Shocking Shocking and Shocking...Not that Viswas and Ujjaini are out but Irfan and Keka are in! There must have ben some reasons which are beyond our undestanding! Irfan is not at all a good singer. He might be sincere and hardworking but does not sing at all good. Very flat and very emotinless. Keka is good but compared to Ujjaini, no match!!

What is happening here? I am sure Daler must have bribed SRGMP organisere to get him in so that his tarnished image is restored. He is a history anyway and talking of Sur, he could not sing any song in sur himself. Tunuk Tunuk song of his has so many flaws. He sounded good not because of his voice and vocals but because of too many instrumentals playing together in background! So what to expect from this kind of undeserving judge! He was scolded by Jasraj many times for his stupid comments!
Who next as judge? Rabri Devi, Mayawati or Jaylalita?

But anyhow there will be some more eliminations among blue cards as well, right? Irfan will be the first to go then!!! I hate his style of singing, reminds me of beggers singing on the locals!! No emotion but only sur!Sorry nothing pesonal to him but that is how it feels! 😡

I live in the US and i saw the episode yesterday in which Nihira and Vineet got green cards. Putting Daler Mehendi along with a stalward like Pandit Jasraj is a joke. Daler seemed pompous and it was surprising to see him call Nihira "ghamandi". i did not feel that she was acting "ghamandi" at anytime.

But what pissed me off completely was the attitude of Adesh Srivastava and jatin-Lalit. first of all, AS was trying to make fun of Himesh by saying that "y dont u give Vineet a chance and make him a singer like u said u would....". it seemed like AS was taunting Himesh and it looked in bad taste. All Himesh was trying to do at that time was to encourage and show support to Vineet and whats wrong with that ?

after that Lalit said about Vineet - "first try and sing in the song properly before u try ur own harkats" - this after been said so many times that all the judges and the mentors like originality in the voice. it looks like Lalit was after Himesh's boy just because Himesh has been saying stuff about the "injustice" caused by selection of Abhijeet who from Jatin-Lalit gharana.

but worst was when Ismail Darbar made some comments about Ujjaini. even before waiting his turn, Jatin , in his trademark style stood up and started saying that Ismail is wrong and that Ujjaini sang better than Ismail's girl - Nihira(who was without doubt the best yesterday...). Isnt Ismail entitled to his own opinion? isnt that the reason why the mentors' comments are asked after every performance ? i think it was wrong of Jatin to butt in and make a spectacle of himself. Jatin-Lalit are the seniormost music directors among the mentors but they are behaving like children.

I just joined today. I enjoy reading views on this forum.

Nihira has been always my favorite from the time she sang Dil Ki Girah on Sa Re Ga Ma. I was wondering what made Daler and Pt. Jasraj think that Nihira has attitude?

The fact that AS and JL are continuously saying that their singer sang better than Nihira, proves that they take Nihira as best performing standard. They have definitely complex from Nihira.

Hats off to all participants, their parents and mentors for contributing to music. Challenge 2005 has become event to be remembered forever and Class apart programme.

AS and JL need to really grow up in terms of behaviour. ID is my favorite, best mentor.

I came across this Forum very recently and have been following the discussions here. This is my first posting.

I saw the 1st episode of the third phase where Vineet and Nihira got green cards. We, in USA, are a week behind so I could see it only yesterday.

What prompted me to post is the choice of judge for this episode. Daler Mehdi??? I mean DM of all????? -- and that too with Pt. Jasraj-ji. I was not just surprised but I was amazed and terribly angered. How in this world SRGMP put DM next to Pt. Jasaraj-ji? Are they out of their mind? Panditji is the epitome of Indian classical music, THE MOST DECORATED person in Indian music world today-- PandmaVibhushan, Sangeet Martand, Sangeet Kala Ratna, Sangeet Sapta Sindhu, Kalidas Sanman -- the list is endless. DL is may be a popular pop/bhangra artist but he has a questionable character (he was caught in illegal visa scam a few years back) while Panditji is the most respected music personality, the doyen of Indian music and the best known cultural ambassodor of India today. By putting DM next to him, SRGMP has insulted Panditji.

I agree with Venky_iyer that judges need to have some qualifications to get on the judge panel of SRGMP. They should be well respected music personalities with other manadatory qualities such as those listed by Venky. They should command highest respect from both the mentors and the participants for fair assessment of the participants singing (not the presentation) skills and providing then with inspiring, valuable advice. They should critic the participants and NOT criticize them. DM, Suresh Wadkar, Sameer did not fit the bill. Even OP (with all due respect to him) and Jagjit Singh were ineffective. Kavitha Krishmurthy, Shiv-ji and Hari-ji were the only right choices.

If SRGMP continues to get these kinds of judges, I am afraid we will soon see other deserving candidates out of the race. I am deeply saddened to see Vishwas and Ujjaini out. I think Vishwas sang better than Vineet in round1. I am now afraid that at this rate we may even see Sharif out soon.

Hey Guys, I missed today's episode... Well, I already know the results but can anybody tell me what do blue cards mean... I remember Shaan saying at the end of yesterday's show that from now on contestents will be getting blue cards as well...

From the 3 rounds of the third phase, 6 will directly go to the final, 6 will be eliminated and 6 will get blue cards. The folks who will be back with "brahmastra" ( 2 or 4??) and these 6 blue card holders will then compete for the 2 remaining spots in the final.
