To begin with, A Very Happy Diwali and New Year to everyone smiley1 Hope it’s a wonderful one for everyone.

So today was the conclusion of Saakshi and Kiran’s cameo in Kyunki. I know there’s a scene in the precap between Parvati and Noyna that’s full of subtext; but I feel it would air early in the episode tomorrow and then we bid our favourite Bahu farewell… though I hope she returns yet again because damn… way to make a girl emotional, Saakshi! It honestly felt like no time had passed as you so effortlessly slipped into Parvati’s character yet again and reminded us why you were so loved and adored.

Truly, Ekta couldn’t have given a more befitting and beautiful tribute to Kahaani on the completion of 25 years than this. Hats off to whoever wrote these episodes at team Balaji.

As I was thinking of penning this post once I got done watching the episode post the Pooja at home, it struck me after all this time that the title tracks of both Kahaani and Kyunki, (which admit it we all can hum without any effort even now perfectly) begin with the word “Rishton” - Rishton ki pooja jahaan ho and Rishton ke bhi roop badalte hai.

Today as Parvati returns the papers to Tulsi of Baa’s property, it felt like a befitting ode to the beautiful bond shared between Baa and Tulsi. We know how Baa was not exactly valued or treated well by her own bahus, it was her Pautra Vadhu as we call it in Gujarati, the wife of the grandson, that finally gave Baa the much needed love and respect that elders seek from their kids the more they age over anything else.

Though it felt sorta weird to watch Baa’s scene with Parth because I genuinely don’t recall it being in S1 and felt it was AI generated which… I personally don’t find ethical tbh, but that’s my opinion… it also didn’t make sense because S1 cliffhanger ends with Parvati telling Tulsi she has raised Parth… who should have been an adult back then too but here Parth was interacting with Parvati in a flashback as if he had only heard about her from Tulsi before this meeting… (they really have done a zinger here)

Anyways, leaving the bizarre question aside as to why did Baa entrust the property to Parth to begin with, when she could have simply asked Hemant, her grandson who happens to be a lawyer or any of her other grandsons or great grandsons to draft a will of hers wherein this property was always meant to be entrusted to Tulsi, who would later become responsible for it turning into a school… the property going to Tulsi makes so much more sense than for it to go to Parth or any other person in the family and especially Pari… because boy was that part satisfying…

Kyunki as a show wouldn’t have been what it was without the beautiful bond between Baa and Tulsi. They were kindred spirits and the bond between them was of genuine love and affection that was reciprocated and appreciated both ways. It makes so much sense that Baa would trust her most precious thing - her home - to the one person who was always the child of her heart even if she was not related to her by blood.

For Baa, Tulsi was never her Bahu… she was her person - the one who saw her, loved her, talked to her and respected her as well as took care of her, who adored her and who was always there for her without any complaints or so much as a whine. Tulsi was the one with whom Baa knew her legacy, the one she created with so much love alongside her husband was secure. Baa knew, Tulsi would be the kind of woman who would raise her next generations in a way that Baa and Bapuji would be proud of them. That her great grandchildren and beyond would grow up with the kind of values, ethos, traditions that would keep the legacy of the family passed down through generations prior to Baa and from Baa to Tulsi alive in her future generations too. Baa didn’t see Tulsi as just another person in the family, but she saw her as the person who would ensure the heritage of the family lives on beyond assets and material possessions.

It was a befitting ode to the relationship that truly cemented and laid the foundations of the journey of Kyunki.

What makes it sweeter is that Baa’s letter sealed the fate of the property for good too. Pari darling better start buttering up Papa dearest to give her something else to “secure her and Ranvijay’s future - abroadas Papa will so not now dare ever raise the topic of passing on the same to his brat of a daughter as he did so foolishly before.

As an added bonus, if we stop thinking too much about the canon of S1, logic and reason that makes the head hurt if we focus on the things that I already mentioned with regards to Parth above…. Parth also seems like a good kid; a son who seems very much like his parents in his values and thoughts. Someone Karan and Nandini would be proud of for sure… so here’s hoping he sticks around and gets his parents and siblings to return home too because Karan Nandini are missed by us viewers as it is and more importantly, they would so be a welcome relief to watch over Noyna, her idiotic and lame niece and most importantly Pari and the doofus who has somehow managed to hoodwink this absolute buffoon into a relationship.

At this point, I am even willing to watch paint dry over Pari and her scenes, especially ones with Mihir… and I think the sentiment might be shared by most people as well.
