Thanks for taking this step, Vijay. Just ignore the people complaining about losing their spam posts on the CM rank threads. They shouldn't have been spamming in the first place. I've done it too but it's really annoying when some people get promoted every week or so due to spamming the CM rank threads literally every five minutes with posts like 'Zindagi Ki Mehek' and 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'. They don't deserve to be promoted just for making 20 000 one liners.

Would you please look into getting mods who actually look at their inboxes? For the last month or so, I've been trying to get the mods to update the cast list of Waaris and make some topics sticky but they've just been ignoring me. It's clear that they log in and don't even look at their inbox OR they only read messages from their friends/other mods. It's really getting annoying. I'm starting to think that Waaris is going to finish before the forum even has the leads up on the cast list. It also doesn't help that we don't have a DT for our forum or even a channel moderator for &TV. We always have to approach GMs who ignore us. Please do something about it.

@QueenKordeilia: Yes dear. Only the ones who haven't posted anything but created that account and wasn't online after that.. Those account would even be MIDs but wasn't caught.. I know what you mean.. but even the old FF's or Posts wouldn't be checked / seen by others, so it wouldn't be bad to delete them to clean I-F..

Or maybe some Forum which have less Topics and are closed.

And I don't think this will be implemented "really".. it will be forgotten after 2 months and people would keep their "thank you" spammings and there will be no one who deletes them as there are very very less active Mods around who even barely check their PM's and we will expect them to delete such posts? I don't think so.. And the spammings on R&G's Threads were really getting irritating...🥱

A certain forum has a serious spamming issue. One member (the only active member, in fact) creates about 50 - 60 topics a week just to increase forum activity. The worst thing is that some of these topics are thank you topics, repeats of other topics with slightly different titles or they're about irrelevant things like the number of forum pages. Some of the 'written updates' on the forum are only like two lines long. I don't think that it's fair that this forum is in the top 40 in CM rank.

To me, these sorts of topics are just as bad as +1 posts. Please do look into this when you have the time. Thanks.

Good initiative! 👍🏼 Should clear up unnecessary junk from all topics/posts and thereby ensuring minimum spamming. In addition to the suggestions already made by members, I'd like to suggest some more.

These were all thought of keeping in mind the dire need to curb hate & abuse, harassment, stalking, defamation, fan wars, etc incidents. I understand these will probably be difficult to implement as there'll be programming, networks, technical and other challenges involved but I'll suggest them anyway,

- Password protected threads for Invites Only Chat Clubs. Stalking incidents are on a rise off late which not all the time leads to correct or genuine reporting (as people tend to report for their own agendas) which in turn leads to warnings or shut downs of CC. Takes away from discussions despite it being a platform for the same.

- Hide/unhide & block/unblock features for topics or posts one may or may not want to see in the forums.

- Option that enables a topic maker to shut it down temporarily incase the discussion goes haywire and moderators are unavailable around the time. Topics can then be reviewed or closed permanently if required once a Moderator checks it.

- Reducing the workload on moderators (as its a job without any monetary benefits) by employing more admins from your team to handle serious issues (technical or otherwise) that may require immediate attention. Also, since you happen to be the only admin around and members may want to reach out directly to an authority at the upper level in your absence or unavailability.

- For a greater degree of fairness and effectivenes in the moderation system, when a member is applying to be a moderator, he/she can be asked to choose between the two positions. Either be a moderator or a member but not both at the same time.

Nice Suggestions dear! And I agree with you completely about this!

But what do you mean by the above bold part? 🤓

I'd also like to bring to your notice the same issue everyone here seem to be bringing up; Moderation. I'm sure you must be aware of it but since a couple of months (or more), many forums have no active DT's. Now, I very well understand that moderation is a no easy feat as you're required to put in a lot of time, energy and work into something that fetches you practically no returns.

But I have to admit that since this platform does have such a system, ensuring that at least a handful of moderators are around or at least respond back within 2 days isn't asking for too much. I do personally think that getting rid of the moderation system altogether and let one's own sense of good judgement and conduct prevail. That would perhaps make everyone's life easier but then I also get that it'd bring down this site's reputation, credibility, reliability and functioning a notch down. I had to endure and put up with a lot of unpleasant incidents to say the least. Only after multiple requests and complaints was the issues I was pitching reports about was dealt with. While I'm indeed thankful for that, I think we'd all agree that timely action in such cases is of utmost importance.

Also, I'm not aware if there already is one but could there be a topic opened that keeps a tab on the active moderators that members can check upon when in need of any assistance or to lodge reports/complaints if they're still unresolved after a period of time?

Supposing I apply for a Moderator's position, I'm supposed to pick between being a moderator or being member. I can't both be a member (go about posting, discussing and stuff) while doing moderation duties. You still technically remain a member (as in you have your account and that's what you use for moderation purposes obviously) but I can't do what any other member can. Reason? Suppose, I being a moderator stops someone from doing something and then I go about doing exactly what I stopped others from doing, that's likely to bring me under people's radar who'll attack me for being biased or unfair or doing injustice to the position I have been appointed for.

I feel members who keep spamming also should get WLs raised. Sometimes I report certain members to mods who ruin every thread by spamming but mods don't take any action against them. May be because there's no such rule that spammers WLs also should be raised.

Just One Question If A Forum Is Inactive. Like The SMMH Forum If No Members Visit It Then How It Will Move?
The Show Is Still On Air Should It Be Closed Down Due To Not Begin Active?
