Where are the moderators????

Is the moderator looking at these posts? I guess you have been selected and or volunteered for this position, then pls. take appropriate action against people who are so disgruntled that they don't know what discussion is under way!! Is it the singing we are talking about here or are we discussing personal traits... Moderators, pls. gag/block such posts... One other thing I would like to point out is some people are plain nasty, they do not have the thinking power hence are able to comment within 2 sentences which do not make sense, pls. use your right to block such people... I know they can come back under another name, but one doesn't have to be a Sherlock Holmes to guess their writing style..

Kangaroo, did you want JL or AS to win? because you know they would have not entertained any other singers, but their own, it is not difficult to read their minds from the behaviour they have exhibited throughout the latter part of the competition that however good a singer was, if he belonged to any other team other than their own, they would put him/her down... I think HR was fair to a certain extent.

My assessment about the show:

Zee TV :
Good viewership at prime slot > More Ads > Higher price > more revenue.

Bottom line: numbers.

Remarks: Do they care for the future of budding singers, not likely. Next year new singers will come, India has over billion people and proportionally talented individuals too, so getting talents each year is not a big issue. Take a cue from Antakshari, it turned out to be a good cash cow and so will be this show.

Music Directors :
Viewership > Popularity > Chances of more hits > Increased Fee > More Revenue

Bottom line: numbers.

Remarks: Same like Zee TV. They do not care much about these singers. If any of them become good, soon they will increase their rates and they will again go back to the ones who are cheaper.

Judges: Time spent on the show > Revenue + Regaining lost popularity for some

Bottom line: numbers.

Remarks: Have nothing to do with the contestants. Most of them are leading their retired life and with a good viewership (plus hefty fee for coming to the show) it is obvious why they are there!

Contestants:
Break> Popularity> Career > Revenue

Bottom line: numbers.

Remarks: They have everything at stake. They are in a win-win situation either way, if they win the competition or not. They have got popularity and they can use it whichever way they want.

Viewers:
Entertainment> discussion and fighting over who will win and who will not (like in this forum)> etc.>etc.>etc.

Bottom line: nothing (?!?!?!!!!)

Remarks: What is to gain from this man? Move on and just do not fight over this. We have nothing to gain and nothing to loose!!!!

Conclusion: Have fun and don't take it to your heart!!

Koyal,

I think fairness is subjective....always open to debate. I wasn't cheering or jeering any particular gharana or mentor. As long as the best singer WINS and the best get a fair chance to compete, the challenge 2005 will be a fitting end to what has already been a great concept and show so far.

Irrespective of the outcome of the Brahmashtra round, we already have 10 very capable contestants. So the next few weeks are going to be entertaining, if not anything else.

Ok, not to start an argumant here.. but I feel whataver HR did was his right.. he had the Barmastra (or however you spell it) and used it. Lets see:

- DILSHAD - Was way better than Niladri when he got booted off. So HR called him back. Fair enough. Besides, Dilshaad was HR's first pick anyways.

- AISHWARYA - Well, we all saw what happened to the poor guy when he was eliminated. He sang WAY better than Abhijit that day but was denied an entry into the next round due to some controversial judgements. Agreed, Abhijit is a far better singer than Aishwarya but if one goes with that assumption than what was point of having the three (Paresh, Abhijit, Aishwarya) even compete in the first place? They should have sent Abhijit to the final round directly. Like AS said, all that matters is how you sing on that particular day.

- PARESH - Again sang better than Abhijit that day and still was unfairly eliminated. So HR again must have considered him unlucky and braught him back.

As for Vishwaas or Abhijit or Irfan or anyone else, none of these guys got eliminated when they sang better than the rest. They got eliminated cuz someone esle sung better than them that day.

As for girls, HR was very fair when he called upon girls from all the other Gharana's. If he wanted to be partial or cunning, he would have called back all his contestants leaving no space for anyone. Think about it, he got the right to choose, he made the choice. Even if he had chosen all 6 from his own gharana, no one could question him as he had the right to do so. Now, if one argues the fact that there were other deserving candidates, well, it is Mentor versus Mentor. They all want their Gharana to win and they all want to have the best singer come from their own Gharana. And that was the point in choosing the contestants in the first place. If HR had braught back all his 6 contestants, he must have done this based on his convictions that he would make good singers out of them, afterall, that's what every mentor believes in, right? Also, you guys should keep in mind that HR was the one who voted for Vishwaas in the very beginning. He actually gave a thumbs up to Vishawaas during the first round selection while putting down Shaarib. And also went on the record to say that it will be injustice if Vishwaas went out and requested that he be put on the stand by list. I don't think HR was partial at all! Had HR not rooted for Vishwaas, the guy wouldn't even have had made this far in the competition.

If AS or JL had gotten th Bramastra, I can guarantee that they would have called back all of their eliminated contestants.

I agree that Himesh did make unbiased selection..he did call girls from other gharanas because he thought they were more deserving...but remember he never hyped his girls because he knew that they were not deserving. Among boys...i will not say he was partial but i do feel that there were better singers than Paresh, Aishwarya and Dilshaad who got eliminated. The brahmashtra round did not set out to correct the mistakes which had happen earlier but was introduced to bring back candidates who are good enough to compete in the finals...which i think vishwaas was- it is just my opinion and i am sure that many agree and many disagree with me. There was injustice to aishwarya but that does not mean he is a good singer...the same is true for the other two. Infact, i think these three are very mediocre singers...
