About Paro, I want to add, she is being portrayed as a simple and rather ordinary shy girl, except her beauty, because when this innocence is lost it will have a great impact. Secondly, there were two instances when I felt she showed glimpses of other shades in her personality- when she asked Laila about the third kind of men, which even left Laila surprised and when she refused to leave without meeting Bindi after her marriage, forcing Thakur to intervene and expedite the proceedings, so she has a voice but never maybe realized it or had the need to use it. So far Paro had a relatively sheltered life and she is not very educated, with limited means and she has not seen the world outside her village added to that she has a very shy and pliant personality, not bubbly like Bindi. The events we will see over next few episodes will be transformative for her. Sanaya is playing the role with the right amount of subtlety and sensitivity. She has brought so much innocence and naivety to Paro that she has already touched my heart with the temple scene, and Friday she nailed it.

Wonderful points you've made showviewer! In the past, when I felt Sanaya was not performing up to her standards, I said it (in the ChanChan forum). This time however, I feel like she is portraying the character exactly how it has been written. I respect the opinion of those who say they cannot connect to her character yet but for me, she came into her own and clicked with me from the start and especially with the last episode.

Nice post!

The violence never bothered me, I have seen a lot worse. Especially being a South Indian, our films have so much violence that my eyes are used to gore lol. Also 1.5 is a good starting TRP and I agree with what you wrote about Paro's character as well.

The one thing I can't agree with completely is how openminded the forum is. I was once attacked when I was constructively criticizing something, and I know that I wasn't being rude at all. I don't see the need to jump at members as long as they are well behaved in criticizing something, but at the same time I've also seen a lot of bashing posts that are pointless and just rude.
Can someone link me to the promo where Rudra offers her water? I haven't seen it.

Thanks for your post...and I think that happens sometimes because fans are apprehensive about who the criticism is coming from. There are many with agendas who have decided before even watching the show that they are against it and they come here only to criticize it at any given opportunity. But you were probably misunderstood.

And here's the promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSQalgtp57Q

I couldn't have said it better, atleast! Completely agree with you. I would only like to say this to some people, this is a fictional show and watch it like one. There's absolutely no need to bring up all kinds of reasons to bash Sanaya and her character or anything she's a huge part of. Whether haters believe it or not, it's Sanaya they have a problem with, like they say..the more popular you get the more evil eyes you have. But in Sanaya's case by god's grace, the girl has million lovers and like a handful of haters.

Thanks Ragz, you're so sweet and I agree with you completely! 🤗

Thanks for the link, and yeah that's true especially because of people's past experiences so I can't exactly blame them either. Overall though, this forum is pretty tolerant of other's POVs in comparison to other forums.

Excellent post, and agree with all you said ... especially the point about the TRPs ...

TRPs: It baffles me to see some of the most unoriginal and boring shows topping the charts when a well-produced and innovative show (for Indian TV) like 24 starring Anil Kapoor gets very low ratings. It tells you that the TRPs are not an accurate representation of the quality of a show.

And when new innovative concepts don't succeed on TV based on the TRP yardstick, audiences and critics blame the makers for not experimenting. 24 was an experiment, and it didn't attract TRPs, yet it was one of the most well made shows on Indian TV in recent times ... fortunately Colors seems to be in the mood to continue the experiment and is already planning a second season. I hope Rangrasiya turns out to be another trendsetter ... although I do hope it gets the TRPs also 😛 ...

The real story has not started yet, so far we have just been seeing the prologue. A strong base for the story is important, and it's better for it to build up slowly and steadily and people to get attracted to the story and the narrative. Also the lead characters have just been introduced, their layers are yet to emerge. Sanaya did take some time to slip into the role of Paro ... she said so herself ... not surprising, when the role is such a complete contrast to both her own personality and the roles she has played recently. But by week two, she was definitely at ease, and on Friday, she nailed it. We've seen very little of Ashish so far ... and it's been so far, so good. The leads have had one scene between them so far, and the chemistry was already palpable ... both are excellent actors so we can expect no less.

A cross border love story with an army man as hero ... and people were not expecting violence? It's been advertised as a guns and roses story ... baffles me why people were surprised at the violence. The show never promised to be a saas bahu love story or a rom com. And the violence was too filmy to be taken very seriously anyway.

Agree with you about the forum too ... considering the number of Sanaya criticising posts that have been made, and NOT been shut down or degenerated into full scale bashing, I think this forum has been pretty peaceful so far. 😆

Thank you Diya!! You've said it all eloquently...the way the show has been promoted from day one, with the first poster and promos, why would anyone be surprised to see the "violence"? And I use that term loosely because it's not even THAT bad!

It's a 9:30 pm show, which I'm assuming is another big hint that the show is meant for the adults. That's why I didn't get the big deal about the Rudra-Laila "love scene" either...again I use that term loosely because it was hardly too sensual for TV or something.

We want Indian TV to be progressive yet we oppose to such things. I hope Colors sticks to experimenting with shows like 24 and RR but I also want the ratings too as you said haha! I'm sure that will come as the story begins to unfold...next week looks exciting, finally Paro and Rudra will come face to face...I've been waiting to see their next interaction for too long now.

Well written post 👏. Even i really didnot get what people are complaining regarding Violence . Its need for the Plot of the show, what they are showing is not new our screens. The show had just started , let them unfold the tracks and then Judge the show, Deciding the fate of the show by Seeing 2 or 3 epi is totally unfair. Lets we enjoy the show with Positive felling .😊
And more important RUDRA is a border Officer so, fight sequence is much need. HE cannot go there and shake Hands with the Enemies and have a cup of tea.

But as per forum, I have said this before too
we need more tolerance
most people think that a post which criticizes the show is bashing
no it is not
people can bring out their opinions and that is why a forum exists
it can't be blind worship of the show and castr
too much of adulation and no criticism can be dangerous
moreover not all those who criticize belong to a fan base of her previous show
people should get out of that hang up
also enough focus should be given to wanting more for Paro as a character
Wanting more for sanaya as an actress
I see people obsessed with 'hot scenes' be it parud or larud
why do people want to just exercise their sexual fantasies through a show?
isn't the show also about the role and story?
i have never understood this aspect of not only this forum but all forums of sanaya's show
it is as if she is some object who has to fulfill our romantic fantasies with different heroes
what about wanting accolades for her role and talent?
isn't that much more important?
On the whole the forum sometimes sends out the wrong signals to makers, like it did in her previous show which lost track in six months and wound up
much of it was also due to similar fan demands for hotness and not story progression

agree with you completely.

Very true...if it was only adulation and no criticism, the forum would be redundant and boring.

Everyone is free to post opposing views here. I certainly welcome it, because it gives us an opportunity to debate. I don't see fans name-calling, spamming or getting the thread to shut down just because it is criticizing their favorite show, character or actor. I haven't seen that happen even once on this forum.

See this thread for example: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/rangrasiya/3881855/i-feel-something-is-missing-in-rr. I don't see anyone jumping down the TM's throat. They accepted it politely and gave their reasons for disagreeing. I used this thread as an example because I just saw it on the first page. There are many, many more similar to this. Everyone here is pretty well-behaved for a popular #1 forum.

Of course the majority will disagree with the opposing view, which is expected, because they are here since they like the show and the actors on it. Just because they disagree, that doesn't mean they are intolerant.

If you have some free time, you should browse this forum because...yes there is a lot of chatter about hot scenes and chemistry but there are also many thoughtful threads about characters, the dynamics of their relationship, how we want them to develop, their feelings, the storylines, etc.
