i like nihira joshi a lot right from the time I heard her sing in early 2003. i do not think she is mechanical, but everybody is entitled to their opinion, so be it.

This kind of derogatory remarks about participants or slander is not fair and uncalled for. If you don't like a singer. Say so and be with it. You don't have to use derogatory remarks to insult young budding artistes.

What do you know about how Irfan was selected from thousands of eager contestants? Do you think he reached this stage with 'beggar style of singing'?

C'mon buddy, have a heart...Try to encourage young talent or try to mould them..don't curb or insult them!God bless you!

I think the main aim of the competition is to bring fresh talent to the industry. Having said that, Ujjaini did not deserve to lose. However, she has won in her real life. AS has already given her a break. That is what they are competing for, a real life break and a real shot at their career. Lets hope she makes big.

hey funtush, good to know that Ujjaini is being given a break by AS. she does have a nice & clear voice.

in terms of getting breaks, challenge 2005 has been the best so far, many people are getting breaks (nihira, twinkle, himani, rajiv, dilshaad, nanu, ujjaini, etc.) the previous saregamapa contestants hardly got any breaks. that's the reason why the achievers list in saregemapa homepage has only 5-6 names. hope this list grows to 10-12 atleast because of challenge 2005.

i like rahul saxena winner of golden voice hunt. he did get a break from HR owing to this win, but nothing note worthy - he had to go to indian idol. although he couldn't make it to the top 5 there(he did not have the X factor), he is much more recognised now and is getting some contracts, in terms of publicity, sony tv is far ahead than ZEE. also people like bela & mohd vakil who got chance to make thier own CD's were unheard of-Thank's to Zee's zero publicity. even now, challenge 2005 is a much superior programe than FG. But the publicity & hype FG (or Indian Idol for that matter)has, compared to Saregamapa is unbeleivable.
anyways thanks to zee for giving us a such a wonderful programme.

I see the acting related reality show winners fizzling away faster than the SRGMP contestants. This is real thing and there exists a real vaccum in terms of fresh singing talent who can make a mark. Singers like Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi have made a career out of singing in such talent shows.

what exactly u want? and how any one from this forum can teach u? if u want any info about classical music.. well i can share with u.. i dont pretend that i know much.. infact i know nothing.. but i do listen classical music, film music ghazals a lot.. so if i can help u a bit, i will be very happy, but please tell what type of info u want?

this is very popular raga, played in the morning
invented by the great tansen, also called as miya ki todi..
few poular examples are
" raina beeti jaye"== amarprem
" main to ek khwab hoon"- himalaya ki god mein
" duniya na bhaye mohe"- basant bahar
" mujh ko is raat ki tanhai mein awaz na do ( not sure but think so)

there r more variations fo todi..
Bilaskhani todi- bilaskhan was tansen;s son and died very early, when he died, tansen started singing his fav raga todi and by mistake he used shuddha madhyam instead of teevra (shuddha madhyam is 1/2 note lower than tevra)madhyam and invented this raga and then named after his son...

jhoote naina bole- lekin

gujari todi

ja ja re ja- lekin
savro savro- meera's bhajan

and some others like bhupal todi and bahaduri todi

I saw the episode where Ujjaini and Viswas were eliminated. I sincerely thought Keka song very well compared to Ujjaini on that day. Esp in the Dwand Yudh round, it was very clear that she had more command on the sur and her voice was very clear. Ujjaini was a little weak and her voice was trembling. I am now more satisfied with the decision. But I still cannot comprehend Irfan's victory. In Dwand Yudh round, it was very clear that Viswas sang better and his voice quality is so much better. I also liked the way Keka and Viswas spoke. They behaved so much more sophisticated than all the other contestants. Viswas should have gone to Fame Gurukul. He would have definitely won there. He has such a graceful stage presence. His performance is so much better than all the contestants in Fame Gurukul. Hats off to him..

I have been trying to play the keyboard and sing along with raag Yaman,
Raag Barvi & Raag Bahrav.
But then I do not still have a good sence of sound to play songs.
Any help. I myself do not know what am I looking for.
I need a GURU to teach me, but if there is some help there would like to
get the help
