My thoughts exactly. Besides, she hardly knew her husband. He was almost a stranger to her. It's sad when women are so judgemental and that too of a tv show !!!
Great post. 👏

The fact that she does not cry continuously and insist on wearing white sarees, makes her character stand out from all the cliched heroines of Indian television. Unlike the rest she is calm, but determined, strong enough to convict the murderer of her husband. She also smiles innocently looking at the mirror which seems very realistic to me. After all she knew the groom only for 2 days and that too not for many hours. She feels the grief about losing her husband and be nostalgic about him, clutching to the mangalsutra when getting weak. That is enough to prove her widowed condition, rather than beating her chest ,wearing white clothes and cursing the entire world for her fate. That's what makes me proud of this character Paro.

Well ... Paro cried for a whole month... but let's assume she continues to do so... where is the progress of the story... a weepy cringing heroine and a quiet dark saturnine hero... someone has to change... so Paro was the one to change...also remember that she has been through trauma earlier... the same perpetrators and bounced back... so she has decided to take that route.

Would love some flashbacks in between as she goes through her trousseau however...

Nahiii! I do not want another sight of that lehenga! If she does cry looking at the legenga, it'll be because she's disgusted about it 😆

And I agree. People would complain about a sad heroine. Seriously, there can be no one opinion. Damned if you do , damned if you don't.

So Widow etiquette...each society has their own etiquette for every occasion and i am not gonna argue its virtue...
But where Paro Bai Sa is concerned her state of widow hood is to be mourned, her whole precarious future or lack of is to be mourned and more so the death of HER...(not so much varun who only was the promise of a life ) is to be mourned...
but do I wanna see her crying and crying and crying till days end when i turn on my telly ...??????

Also choice of clothes now that is a lol cos she aint have no choice or has no one not noticed that ...

But I must say that the portrayal of Paro has been lacking for me...
her emotions not conveyed the fact that her whole world is lost to her and Rudra her captor and the destroyer of her world is the only person she has...
the scene with the mirror ...I am confused by it she looked on the verge of a break down as anyone would be ...
but I think that was not what it conveyed it was meant to show a innocent child like Paro...now that after all of this if she was that then I'd say Paro was missing a few...
so yup writing screen play and acting for Paro has fallen short for me...(and i Mourn that more)

I think they should show variation in her character like come on she has just lost her best friend who was like her sister. She seems to have completely forgotten about her. Yes the widow thing is correct but atleast they could have shown some flash back of her friend. That would have looked natural.

Tangy, I disagree. The scene you found lacking is one of the scens I really liked in the show so far.

It showed that even in the face of adversity Paro can find happiness in something so small. And it is quite consistent with her character too. As a child Paro gave her doll and smiled at Rudra even after losing her parents.

I think those 2 scenes define Pari for me.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
