But, why not give a standard rating chart to the judges with different categories that they need to give marks in?

That chart can be then passed on to the mentors so that they know which areas contestants need to improve in.

E.g. of some categories: Melody/Rhythm/Diction/Feel

This is exactly what I had proposed in the first contest. But Apparao took it to mean that I was giving instructions to the judges about how to do their work. Maybe the time for this idea had not come at that time. 😃

That was my question after the 1st round's Result. How Do I know Where I have been marked less, What are the areas I need to improve. What are my flaws and how do I rectify it. What Kind of songs suits my voice? Unless I know my flaws (Constructive feedback) How Do I improove?

I think If we know in which area we lack, We can improve on our coming performance.

I just read Bhaskar's post in the Mentors topic for round 5. Seems like round 4 will not be rated by the judges ..?

I strongly feel that the organizing team should consider reducing some future rounds as necessary depending on how many participants are left. Few new rounds were added so why not reduce a few now ?? That way the contest will move ahead faster. Also we can save a lot of time and effort required from all of us(contestants, mentors, dev team) if we do not have to record songs for the round that will not be judged by the judges...just a thought .... 😊

That's true, if we get to know the elimination a little bit earlier atleast, then the member can be informed ahead of time of their elimination and so there's not a need to post the recording..... do i sound too vague ?

Ammmu, Before the 2nd auditions when there were 4 participants in each gharana there were fewer rounds. So the rounds like Lori, Patriotic, Groovy etc. were added later after each team got 6 participants 😊

Yes - Aparna is right Ammu.. As for announcing the results earlier.. Well the judges need their own time to evaluate and come up with the results, and we do not want to waste more time between they coming up with results and then we submitting the songs for the next round.. Hence this arrangement.. Hope I made myself clear 😊

Huh...song submission date for round 5 is now Mar 23. Its going to be a long wait, almost a month. Just hope that we don't loose any more participants 😆 😆

When I decided to participate in this contest I thought it would be over in 3-4 months, lekin aaisa lag to nahi raha hain ab 😃 Well, I will have to figure out something as I may be travelling to Mumbai in early June. 😃

Oh accha, theekhain thankoo Jaya ji, that's right bhul gayi ki there were more rounds added..!!

Aparna ji you are right, maybe number of rounds do need to be reduced because as for submission deadlines, we can't predict them since sometimes contestants are away or the mentors are away. So that of course is unpredictable... but definitely, to make the contest run smoothly and not be so long, reducing 1 or 2 will help !! 😃
