@simran when mother wins, bahu will automatically wins but not vica versa. Hence for me Sat has to win as a mother, but for that she has to lose as a bahu. And yes at this point BD-Sudha-Satrupa does look like Charles-Diana-Camilla. Though Diana's death is a sad incident, the fact that she walked out of the marriage ensured her children got the right to choose their life partners, so in a way she did win as a mother and a woman. Else if she had remained in that suffocating marriage maybe William and Harry also would have to follow whatever tradition that royal family followed.
@mangothyme you are absolutely right. In the name of bahu if you ignore the foundation of the family ie being a wife well whatever you do the foundation will fall. Because if you are wife you are automatically every other relation as per the situation bahu, chachi, devrani, bhabi, you play all the roles as required. It is like being wife you are bahu, but being a bahu you need not be a wife. Wife is that relation that connects you to husband's family. If he breaks that relation you need to see what good it has come of being bahu, whether your husband's family stand with him or with you. There is a tamil movie Samsaram oru Minsaram. I love this movie where Lakshmi comes and ask in the end when all the problems are solved. You had disagreements with your son, but what did I do. I came with your grand child, none came to take aarti for me or the baby, none helped me directly when I needed help with the baby. So whatever I did for this house didnt matter. I am not independant , I am only connected with your son. Yes we lived separately and going forward also we will be separate. We will come during weekends, that is good for everyone concerned. It was one hell of a movie with the most relevant questions asked. Whenever I see Satrupa I am reminded of Uma, but instead of bahu, Uma was a wife.
