Many of the songs from Daman.

Someone mentioned Yaadein. You know, the title song has a pretty tune, but the words make no sense to me. I understand them literally but they seem so banal that they do not work as a song. I think great lyrics make take a pretty song and move it into the 'great' category, and the Phir Milenge songs, Khulke muskurade and Khushiyon ki koshish, illustrate this difference.

I think I mentioned that sumwhere.. Phir Milenge Songs were just fantastic..its not just Khul Ke Muskurale, even Jeene Ke Ishare, Betaab Dil, a song by Vijay Yesudas, all nice songs...

Even Le Chale from MY Brother Nikkhil is good..

I do remember that. That is what reminded me of this song, actually. I think the Shankar-Ehsan-Loy songs are better in Phir Milenge, but of all of them, this one has a special quality... to my mind.

I feel that success of a movie at box-office plays a big role in success of its music. If the movie is successful then chance of its music being success increses greatly, it is rare that the music is succesful despite movie getting hammered at box-office.

Asoka, Banaras, Yaadein, Kisna, Holiday, Khakee etc ko utni appreciation nahin mili jitni milni chahiye thi, kyonki yeh movies box-office pe chali nahin.

I also liked Meenaxi's songs. "Der se hua" from hum ho gaye aapke is a song I heard about 4 yrs after its release! I liked the song and I also liked "Pyar ke liye" from dil kya kare...Rest I agree with others.

I loved the song 'Yeh rishta kya kehlata hai' from Meenaxi... There was this another song 'O Priya suno priya' from 'Arjun Pandit' I guess that was beautiful..

Ya, I like Pyaar ke Liye too.. lovely track..
another beautiful tracks are those from Sangarsh.. Mujhe raat din and Dil ka Qaraar were beautiful songs..
SolidSnake ji, i dont agree with the movie being hit theory completely.. take the music of ABA...agreesive promotion made the music a hit, but movie a flop.. same for Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.. wat dance tracks..gud ones..people know them but the movie was a flop..

Err! Madhavi ji, What I meant was that generally if a movie becomes a hit then its music also gets a boost, it sells for longer duration. Whereas if it is a flop then even if the music is superb, its chances of being successful lessen. There are exceptions but they are rare.

Does anyone remember 'Rooth ke humse kabhi jab chale jaoge tum' from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.. There were 'Pehla Nasha' and 'Yaha ke hum sikandar' that were more popular, but I personally think 'Rooth ke humse' was the most touching song of the movie..
