Abhrokanti was absolutely great... I think he was better than Abhash, who won the kids special.. Its just that Abhash was older and had a more matured voice..

Wishing Abhrokanti all the very best in his singing career..

I think the singer was Bhaumik..correct me if I'm wrong.

No. bhumik sang bheege honth tere.

you are talking about chaitanya a very young lad - i had loved his kaho na kaho rendition - the arabic lines were just too good.

Like PardesiDoc said, it might have been a kid. He was younger than 16-18 and had a different voice (more of a qawali kind of voice) and sang this song very well. Lost in a later round to a very innocent faced sweet kid who used to have a tika on his forehead. Alas, I remember their faces but not their names 😕

In one of the previous schedules of saregamapa, Piya Haji Ali was sung, and sung extremely well by Abhijit (who has been knocked out of C2005). Infact, he sang it so well, that after listening to him, I listened to the original, and realised that Abhijit had done a better job. He didnt peform as well in C2005 as he had once done in an earlier schedule of saregamapa.

I dont understand why Gajendra Singh (or whoever else is responsible for the fate of saregamapa) is messing things up towards the final stages of C2005, when it is most crucial and all good singers are up against each other.

First of all, if the hunt is for a playback singer with a new voice, what role does "performance" play in it? The singer has to express the meaning of the song through the song, not swing and dance while recording the song in a studio (which the public will not be able to see anyway). All this "performance" is ruining the songs for the contestants. As many of the judges and mentors had pointed out earlier, first you should be able to sing well, then if you can and if you want, you can swing and dance but it should not affect your singing.
And this "performance" thing should not become part of a competition that is looking for playback singers - its not an Indian Idol, competition, for God's sake.

Secondly, judging should be left to people who understand and are trained in music to be able to identify subtle differences between singers. They should have brought all the judges and mentors together and judged the contestants. It should not be left to the audience voting according to popularity. Again, this is NOT an Indian Idol contest, it is a hunt for a playback singer and should be judged based on the ability to sing only for which a lot of technical stuff have to be taken into account and should not be left to the general masses to judge based on whether they are from their own region, or can dance well or looks good or talks well - these are not the required qualities of a good playback singer.
Yes, there should definitely be a classical round (saregama used to have it earlier) and it should be judged by people who have been trained by classical music and who can decide whether a raag has been sung correctly. About 80-90% of the masses probably have no training in classical music - how can they ever judge how good it is?

Saregamapa is totally messing up the competition by making the judging process so frivolous.

I CANNOT believe that Raktima was elimited despite the fact that even though she is not one of the best but she is definitely much better than Ujani or even Twinkle. Raktima has a very good voice and if she gets good training can indeed achieve perfection in her singing. I am sorry to say that Public voting is messing up entirely. All the wrong people are being eliminated and the reason probably cause they don't look good or don't know how to act in front of the audience.

Thanks all, it's a great feeling that at least there are some people like us, who think differently.

I have been watching the show and truly believe that "public voting" is indeed messing up the whole contest in the final stages of C2005. I am sorry to say the organizers don't even understand the meaning of VOTE "You can vote as many times as you want to" DO THEY ?? If this is the case, I can vote somebody all day for next few days and make him win despite of the fact that he/she may not be the ideal candidate (??), where does all the talent hunt go?

Moreover if you look into the voting percentage, I feel that somewhere there is some mis-calculation, Debu is around 28% where as his nearest rival VINIT is 13.44 %, (sounds ridicules, isn't it ?? ) I would urge Gajendra Singh or whoever incharge of this to be more sensible and would respect more if they take some appropriate steps.

Just my 2c's
