I cant understand why the participants of Saregamapa are always in western attire. Even when they are singing traditional songs they are dressed in extremely hip clothing. I am not sure I am feeling this way because I am from the western world but I think it looks inappropriate - specially when they are dressed in sweat pants and hooded tops singing traditional songs. Or dressed in leather - top-to-bottom, looking like a members of a bikers gang.

I feel Indian clothing is so beautiful, colourful and classy and should promote it thorugh such shows.

I agree with you 100%. Indian dresses are fashionable and liked by Foreigners more than Indians these days. But, it is pathetic to see participants wearing(or forced to wear) irrelevant dresses on a traditional stage like SRGMP.

Initially all the participants were wearing sensible clothes. Once the public voting and performance has started,everything changed. There is no choice for the participants in this I guess.
