Hi Guys...on popular demand ...Here it is...

My moms view of RR last week and the Shadi...,

So my mom was very happy that the Shaadi happened...

She said ...the girl had no place to go, and she wouldn't have gone anywhere anyways...because she had accepted the guy as her husband...so she would have stayed...and that wouldn't have been nice...So by marrying her...he has given her the social status she deserves...

Sush ...asked...but mom the way the marriage happened...what did you think about that?

To Sush's surprise...mom actually got a chuckle out of that...she was talking about some movie where Aamir Khan married Madhuri Dixit by burning a stove and taking feras around that...because Anupam Kher (the dad) would not approve of the marriage...Of course, I have no idea what movie was that...but to mom ...it was like OK...whatever way it happened ...it happened and thats what counts...

Then she also talked about Nootan movie and old one...where the guy realizes a long after being married to the girl...the importance of marriage rituals...Sush...was like...but mom doesn't I bother you that there was no pundit...and that the vachans were all...so horrible...?

Mom goes...In Hindu Dharma...marriages are done by having fire as witness...Agnisakshi...Pundit and all were added for convenience later...Even though the pundit wasn't there...the marriage is legit by Hindu Dharma...in her mind!

About the vachans ...she says vachans don't change ...whatever the boy may have said out of frustration does not matter(those really Dont count as vachans). Once you are married...the vachans are the vachans according to Hindu Dhrama...and she reminded me of the vachans I took when I got married (yes it was the Hindu way...) ...although I have to check on the net what those vachans were...I seem to have forgotten...😆

So there you have it...her view of the marriage...she was quite amused with the Majors 180 degree turn about the marriage...knowing how against he was of it...in the first place...In any case...she is very happy with the marriage and appreciated Kakusa and Maithali and even Samarat...in showing the acceptance...!

Overall RR and JA are her two most favorite shows ...with YHM being the third one...😃

Mom is still LoVING Poros character...will write a bit more about that ...here...

OK...mom TOTALLY loves Paros character for her simplicity and her strength...

She says...Paro is not complicated and does not think about things like...I was in the opposite camp before ( Thankurs) now I am with this camp...what implication would that have...how that would that affect his job...and all...For her it is simple...She misunderstood the major before and now she wants to be with him...and marry him...Thats all!

Paro does not do pointless debates...or scheme...there is a quiet innocence about her that mom loves!!! She is clear about her own thinking and that's what matters...

Mom praised SIs acting...this time and said...Her acting s much more polished and more impactful in this compared to IPK...and of course she thinks she looks gorgeous in the dresses she is wearing...moms favorite being the green and red dress in Ganesh puja and the red sari she is wearing now...😃

Lovely take by your mum sush 😃 I love reading them ...

The Madhuri / aamir movie is Dil ...I still remember the scene and the Tallis and whistles which erupted in the hall when it happened 😆

I don't know when have i started to rely on your mom's reviews - But now every week, hearing it from an elder, more traditionally oriented person who represents the TRP audience makes me feel so much better.

I don't know how much her views represent the TRP fully...Aruni...so take them for what they are...If the TRP world thought exactly like her RR will be on top of the charts...,😃

Gosh...! Sush's brain cells are dying...I have seen that movie...but no recollection of that scene...😆

I would add,...what she said was the stories in TV shows are not too far from what has been done in Hindi literature and movies before ( she reminded me of the novel Choudah Fere by Shivani) that had an accidental marriage...but she does love RRs way of presentation too!!

Lovely Post. You mom is Awesome. She sounds very happy with the marriage, even though it was dramatic. Just like us 😃. Hahaha, ya the major saab's 180 degree turn... She was right...Even we are amused and a bit confused by that... 😆

She likes stuff like JA and YHM no... which makes her a modern-wala TRP lady! 😃
