Just like Shantanu Moitra could not bring the SD days back, similarly SD wouldn't have been able to compose the gems like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Suroor, Aashiq Banaya, Jhalak dikhla ja. 😆 😆

😆

That it Appa. We always end up comparing today's composers with the past ones when we find similarity in the compositions. We forget that times have changed. Starting from instruments to taste of listeners have all changed a lot. But even then if someone gives us such an album, one that is giving more priority on melody its always better.

As far as inspirations goes. Yes some songs are inspired here. But I somehow don't have much problem with that. In every 10 sngs 9 are all inspired these days. In this album I got the melody and thats more than enough for me. As Appa said even SDB or Salil would have found it difficult to create OOOOOO Surur or Aap ki Kashish.😆

And we would have been so much better off without OOOOOO Suroor, Aashiq banaya and Jhalak Dikhlaja! 😃

You bet I am going to compare with SD and Salil if the score has been lifted from these very composers. Where is the magic? Where is the freshness?

I agree that it is a welcome change from OOOOSuroor.

But these Shantanus and Sandeshs have to work a little harder to come up with a little less inspired and a little more original tunes.

😆 Generation gap , generation gap....yeh aaj kal aur aaj ka khel hain....melody melody hain...kab kaha kaise kisne banaya kya farak parta hain, so long its appealing to the ears..

Let me share a real life incident here.😳 I have an aunt who has a very interesting habit. Imagine something very interesting or funny being told by somone. All are too engrossed listening to it and appreciating it.As soon as its finished being discussed... she would leave a BIG sigh, bob her head on both sides, again sigh and then say...."those days, kaha gaye woh din" and bobb her head again..... it was really funny , thereaction and everytime it wa sthe same one.In fact we were all so tuned with it that after that anytime such a situation arised and as soon as she took the big sigh.... we would all start bobbing our heads, take the sigh and say the same thing...."those days, kaha gaye woh din..." and sigh again just like she does... it really drove her mad...but it was so funny😆

It might bug you but to say that it is as irritating as Jhalak Dikhlaaja! I am shocked to say the least. Agreed that many of Kishore's songs have been played over and over again, so some of his songs which are actually masterpieces have got jaded because of over-use. All one needs to do is to listen to them after a long gap, so that they sound just as good as they were.

I think Roop Tera Mastana is quite a path-breaking song for Hindi cinema. The song suits the situation and it has been sung extremely well by Kishore.

Somehow I get the feeling that I have heard a similar bengali song before (atleast the mukhda part).Cant recall the bengali song title... . Can anyone help?

Adi if u listen to it again u will find the beats at the starting remind of two songs. Bichhua song from Madhumati and Hotho pe aisi baat main chhupa ke chali aayi 😆 The beat has been picked up from there and maybe that is the reason why appa felt it brought back memories of salilda.

And Chale Aao Saiyaan reminded me of Mohe Panghat Pe Nandlal.
