Yeah...😃 true...in fact iot reminded me of one more song.... hare re re re mai chhere de re dere....the second line jemon dhara something something...the jemon dhara part is similar to the behak jaane de kadanm...

Agreed that many of Kishore's songs have been played over and over again, so some of his songs which are actually masterpieces have got jaded because of over-use. All one needs to do is to listen to them after a long gap, so that they sound just as good as they were.

I think Roop Tera Mastana is quite a path-breaking song for Hindi cinema. The song suits the situation and it has been sung extremely well by Kishore.

See i like this song roop tera mastana even the composition but its true that there are many songs from that era which irritates even me.Raat akeli hai and Mungra song both are not to my liking...and there are many more such songs. Jhalak even i cant stand😆

But we hv to remember that just as Roop Tera was path breaking for hindi cinema, songs of Himesh or other such contemporary composers are the same too...even they hv been path breakers. Maybe not liked by many but we cant take away the credit too.....U cannot expect the same quality now as we had then more because the music trends hv changed. even if these composers use the same instruments or style the modern technology based music, which is followed presently will make sure they are diff.....

Tastes hv changed and so these composers will hv to change their creativity accordingly....but as long as they give us melody and not noise 😆 i am fine with them. And as far as inspiration from legends goes i feel why blame just them...even these legends hv done it so many times.....yes freshness is required i too agree...Santanu brought that freshness in Lage Raho munnabhai and the other album made just before this one (cant recall the title just now)....

Good attempt of fusion.. I felt there is also a carnatic music touch to the song.. also the qawalli sounds similar to tere darr pe aaya deewana from veer zaara.. Dont know, maybe its sounding so to me!!

Yeh Nigahein - Sonu Nigam, Antara Choudhury

I would have liked someone with a little heavy voice like Sunidhi to be the singer rather than Antara Choudhury.. During the the Antara, both Sonu and Antara's voice is not synchronizing with each other.. 😕

Chale Aao Saiyan - Shreya Ghoshal

Loved the song.. The song seem to be inspired from the mujhras of the golden era..

Khushboo Sa - Hamsika Iyer

Same as Yeh nigahein.. And yes as everyone said, its inspired from kaisi paheli also this song sounds similar to Asha and Sanjay Dutt song.. I dont remember the song.. But sounds similar..

O Re Paakhi - Soni Nigam

Inspired from his own - "Piya Bole" and "Pal Pal".. This songs seem to be a combination of both..

Sakhi Piya - Pranav Biswas, Shreya Ghoshal

Loved this song.. One more classy of Shantanu.. This also seems that we have heard the song before..

Thirak Thirak - Soni Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal

Isnt this song inspired by Hum toh bhai aise hain from Lagaa chunri mein daag?? 😕

Thanks a lot for the songs Appada and Didi.. Loved it 😊

My favorites - Sakhi Piya, khoya khoya chaand, O re paakhi 😳

After hearing the songs many times, I have started liking "Yeh Nigaahen", "Khushboo sa mera saanson" and "O re paakhi".

I hope and pray that this album is well received by the public. It will pave the way for more MDs to try their hand at this kind of music.

Songs are nice, but sound a little artificial to me, like most of SM's songs including the ones he has composed for 'Parineeta'. He is influenced a lot of by 'blues', 'jazz' and of course 'Rabindra Sangeet' you can tell. I wonder what RD and SD would've said to his songs? 😊 In this era of HR and Anu Malik, I'm sure they'd have appreciated his efforts. Still... something lacking don't know what. If this is generation-gap, then so be it. But, I prefer to dig back into my music collection of 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s anyday!

Yes, but if you hear the songs a couple of times, the odd feeling you get initially, starts wearing off and you begin to enjoy the songs.
