But there is already a selection process where the top 20 is chosen.. Moreover there are atleast 20 countries performing as a team but here we have more contestants from one country and less from the others.. Is it fair?

it's obviously not fair. but as i said before... remember how VS had trouble finding good contestants in south africa and in the end they only found one worthy contestant, imran aslam, who never went too far in the competition.

and anyway, i don't think it's exactly which country the contestant has auditioned from.. i think it's the origin of the contestant: and most of the contestants are either from indian/pakistani descent. i mean, you didn't see any white people auditioning from places such as north america/uk... so i think the term "world cup" doesn't exactly fit right with srgmp c2007.

in conclusion, you could call it a type of "yudh", but def not a "world cup" of any sort. 😃

I believe Vishwayudh is just a fallacy to attract TRPs and claim on being the biggest and most versatile musical show. But it is Mahayudh for sure😛.

i remember there was once a "World Idol" in 2003.. an international version of the television show Pop Idol, featuring winners of the various national Idol shows around the world competing against each other.

i think both arabic and english songs were sung in the competition.

I totally disagree with the topic and I feel this is the vishv yudh in the correct sense. They had singers from South africa and Canada but they were not good enough. So they are out. Dont forget that SRGMP is about Hindi songs and the contract to is for a hindi album. Do you expect them to get singers from Japan or China ??? They went to all places which have a decent hindi base like Canada & US & Dubai & South Africa. I think the only other place where they could have gone was the west Indies (but US is very close for those interested) and maybe they could have gone to Australia (but its not a big market for Hindi music and movies so thats out).
Its not their fault that they could not find too many decent hindi singers in these foreign countries (maybe due to accent) but the show does represent the singers globally and so it is a vishvyudh.

That is what is my point too Anshu.. Yes we had singers but they were less while singers from India were on the major side..

Then you must not call it Vishwayudh - there may be singers who are much better than those selected from other countries

may be they hav but will have pronounciation problem as they don't speak hindi. n if u see Indian Idle 2 singers hav come from Nepal. both of them hav the same problem. Here at least people hav good deliberation. they r even can speak well. If u call other singers from other parts. first of all people will not enjoy bcoz of different language

Hahah I was thinking the same thing.
The one representing US doesn't really make me proud 😕 🤔

If they still kept Amanat as "Dubai ki mahaballi Amanat Ali." Then it would have been more vishwayudh-ish.

I agree that one from South Africa, and 2 others from US or Canada got eliminated.. But if we closely observe from the start, there were more contestants from India and less from other countries.. So is it not an injustice??

Now if we see the example of Cricket World Cup, there are many countries and they work as a team.. If the team looses, then they are out of the world cup.. According to me, the same format should have been followed here also.. With just one contestant from US, and others from India and Pakistan - Can it really be called as Vishwayudh??

Is it only me who thinks so, or is there anyone who supports me one this issue?? 😕

No one is gonna sue them for using it,,,so they use it liberally... I ever think it as a vishwayudh.. to me its an indian singing contest with some talented participants from Pakistan,
