anything. She was still upset with Aham and decided to give him the silent treatment for not taking proper care of himself. No matter how much she tried but she could not hide her emotions from him sometimes and Aham just loved it when she scolded him and corrected his mistakes. He knew she had feelings for him as well but she would not say anything till she completes this challenge and he was ready to wait for her.
Aham: Ummmm... This food is too good angel. You are a great cook.
Aham knew she was giving him the silent treatment again when she did not say anything so he tried his best to make her speak to him. They had now finished eating and Gopi was putting everything away.
Aham: I'm sorry angel I promise I will take proper care of myself. Ab to mujhse baat karo.
Gopi was not listening to Aham instead she was thinking about the day when Aham was sick and he nearly collapsed in the office. She had to rush him to the hospital and he had to stay there for two days. The doctor had said it was due to overwork and not enough food and rest. Gopi had been worried sick about Aham and she stayed with him in the hospital to take care of him. That's when she realised how much she loves him and could not bear it if anything happened to him.
Aham held Gopi by her shoulders and made her face him. He knew what she was thinking about when he saw tears in her eyes. He really wanted to hug her and comfort her but he knew Gopi ko yeh theek nahi lage ga.
Aham: I'm fine now angel and I've been taking better care of myself. Aur waise bhi jab tak tum mere saath ho mujhe kuch nahi ho sakta. Tum jo ho mera khayal rakhne ke liye.
Gopi's tears started flowing when she heard him saying all this. She was having a hard time to hide her feelings and she was afraid she might blurt out everything to Aham.
Aham wiped her tears and stared into her eyes: Hey that was meant to make you smile not cry. I know how you feel angel and I also know that you won't say anything till you don't complete that challenge. But I'll wait for you no matter how long it takes and I'll always be there for you. Now please be a sweetheart and give me a smile.
Gopi gave him a watery smile and stopped crying.
Aham: That's my brave girl.
Gopi placed a hand on Aham's chest: Promise me you will take care of yourself?
Aham smiled at her: I promise sweetie.
Gopi smiled: I think we should get back to work now. I've checked the presentation file already and everything is fine. Aap please ek baar check kar lijiye woh log ateh hi honge.
Aham: Ok you go freshen up and i'll check the file one last time.
Gopi went to the attached bathroom to freshen up and Aham went back to his desk to study the file.
