A very reasonable take on the matter, I'd say.
I agree coz I myself have not been able to relate to Paro's character much right from after the initial few episodes. And that is me, despite being a forum-ian, where every action and dialogue is analysed in myriads of ways. Think how the average Indian viewer might be regarding this story then!

All thru the prev wedding track till now, I find her emotions haven't been portrayed in the right way.

Now too, I do find the track amusing but I still have a hard time understanding Paro's character. If I wer a TRP aunty, I don't think I'd have been very attracted to the show. Only in the last three epis or so has Paro's character shown some marginal improvement. Don't know how long it'll last though!

From the TRP perspective, before commenting on the show I would like to point out
The time slot is a tough one - because both the Zee and SP shows are doing well, While Colors can never compete with the SP shows as far as TRP is concerned, its real competition is Zee. The Colors 9 pm show lucked out as it was competing against a aging show and where the popular couple had quit. The 9.30 Zee show is still going relatively strong. Obviously the hope is that the Zee show will lose steam but hasn't happened so far.

On the story telling front,
a) The problems with PH has affected the story telling in the show- the loud and inappropriate BG score,
jumps in screenplay and loss of logic.
b) The first two weeks were outstanding but the decision to change it to a family drama has bought about the plateau in the TRPs and the Paro protection program was silly to say the least. I believe had they stuck to thier original track , they would have seen an
improvement in the ratings
c) Agree that Paro 's character has not been developed properly,

However, the current status in the story is a good place to BEGIN AFRESH. But I see the CVs making the same mistakes again, this Rudra suspension and the NGO thing lacks logic and finesse.
Get the seriousness back in the relationship.

I agree with your point that yes the show is more about Rudra and his story, his character is given more priority and he is being the one who has been given more importance. I am indeed loving the way the show focuses more on Rudra, being a woman its hars to say, but still for a change, something out of the box is being shown, and with so much intensity, thus it attracts me.
But i prefer to disagree with the fact that TRPs are low because the story is being depicted from the perspective of a man.
The TRPs of many other shows which are women centric are low too. RangRasiya falls flat because, the show has a dark theme.
Moreover, TRP aunties prefer men going to office with suitcases and women doing all the detectiveness and solving the problems, which is exactly opposite in this show's case. The change is new and futile, and viewers will take time to accept it, and the show also has tough competitors from other channels, and still if it is fetching 1.5+ ratings then it proves the point that how it definitely has a loyal fanbase, loyal audience, and slowly it will increase if the creatives continue with the same touch and amount of hardwork.
This will be regressive if the show is turned into a saas bahu saga and restricts Rudra into a ahem or suraj kind of useless characters to fetch TRPs.
If they are offering something new, they must continue with it, its not necessary that in one go they can get record ratings. The channel must promote the show wisely too.

Lastly, Ashish's presence is not overbearing at all, infact i will find it hard to watch the show if he goes absent for few episodes . He is the saving grace, may be thats the impact of his acting or his character of Rudra.

I agree with your points .. in fact for the first time I even cribbed about the show making a post saying this is not what I want and if a die hard positive fan like me cribs , then it means there is certainly some prob

Yes my main issue is Paro's POV is not presented properly and trps viewers mostly connect with female characters .. so if they r not able to understand Paro well , how can trps rise ...

Why did Paro wear that red saree .. we dunno ..

Why did Paro right after forced wedding , accepted it all happily doing her grihapravesh and other rituals without showing any emotions ... we dunno

Whether Paro is in love or just worshipping Rudra ... we hv a debate over it because we dint get a clear picture ..

Whereas Rudra's POV r presented properly where we know why he married Paro , or why he is behaving in this manner or what exactly he feels for Paro right now ...

Thats where the main problem is ... most viewers r not able to connect with Paro ... and this is where CVs got to work .. otherwise Marriage track should hv got the trps ... we dint hv any cricket matches either and so its a real worry now ...

Fab post. Hope somebody from the RR team reads this.
I agree the trp audience connects more to the story if its shown from a women's perspective. But here no emotions of Paro are being shown nor has her character shown any growth.
The story was promoted as being the journey of a girl who falls in love with someone who doesn't acknowledge the relationship and yet we hardly see what Paro is feeling. I have sort of accepted the fact that the show is indeed about the male lead.
Though I am really surprised at the drop considering that the wedding was such a high point amd yet it managed to make no difference. I'm not looking forward to see the ratings now that the ipl has started!

I think the cvs should show what they believe in if it fails ... They should end it in 1 year time period ... At least we get to see a good show.. Rather than showing useless tracks in other comparative shows I rather do some extra work at home.. And earn some money..

I think i dont hav to add anything further,, u said it all,,,

I will speak for myself,, being a TRP viewer,,, i watch the show on n off,, reason being i JUST CANT connect to PARO ,, not at all,, very shoddy characterization i must say,,, Indian audiences do hav a tendency to watch a show for the female lead, to relate to her, if a daily soap is in question,, I will honestly admit i m really impressed with Ashish n his acting,, he is doing a splendid job,, i do watch the show for him,, but then i want a good female character to look forward too,, n here is the main crux of the situation,, this show was advertised as a LOVE STORY .. but i dont find it one lately,, and we cant expect the typical Indian women to watch a show which is absolutely inclined towards a male character,, and here i am assuming that Indian TRP audience consists MOSTLY housewives,, they r the bst bet,, and the makers hav still not been successful to conquer this area,,

i dont know abt anyone else,, but no one at my home watches the show, just yesterday i was talking to my mom abt it,, she simply said tht she doesnt evn understand what is happening and half the time both Rudra and Paro keep on weeping 😆, i tried to convince her tht it was the past and everything is honkey dorey now,, but she has moved on to other shows,, it explained to me that ppl hav less patience,, they hav remote and they will switch on to other things which suits their mentalities immediately ,, I guess RR makers failed here,, they had ample time to reach out to ppl,, but...🤔

very good post NB
wholeheartedly agree
there is nothing wrong with the show or the concept or having a male prospective
the issue is with the strategy

i will post something that i posted in Exprimere thread and both of us got bashed for it , when i said the trps are not sustainable

And about trps of last two weeks it Is Cos of the promo and the shock .surprise the viewer strategy, make then watch one time ,
It Is generally used in low involvement products to increase one time

Like a good ad resulting in increased sales , but whether it is sustainable Is dependent on how well the product connects to the viewer

that is where the flaw is , there are losing focus , what we all found as you rightly pointed is a disconnect or lack of development of characters , as the focus is on getting the views and the numbers , but it will not work like this cos a daily soap works on the connect , we dont want to watch a show with character we dont like or care just cos the story seems interesting (or never seen before)
they will watch one episode cos of the wedding dress and leave it , they are not your primary audience
primary audience are then ones who will relate to the characters , like it dislike it get angry crip appreciate , if your statergy is resulting in potential primary audience quit , it is not a good strategy

these telesoaps that are most popular , they work on developing the connect and identifying the primary audience and catering to that target group , the process is gradual

we might not like it but cant deny there is a group for whom the show makes sense , this show lacks that group , because they wanted to be everybody's they ended up being nobody's
like when i make a show , i find the office track is not recieved well , i might modify it a bit that too gradually , that it fine , that is understanding the customer slowly , but here what they did is a full change to be all inclusive , that is creating the issue

Another major issue I think which this serial faced is that it was too serious for a long time without any lighter moments. For almost a month and a half, Paro was weeping and Rudra was serious. Also new viewers would have been discouraged as they would not be able to get the track if they had missed the initial episodes.
I feel however this show has managed to garner a LOYAL VIEWING BASE because of which its TRPs are stable between the 1.4 to 1,5.

Given the scenario, the only way to increase the TRPS of this show is to change the timing.
I would say shift the existing 7.00 pm show to 6.30pm(as it is anyhow not doing so well) and and shift RR to 7.00 pm
