The six singers from the friday's episode competed against each other out of which 4 of them got green card and the two singers were shown red cards meaning they are out of the competition.

The singers-

Nanu (HR)- Na jatko julf se ....sang ok.

Supriya(HR)- Abke sajan sawan mein from chupke chupke.....sang it well but faltered in some place with regard to sur...the playfulness of the song was missing.

The mentors said that nana sang ok but jatinlalit mentioned that they noticed that there was a strange quiver in his voice. Supriya was ok, ismail was not impressed. Himesh said that he had selected some other song for nanu but nanu wanted to change it two hours ago and it is himesh's fault and he should not have allowed nanu to change it.

Saptak (JL)- Ye jawani hai diwani........sang good but aping kishore completely.

Manjira (JL)- Tore naina form Lekin....i think she sang very well...very strong on the classical bit and also with lot of feelings. I think she was the best of the day.

Aadesh said that the singers should make effort to have their own style and not copy someone (regard to saptak). Himesh did not comment saying it may sound biased. Ismail said that the songs chosen were very good but he did not like their singing.

Debojit (ID)-Tum jo mil gaye ho.....sang ok but i thought he sang better on the last day.

Aadesh thought it was good, jatin/lalit said that the rendetion was different from the orginal one and the romance in the song was missing. Himesh thought it was good.

Raktima (AS)- Tere liye palkon ki chadar.....i did not like her rendetion..it is a very soft romantic song but i thought she was just delivering the right notes.

Jatin/Lalit said that the song is sung in a very soft voice and whispering tone which was missing. Himesh just made a pt that the singers should not think that they are bieing criticised because they are from other gharana but for their good. Ismail darbar liked the performance.

Finally the judges- shiv hari gave their verdict- supriya and saptak were out.

Saptak was very sad and kept on crying...jatin lalit said that though he was out of the gharana, he can come anytime along with the other participants.

We just saw the gharana allocation for female contestants. It was very interesting. Ismail Darabar was quite fortunate to have got the best of fortune. Nihira was everyone's hot favourite - hope she keeps up her billing.

Tomorrow (Monday) we will see the first contest. Next Sunday we will see the one which you have illustrated above.

We saw FG last night - it looked pretty melodramic and artificial. I read the 'FG - exposed' news - people have already started reading between the lines - I am not surprised - everything in life is becoming so commercial - materialistic. I hope Sa Re Ga Ma Pa remains pure!

they have too many emotions angle..less of singing. indian idol had a lot
more singing than fg....saregama though not at the same level as when sonu
was the anchor is very strong content wise...their selection is very good.

We just saw the first contest - indeed it was intoxicating program - far better than FG. Nihira sang very well and so did Manjira (except minor hiccup). From the brink of elimination Vishwas has established himself very well. Saptak was ordinary. Look forward seeing the yellow card holders performance next week.

Can anyone tell the name of the film from which this song was sung by Himani (of Delhi - she is IN adesh's ghrana and loves sufiana style of singing) in the selection segements - "Ishq ki kaisi majbooriyan!!"

Its from movie 'Popcorn kayo mast ho jayo'. This song is also there in Amit Sana's 'Chal diye' album!

On the basis of performances, who do you people rate as the strongest candidate for the finals and which gharana is the storngest.

I feel Nihira is a certainty for the finals so should be Hemchandra. Gharana of Ismail Darbar is stonger on cars but Adesh Shrivastava pose strong challenge.

Here in NY we just saw the Pts Sharma/Chaurasia episodes today and yesterday ie Mon Aug 8 & Tu Aug 9. We love SaReGaMaPa so much that we record it, if we are going to miss it. I thought today's episode was better than yesterday's. I also liked that the Mentors were more frank today vis-a-vis each other and not just sugarcoated like yesterday.
Singerwise, I am a bit disppointed in the whole lot except a few like Vishwas, Nihira, Abhijeet, Himani and a couple more. Anyone remember Ronkini, Shoma, Rishikesh, Rahul Saxena. They were so much better. I really think Ronkini was the best. Does anyone know what she is upto?

My God! How can Sydney and NY think exactly alike? For a second I was surprised as if I had written the mail. Sa Re Ga Ma is the main reason we have got the cable connection. We still have the recorded programs featuring Abhijit, Shoma, Ronkini and Rahul!!!! Rahul, Shoma and Ronkini were very good and are being sorely missed. I have high hopes from Abhijit (has he performed already?) - he has to be very careful with selection of song. Pt Chaurasia and Pt Sharma are legends and are so down to earth.

Ronkini and rahul saxena were really great, they both featured in Indian idol as well. Rahul reached the last 10 stage, ronkini was eliminated in the earlier stage.....Saxena is one of the best singer....ronkini, vishal, rahul are friends and they use to practice together.

But i don't like abhijeet (i think he is the guy who use to be with bandana in the earlier series), i think he is very mediocre and can only sing one type of song.

Among the girls- i think ismail darbaar's team is the stronger one but in boys i think aadesh's team is stronger.
Nihira among the girls is very good closely followed by joyita from assam and twinkle (these are obviously based on the initial round).
