Yup! According to my mom...and also legally...

Not an expert in the Indian Hindu Marriage act...but don't believe it requires a Pundit...you only need witnesses who can vouch that the said marraige actually happened...😃

Ur mom is an iF buddy like us... Now..😆...invite her to start posting on her own... We may see nice OS .. FFs..😃..

But yeah I had read in the newspaper about the high court validating a marriage which happened by just putting sindoor in the mang In. front of witnesses..since the intent was marriage...at that time..
That wedding was not registered but still acknowledged by the court.. Since the couple cohabited together after that..

If Rudra acknowlges on BSD that paro us his wife.. It becomes legit.. Since army records are government official records ..

As much I like sumair and his comedy act dude needs his ass kicked. I'm hoping Rudra can finally figure out who took the picture. Am I expecting too much? 😆

Sush,

Sorry for being late on your post. I saw the episode only yesterday. What struck me was the heavy sexual undertone in it. Apart from that I think I saw a glow when Rudra answered Maithili saying how can one forget the wedding. As if he is so proud that it is over and done with finally.

I expected Paro to land in the bed - but thought it will be because she will feel the cold. But the rat did the trick. What I did not expect was the hand holding by Rudra and pulling her towards him.

Rudra keeps open communication channels. He cannot tolerate any physical injury on her. She has no relatives (no great ones anyway) to whom he can be rude. I do not expect him to be disrepectful to her - like throwing her out of the room to sleep by the fountain (remember ODB) or making her do menial jobs. So apart from Laila I do not see how he can make Paro's life hell. Any thoughts on the same ?

I somehow feel this week is going to be turbulent. Let us all get ready for the nastiness.

Hi J...Good to see you!

Hmmm...I didn't sense the heavy sexual undertone that the post you sent me talked about...To me Rudy's actions seemed more spontaneous...and under the drunken stupor...where he was still trying to recover from the shock of losing the job and making a mockery out of the whole situation...even though he did enjoy the dominance over Paro...where she agreed to drink milk, as a part of the dare...but perhaps that's just me...who saw it that way...

I am anticipating Laila's reference to come back pretty soon...may be already this week...He has to put some meat behind the words ...Rudra will never be Paros...the 8th promise ...will probably be the first on the line for him to make a point on...

Are you in India by any chance ? Replying at this time of the day ?

Would like to know your thoughts on what else he can do to hurt Paro other than using the Laila card. Just for the fun of predicting and then checking later

She was talking about 'Dil', I think. A wonderful movie. One of Aamir's best films in the early part of his career.

About the marriage.. its certainly a valid marriage. Not only from the religious point of view.. per shastriyo Hindu law, too! Having read some basic Hindu Law in my Law school days, i know it for sure! Because the two essential requirements of Hindu law for marriage are -
i. invocation before fire
ii. shaptapadi

So it doesn't matter what he said in the vachans, what were in his mind or in what condition he was.. the marriage is valid.

And your mom is very much right. Marriage was the only solution of Paro.. She has been pushed to that situation by destiny (or CVS😉) ..If only CVs could also concentrate a little more on her pains (or whatever it is) that made her desperate to accept the fate as it came..

Thank you for the post, Sush! It was a good read!

Hey GPK!! Thanks for the clarification! I know that there is no formal power or authority vested in Indian Pundits to deem a couple married...this is in line with what you wrote...didn't realize that Shpatapadi was a requirement...
