Round 4 - Contest Feedback- Podcast Added

Hey Priya thanks for the feedback!! Yes you said it...I too felt I could've made the 'baccha voice' more authentic 😊 And this was one of the several recordings my mentor-ji finally okayed and that too after many rejects 😕

Will try to work on that next round!

Oh btw, I had plans of singing 'Chhuppa chuppi ho chhuppi' by Lata and Manna De and wasn't too sure about 'Meethi meethi', but my mentor prevailed (as usual!) 😆

Fab work Sarita 👏 as usual.... just one comment - to make it perfect - you need to just highlight that bacha voice in the lines which come in between.... particularly "mehnat se din raat padoonga" and the "meethi meethi" Hindustan ki shaan banoonga"..... and must compliment you on the song selection. Each time, you select the one song which is most appropriate for your voice, and which is unique.👏👏👏

Nicely sung Nik. But I feel you did not sing to your potential this time. I am sure you can do much better. Sachcha Koi sapna deja... this part needed more work. Maybe bit more practice to get the grip on the sur.

Contestant: Suhana (Inaayat4)

Well sung. Again a big improvement from last time. 👏 You need to practice more. Best is select the song as early as possible and then work on it. Practice it as many times as you can. At places your sur was not okay and it looks like being sung without practice.

A rendition that was flawless…😳 just outstanding😳😳… While the song was rendered technically correct from all aspects, what stood out was the very warm motherly feeling in the entire song… Simply beautiful 👍🏼 – I wish the original song had more stanzas, and we could have enjoyed your song for a longer time..😳 anyways, I have been listening to it again and again now…👏

I think a very good song selected this time, and a wonderful improvement from last time.😊. Try to see if you can practice stealing a breath somewhere in between your lines, so that you can continue on a single breath for a line.. But otherwise, very good..👏👏👏

Very well sung again👍🏼… But I again found your voice little strained at the higher notes… Just try singing in one scale lower… I think it will come out a lot better… Also just a note on the pronunciation of some words like 'pair' and 'sair' in the mukhda.. these can be perfected I guess.. But, overall – very good 👏

Well sung Nik… A wonderful song chosen😊… U did fall out of sur at a few places, and also at places I felt that the voice did not flow very continually from one line to another… Loved the place 'Halka phulka shabnami'😳… Practice more, the competition is getting tougher now… I am sure u will do better in future rounds..👏👏👏

Your voice appeared very very clean in the song😛… Just like the clean song… I thought u did slip on sur esp when the antaras started in all the 3 times … But your voice is very very sweet, and the sweetness was very well used in the song…👍🏼 Practice more, u can do wonders 👏👏👏

Very well sung! This seems to be a favorite song for this round.😛.. I loved the humming between the stanzas…😳 There were places, I guess, u had little bit trouble holding breath, but overall that was very minor… A very good performance…👏

Good work. The high notes in this song are very difficult, but you've done well.

(Just a note. Lavanya's songs when getting recorded is giving a background humming noise. Can anyone here give some advise as to why this is happening and how to remove that. She has tried using other softwares but still the problem is persisting.)

Overall: These contestants are working hard and showing a great deal of improvement from the previous rounds.

I hope that the others submit their songs before the deadline. It would be a shame to lose so many of them at this stage.

thanks for the very positive feedback. About the continuity, I had that same comment from somebody else. Is it mainly the pause between 'Udan khatolein' and 'mein' that you are referring to? There are 2 versions of the song, one which is mainly sung by KK and Lata joins in the middle of the song (the other version has Lata as the main singer). In the KK version, the pause is there when KK sings. I guess the music that is playing makes up for it. If you notice, when I sing the Lata parts, the pause is not there. I could have sung the whole song like that but I wanted to be faithful to the original version as much as I could

from you posting in the mentor thread, it was not very clear why Sunitha dropped out. Was it a technical problem (like mike not working)? It would be a shame to lose such a good singer at this stage.

Hey Asish - yes I knew the mukhda is rendered differently by Kishore'da and Lata'ji in the original and I was not pointing that out.. What I felt was at the antara... In the first one, there seemed a little extra pause between 'mere yaar' and 'bhara dukh se'... same with 'sukh kaun' and 'bada tujhse'.. but I think these were more like breathing gaps... so its fine... Dont get me wrong, it was too good a rendition, I was just pointing out some of the finer points that I felt 😳
