The jazz style music created is really delightful. Shantanu took us back to 50's 60's with his song "Kaisi Paheli" in Parineeta and again he has done it with this song. The song is so rich and full of so many instruments, it's so playful. The Bass, piano, flute, trumpet, Spanish guitar all come together bringing back the memories of the same 50's music that had the international music touch and which became a craze then.

kaisi paheli was a copy too!!!😆😆

You are right too. It is difficult to get that magic again - that freshness, that newness...how to describe it . It could be because the lyrics are not all that great.

The only recent song which took me by storm in recent times was "jeeya dhadak dhadak". It didn't sound like an attempt to recreate an oldie and yet it seemed timeless.

You are so right "Jiya Dhadak Dhadak" is timeless it will still be one of the most beautiful songs of this decade. It was the uniqueness of Rahat's voice as well that enhanced the song even more.

Yes lyrics are not so great. Except for the title song lyrics I did not like others much.

But still somehow I found the music composition, though inspired in many of the songs 😆, to be really very nice. Maybe because I can't stand drum beating songs. These songs are so different from those. Has the melody and is very soft too.

Sonu and Shantanu again takes us back to the Golden Era and if you listen to the song the composition will remind of the maestro's of that era. Shantanu tried to keep that effect as much as possible in this song. Sonu though I felt was bit uncomfortable in the song but maybe I am wrong.

Yeah...i felt that too. Actually i didnt like the composition at all. I have a feeling that Sonu didnt like it either.😆
The other tracks are good.

Yeah! He attempted to do a Rafi Sahab there but all the brooding was kinda annoying

Great Post Didi. 👏

Although, I have sent you the links to this album, I cannot comment on the songs right now because I got hooked to "Thirak Thirak" so much that I did not listen to the other songs properly. Just listened to the Mukhra and then "NEXT".

I will post my comments later on. However, I feel that Shantanu Moitra has done a wonderful job in bringing back the essence of Salil Chaudhury in "Thirak Thirak". Lets not compare the songs with the creations of SD or any other music directors of the past. Those days were different, taste of music was different, and a lot of things were different too. Just like Shantanu Moitra could not bring the SD days back, similarly SD wouldn't have been able to compose the gems like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Suroor, Aashiq Banaya, Jhalak dikhla ja. 😆 😆
