It is a pity we don't know about the name of the instrumentalists on the only show of this kind, if any one could please provide the name of the instrumentalists I shall be grateful.
Girish is lead/rhythm guitarist.....I think.
Bass Guitar has only 4 strings , that player is different.
Both keyboarders are excellent , subtles effects they produce is superb.

I am looking fwd to tomorrow's episode, where 3 girls and 3 guys will be called back by bramhastra and 1 girl and 1 guy will move to the agnipariksha round... I only hope that whichever mentor gets the bramhastra does not become partial and call back only his gharana candidates, but actually consider who deserves to be back... BTW, the previews shows Salman Khan to be there in this week's show! What is he doing in a musical contest???

The participants of Dus Ke Dus...

Idol, Gurukul come together
Tuesday, November 01, 2005 | Television

Finalists of two top reality shows to participate in Sony's Dus Ke Dus Le Gaye Dil

Reena Thapar Kapoor

After the unprecedented success of Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul, Sony has decided to do something new altogether. It is now coming up with a show called Dus Ke Dus Le Gaye Dil. The show will feature contestants who made it to the finals on both Fame Gurukul and Indian Idol. Immensely talented participants, who came from all over the country, participated well but couldn't win the coveted title are being given a second chance.

The Dus Ke Dus... candidates, ready to croon their arts out are Prajakta Shukre, Aditi Paul, Harish Moyal, Rahul Saxena, Ravinder Ravi, Arpita Mukherjee, Shamit Tyagi, Arijit Singh, Mona Bhatt and Anubhav Suman. The show goes on air from November 4 every evening at 8.30 p.m till November 18.

Tarun Katial, Sony's business head says, "The idea is to re-package the popular faces and voices in a new experience. We at Sony are definitely into reality music contests. Besides Indian Idol 2 which will be a bi-weekly, we're gearing up for our big game show Deal Ya No Deal, also a bi-weekly, which goes on air on November 23."

What about launching a new soap? It's been long since the channel has come up with a new show. "Sony is certainly going easy on television soaps. But it isn't that we're completely off it. In fact, our new daily Ek Ladki Anjani Si is going on air from November 4."

Talking about Dus Ke Dus... he says that the idea is to give the contestants a second chance. "They couldn't make it earlier but were certainly promising," says Katial. He adds, "They are going to compete with each other. The concept remains the same, whoever gets the maximum votes stays and the one with least number of votes gets out. The amount of money that they generate through the votes goes to Prime Minister's Relief Fund."

Another striking aspect of the show is that it will be hosted by Mandira Bedi and Mini Mathur. Both will be seen together for the first time.

"Dus Ke Dus... is show for a good cause," Katial says matter-of-factly. The man says that they are expecting a fabulous response for it as it brings back the junta's favourite singer celebrities. The anchors of the show - Mandira and Mini will be all decked up in designer saris and exquisite jewellery.

I know this is not a post about SGMP- but since we all love music- this is something to see and for SGMP old timers there is Rahul Saxena in this.

pmahesh, Thanks for the info.

Actually, I quite like this idea. This show will showcase the other talented singers who were not fortunate enough to win, to show their talents once again.

Wish SRGMP directors also think of something similar, so that not just the two winners, but the rest of the other talented singers can get their right breaks.

Aishwarya and Joyeeta back! That would be too bad... SRGMP will miss talents like Ujjaini and Vishwas...

But isn't the 3rd and 4th Nov show supposed to be a contest for the different participants who are trying to make a comeback? Hope it is like that, and may the audience vote for the best singers in..

This will be great.. Atleast SRGMP should try and bring out a CD of the best songs that have been sung in the forum by different singers, much like they had done for II and FG singers.. This weekend, I saw a SRGMP challenge 2005 CD in PlanetM, but there the singers seemed to have sung some of the songs from their mentors movies.. Also, the CD does not say who has sung what - Just says something like 'Woh Kisna hai - ID camp singers!'

Salman makes TV debut with Challenge '05
By: Tushar Joshi
November 2, 2005

Salman Khan
Zee's musical show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005, has a new face — making his small screen debut is Salman Khan, who's been roped in to mark the beginning of a new interactive round.

Says Zee's programming head, Ashwini Yarde, "It feels great to have someone like Salman on the show. You have to see him to believe how much he got involved on the shoot. His knowledge about music really took us by surprise.

After each performance, he told the contestant about the way he sang the song. He even invited them home to watch the show with him."

Powerhouse performer

Salman's dances have always been a talking point in his films. Adds Yarde, "His energy and spirit is unmatchable. All the contestants were in for a big surprise when they saw him dance to their renditions."

The actor commented on his experience on the show by saying, "I have never witnessed such exuberance on any other show. I think each contestant is equally deserving and my vote is with every contestant on Challenge 2005."

Apparently, Salman was very impressed with one contestant, Paresh Madhaparia, who's come to take part in the show from the UK. "He told Paresh to stay back in Mumbai and pursue singing rather than going back home," adds a source on the Challenge.

Interactive round

Another addition on the show is the launch of an interactive phase. Called the Bramhastra round, the initiative involves six contestants who were voted out, but have been called back by one of the mentors — Himesh Reshammiya.

Among these six contestants will be two who will make it back to the show. At the event, Salman scribbled his choice of contestants after witnessing the performances of the six and sealed it in an envelope.

To get viewers involved in the voting round, the channel has offered two lucky winners (who's choice of vote matches with that of Salman) to spend the entire day with the actor.

Salman makes his television debut on November 4, at 10 pm.

Thx for the update Priti. So looks like HR has finally got the Brahmastra. Also, since Paresh seems to have performed, HR has just not called backhis own gharana singers. I would like to see the following called back

Boys - Vishwas (AS), Paresh (ID), Dilshad (HR) - Like Aishwarya and Abhijeet also, but only 3 will be called back

Girls - Ujjaini (JL), Vineeta (ID), Sanchali (JL) - I think HR should not be partial in calling back Joyeeta, as the one above are much better than her.
