Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ shoot faces disruption after clash in Prayagraj

The filming of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do in Prayagraj has run into controversy after reports of a violent altercation between locals and members of the film’s crew. Viral clips circulating online show chaos near the set, though there has been no official confirmation from the makers about the incident.

One widely shared video appears to show three men assaulting a crew member. In another clip, actors Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana are seen in an intense exchange, though this seems to be part of the shoot rather than the altercation. According to accounts on Reddit, the fight allegedly broke out during the filming of a car sequence. Locals reportedly objected to the shoot, and a verbal spat escalated into physical violence.

Speculation around the assaulted man’s identity has only added to the confusion. While some online users claimed he was the film’s director, no evidence backs this claim. Others suggested that the scuffle quickly drew in more locals, with attempts at de-escalation failing.

Reactions online have been divided. One Reddit user questioned the lack of tight security, writing, “Bina security ke kaise shoot kr rhe the yeh (Why were they shooting without security)?” Another pointed out, “Police wale the toh location pe. Uske baad bhi hua (It happened even after police were present at the location).” A different user commented sarcastically, “Prayagraj ka naam raushan karta hua Yuva (The youth making Prayagraj proud)!”

Meanwhile, production details about the film continue to draw attention. As reported by Pinkvilla, unlike the 2019 Pati Patni Aur Woh, which featured two female leads, this instalment will introduce three Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra.

Although linked to the 2019 film starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, the upcoming movie is not a remake. Instead, it has been described as a fresh story under the same franchise title.

Ayushmann Khurrana, apart from this project, will next be seen in Thama, a Maddock horror comedy slated for Diwali 2025.
