Thanx for the updates Priti.. I think the performances this week were much better than last week..

Nihira was certainly the best for the day and everything went perfect for her, she deserved the perfect 10 from all the mentors.. I think Himani sang very well as well, and that is such a beautiful song.. Yes, Ujjaini was not upto the mark.. She really needs to work a lot on her singing if she wants to go ahead in this competition.. Swananda was just about OK, again I think she has really not been impressive for quite sometime now.. And I don't think her voice sounds like the great Asha Bhonsle that people keep talking about.. (Also not sure why she keeps mentioning her husband in every episode, I dont think any personal factors should influence here!).. Twinkle was bad and should go this week!

Among the guys, I think Hemachandra and Sharib were great (Even I was surprised that Imran hashmi was Sharib's favourite singer, but as an afterthought, may be they just chose the sing first and then thought that this was their favourite song 😊 ).. Debojit also sang very well, I think his voice modulation was brilliant.. As for Vinit, I think he tried to pick the sing from a very high scale and his voice cracked at few places.. Paresh and Rajeev were just about OK.. Again, these guys will need to work a lot harder to stay...

But I think, overall.. it will be Twinkle who will go out this week, unless Zee thinks that it will be alternate between guys and girls every week.. In that case, possibly Rajeev should go..

pmahesh are you singer by profession? I tell you you are very good at your comments. The mentometer is stupid, I go by your comments when I see their performances.

Any trained ear would tell in no time that the contestents are singing over tracks, the prerecorded instrumental back up for the song( this is different from Karoke singin). WHEN vineet was singing Lakshya song, It struck me immediately because 1. quite complicated bass guitar notes were being played to perfection: not usually possible in live performance
2. different recording modes of keyboards are being uses in tracks , in another song ,I heard sequencer program of Roland keyboards being used: quite unusual in live performance

3. digital drums is using different tones of snare etc. for different songs
4. : sound mixing & engineering is unparallel!! again not possible live................

I am afraid of one thing...

All these contestants are staying away from home and being made sing once in a week and made to practice everyday for both singing and performance...

Being upcoming singers will they be able to resist the pressure and tension to consistantly show their talent..

What happens if the good singers lose the charm of their voice in the last 2 or 3 rounds to get the crown...?

saregamapalover, the way this works is that z-tv records a few episodes at a time and everyone then break off for a bit and then record a few more and so on.

i don't like twinkle too, her expressions are always over.
i remember when alka yagnik told her, she should concentrate more on her singing then expression.

Saw this episode in USA. When I heard Himani I was very impressed. But, when Nihira sang I was shocked. Unbelievable! More than ID's comments one should see AS's expressions. He seems to be speachless and did not know what to say and how best to praise. He was probably ready to give 100 out of 10. The other mentors had no words either. I personally think this was the best performance of the entire C2005. Better than even the much talked about Ujjaini's from Black and Sancali's 'Gusthakiya..'. If she does not win this competition it will be a pity.

I thought Twinkle sang at a different pitch and tried to sing like orginal song sung by JN. JL were the right judge to judge this song as it was their composition (I think). They did confess that it was a very difficult song. I think, probably, Twinkle chose a wrong song and messed it up as well. Let me also say that ID's critisism is a smart move. It may not be intentional though but good investment for the future. Now in the later rounds if he praises Twinkle and it WILL happen (mark my word!) the 'public' will accept it blindly. It is a matter of gaining people's trust and he has taken the right step forward.

Coming to boys, I was not happy with Hema's performance. I thought it was below par. I think Vineet and Debojit in that order were the best. Rajiv sang the song that he had messed up the very first time of C2005 (I think so). It seemed he sang good, but it was no were near the original. He seemed to have sung the simplified version of it !!! Sharib's voice will not fit all the movie stars. He can sing only specially type of songs. Like a Sufi style or Qawaali.
