As for being in bed in 9.30 you should see the HW kids have in India
the poor kids are not even done by 9.30
the come back play fr some time and have tons of HW some of which needs the help of mom or Dad
who are again able to give the time after 9
so, you see I stick by my point
it is not possible in india for a litte older kids to sleep by 9.30
they are home by 4, have some class or the other till 6.30, play till at least 7 and then they are loaded with HW and revisions
unfortunately life is tougher for Indian kids
In US there were very few HW to do

Hving said that most kids I know including my son are tucked in by 10.00
so my point of 9-10 as prime time remains

i am agreeing with the HW part, its true
@red bold, very true

NB: I get your point. The censorship in foreign countries is very strict. I know that shows with adult content is often aired after 9 pm.

Sadly in India there is no censorship. And very parents parents are strict about censoring what their children are watching. We have read about many incidences on IF itself where many members have confessed to finding it difficult to watch an intimate scene with their parents. Censorship rules are very lax in India. People can get away with everything.

I remember when I was in High School my mum and I had an argument over a show called the Bold and The Beautiful. I wanted to watch it. I was old enough to watch it but I wasn't allowed. And we never had access to internet back then. We had a huge showdown and my aunt who had come down from the US supported my mum saying it was not appropriate for young girls.

I remember me wanting to watch Kahin To Hoga. This show was a rage back then but I wasn't allowed to watch it initially.

Censorship is very much a requirement. There are things a young mind can misinterpret and that could color your mind indefinitely. In India, we really need strong censorship rules. There is rampant crime everywhere. It is time we educate the mind and use the media sensibly and not simply as a means of titillation.

I am one of the lot who found the violence a bit overdone in the 'smashing to pulp' scene. Rudra is an army man here, and violence is expected. But I have issues with mis-interpretation of the armed forces. ST has a rather skewed idea of a soldier's psyche. In order to establish the character, they do not need to get carried away showing the ruthlessness of an army man. The armed forces already have a tough job. Let's not add to their woes by coloring people's perception.

Some people are of the opinion that, violence in RR is a deterrent factor for watching it especially because at that time children are awake... and lot has been said whether children should be awake at 9.30 or not and also on Indian vs. foreign lives.

But my point is, why do we even go there?? I mean have those mothers (who thinks RR has too many violence to be watched by children) ever watched what their children watch?? Like, Power Rangers, Ben10 etc?? These have more violence than RR or any Indian TV show has. Even in India, there are shows specially made for children like Chota bheem, Little Krishna, and more.. RR definitely does not show more violence than those..

So to me it looks like that identifying violence as a negative element in RR is nothing but an artificial problem.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all your replies! Just one note I'll make- my post was strictly my opinion, my viewpoints on those few topics, you are absolutely free to disagree.

Everyone should be free to criticize the show and everyone should be free to defend the show. I just don't like the labels put on people when they do one or the other...calling someone a basher for offering constructive criticism is as insulting as saying the forum is a shrine for defending their favorites. The latter would be true if the fans were intolerant to opposing views as has happened in the past. But here, I've seen the majority of the fans accept opposing views and respond maturely to defend it, which they have the right to do. I haven't seen them resort to name-calling, spamming or getting the thread shut down just because they don't agree. As long as both sides do it in a respectful way, there is no need for all these labels. Peace! ❤️
