Bt hope makers stay firm on Channel not meddling with the story line of Reporters like thy didn't with YRF shows for TRPs!Bcoz its not TRPs for what Rajeev-Kritika signed and even makers made this show for quality show with a different take on story!All blame is on Sony for low TRPs. Its not popular nationwide for daily soaps. Plus the youth segment in which this show is popular hardly watch daily soaps on TV and mostly catch it up on Youtube. Change of timings before 7 wud fetch more TRPs!I think this is transition phase for Indian TV jst like films. Nxt generation is going to b fed up of daily serials, but I hope tht thy don't sacrifice Reporters for TRPs. It has sure won accolades and love of ppl if not TRPs.😳Sony channel is still not closed down bcoz its sister channels r doing so well especially Set Max so it can survive.Bt its a glaring fact tht its even below SAB!
On bold, true. Just like how a set of urban movie viewers found multiplex for their taste, a set of TV viewers want to find different soaps for their taste. Along with TV, TRP system also needs to change. That should be able to account of what is popular in what region (urban/rural instead of a unified score for a diverse country like India). Till then, these are experiments.
Online viewing; True, it does not contribute to TRP. But it does not contribute to revenue of the channel either (which has to produce the serial). From the viewers point of view, why should one pay money and subscribe to a channel, just to watch a single show which is only aired once a day. Instead, watching online is better. One can watch it anytime, any number of time. As a viewer, rather than subscribing to a channel where 90% are junk, I would prefer to subscribe only to one soap for much lesser cost. If such a facility is available, one can choose it from different soaps from any channel and does not have to feel restless, whether someone posted it online or not. Soaps like Reporters can survive, only with a better revenue collection (pay per soap rather than pay per channel) and that needs a better tracking system (TRP or whatever).
