There are immortal compositions(Bengali albums) by Salil Chowdhury and sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Many of those used in Hindi movies. There is a children's album in Bengali sung by Antara Chowdhury which is a milestone, no other children's album could beat it's popularity even today.

His hindi compositions I like most
Chota sa ghar hoga (Naukri)

Guzar jaye din din(Annadata)

Itna na mujhse tu pyar badha (Chhayaa) (I love this one inspired from Mozart's Symphony #40)
Janeeman janeeman (Choti si baat)

Na janey kyu (Choti si baat)

Koi hota jisko apna (Mere apne)

Kahi dur jab (Anand)

Na jiya laagey na( Anand)

Aye mere pyare watan (Kabuli wala)

Ja re (maya)

Tarveer teri(Maya)

Yeh bansi kyu sataye (Parakh)

O sajna (Parakh)

Mila hai kisi ka jhumka(Parakh)

Jago Mohan pyare (Jagtey raho)

Aa ja ri aa (Do bigha zameen)

Suhana safar(Madhumati)

Ghari ghari (Madhumati)

Aa ja re(Madhumati)

Dil tadap (Madhumati)

Bichhua (Madhumati)

Julmi saang aankh (Madhumati)

Nisagamapani (Anandmahal)

Kayi baar yu bhi (Rajnigandha)

Here are some recent links to Anwesha's versions of Salilda's compositions. In my opinion, only she can do justice to his compositions. And Nihira comes close.

Also what I really like about his compositions is his contribution as a composer in social awakening. His composition with beautiful lyrics "aaj noye goon goon" sung by Lata Mangeshkar is close to my heart and has inspired me in what I do.
Here is a piece from the website salilda.com
Mass Songs of Awakening and Protest
These songs (mostly Bengali) are Salil's political and social statements - musically and lyrically unparallelled. Salil called these songs "songs of conscience".To know and understand him, one must know these songs. Since he was a person with strong political convictions and social conscience, his songs rise far above other contemporary composers. A complete collection of these songs is very difficult to obtain. Quite a few songs from the '40s were never recorded and are lost. This section contains a small introductory article and a listing of these "mass songs". In the early '90s Salil conducted a 50-voice choir for the Doordarshan in Delhi and got his old comrade Yogesh to translate several of his "Mass songs" in Hindi. This programme has been highly acclaimed and is regularly broadcast.

Hi Pradarshak: I really love these songs you have just mentioned, to sum in one sentence these songs take me to another plane leaving the world behind, because we share same taste of songs so jadoo ki jhappi.....🤗.

here is guzar jaye din din,
Salil da often came to my friend's house in Calcutta in Begbagan area, he was fond of drinking and used to spend night over chatting and good food with drinks. One day he said some thing startling that he doesn't see Goddess sarswati any more in dreams which he used to when he was composing and living in Bombay, only next day he suffered a major heart attack and was admitted to Woodland hospital from where he never came out.
Dear summer thanks for the link on aa re mitwa (NSGMPDN) this itself is introduction of raag khamaj, this is a beautiful song.
