Paro seems attracted to rudra... He has shed blood for her and she is not able o forget that...rudra... Not sure... But he seemed to react to the news of her marriage!!

The thakur is getting blacker and blacker...

I think the protector and the tormentor will interchange roles for some time in Paro's mind ...

She does seem attracted to Rudra ... or maybe it was just a first deep impression ... a girl can't be indifferent to a guy who saves your virtue and your life both at first meeting ... especially when he looks rather hot doing so! 😆

What about him? Is he attracted? Or was that arrested look at the news of her marriage all in the call of duty?

Yep, thakur seems black through and through ... no grey shades that I can see. But the actor is very good, and supposed to be discriminatory about his roles .. so let's see.

What I am loving in the show diya is the overall intrigue in the story ...we donot know how will each person react , hell we havn't been introduced to all the characters as yet . Unlike yesterday which was a spectacular episode in itself , this was " an ongoing story " episode which is much needed in a daily show

Their are so many dynamics in different relationships ..
We saw various relationships ...
Rudra - his father : complicated but with some affection
Paro- mamisa : beautiful and poignant
Thakur - bindi : dictatorial , arrogant
Thakur - thakurain : mysterious

The characters of rudra and paro are getting defined slowly. The 2 scenes which stayed in my mind was ...the ghost of a smile on rudra's face when he realises that his father is not picking the phone .their is affection there ..in all the hurt and crudety in their language / behaviour ..their is love .

The second being the poignant scene between mamisa and paro ...lovely and I loved the way it has been shot in lantern light ...paro is this beautiful , quiet simple girl who is hurting a lot inside and has internalised her pain . From the outside she is all sweet and smiling but inside is dealing with her nightmares and fears.

One more thing I noticed today was sanaya's voice modulation ..her voice is a lot deeper in this show , their is a theraav in it ...I am liking it 😊

Fantastic first week of rangrasiya . I will watch all the 5 episodes together over the weekend ...

Yep, Guinea ... the explosive dramatic introductory scenes done, the show seems to be settling down into the basic story telling mode ... or starting to. I think the actual story will start next week, with the marriage and the gun smuggling racket coming to light ...

Rudra- his father relationship is very sensitively etched ... two similar harsh men, without the softening influence of a woman in their lives ... the bitterness the father feels has only grown with time ...
He did not become mother and father to Rudra ... the reverse ... Rudra now seems to be the parent. There is a sort of affection between them, but like all macho men who are brought up to believe that feeling emotions is being 'soft' and womanly, they don't show it. Rudra has lived with the harshness, so he does see the care behind it ... he has lived with his father's bitterness and sense of betrayal, and he feels the same sense of abandonment, so he doesn't resent it. He only resents the mother.

Paro ... excessively shy and timid? She has grown up with loads of affection all around ... from her maami-sa ... from the Rajmata ... even the more formal fatherly care from the thakur ... yet she hasn't been able to shake off the nightmares of her past.
Me too loved the maami-Paro scene and the subtle shades Paro showed there, the longing for her parents, which she never expresses ...
They brought in the doll again ... so the doll has not been forgotten ... it will surface at some point.

Sanaya's voice modulation is one of her strongest acting points ... here she has changed the pitch and tone of her voice along with the dialect ... well done!!! 👏

Di, detail wala discussion will happen later but i want to add a one small point.. It is possible to faint while standing.. Personal experience of fainting countless times in school morning assembly, so much that I was finally excused out of it..😆😆 Its a different thing there was no Rudra around to catch poor me.. Instead it was my classmates, all girls..😭😭

Deeps ... faint while standing ... yes! I've also fainted multiple times ... but stay standing after fainting is the tough one! 😆

Though I guess if there was a tough Rudra to catch me, I might have tried to stay standing a while longer too! 😆

Wow Diya your posts are getting even more poetic - lovely 😃

So we get a continuation of their first meeting - a standing faint which I believe is possible from experience, but there's never a hot BSD officer around when you need him in my case😆

Mine too ... what a sad life we have ! 😆

The second half of their first meeting is less explosive than the first half - but the way their eyes keep locking in mirrors especially is poetry
The Rudra Paro interactions have been written very subtly ... keeping in mind that BOTH the characters are quiet ... not the usual bubbly girl-strong silent guy, or flamboyant guy-quiet girl ... here still waters run deep on both sides ...

I sense the emotional man under the tough hard exterior of Rudra, he looks at Paro when her marriage is mentioned did he feel a stirring in the place where his heart should be?
Why does he let the girls go? Does he believe in Paro's innocence, will it lead to a further sense of betrayal from him later?
I think it will ... it will reinforce his dad's words, never trust a beautiful woman. The emotional man under the tough exterior is there, we've already been shown glimpses ... the question is, how soon Paro makes a hole in the tough exterior and reaches the heart locked inside. Has she made a dent already? Or is it still only duty for him?

Also with his father despite their dysfunctional relationship, he still makes him food and calls him up
Now I understood what Ashish said about staring out of the window for hours , it fits Rudra perfectly

The Rudra -father relationship is a typical MAN relationship, when both men believe that it's 'soft' to show emotions, so they never display their affection. The depiction is a bit extreme for dramatic purposes, of course 😛 Also the betrayal and bitterness still hold sway over Rudra's dad ... so like I said, it seems Rudra has taken over the parenting role.

The alcohol too is another outlet for the emotional man to forget himself- it numbs his mind just like it numbed his arm from the bullet wound ( shirtless image very welcome in week one!)

A complex silent (and hot) man

I loved the focus on paro and rudra's past and how their fates are intertwined

Paro is struggling in today's episode- what is bothering her? The fire which brings back painful memories? New found stirrings in her heart for her saviour? But she is meant for another isn't she? She is already tied to someone else? Maybe it's just gratitude how can she feel anything else for the man who symbolises what she has been taught to hate, the brutal murderer of her parents - yet then why did she caress his blood on her blouse?
The nightmares continue for her- saviour or destroyer? Why the hatred in his eyes?

Paro's character is complex ... on the surface, simple and sweet ... but her demons are hidden, and may erupt with even greater force than Rudra's ... IF the cv's take it that way, of course! Another avatar of Parvati is Durga, or Shakti ... I hope, while naming the characters, they remembered that.

A mention for the other characters - a loving mamisa- bestows another gift from Paro's mother to her
(Good thing Paro likes the dress as she will have to wear it at a lot of promos, press launches and banners!) the bubbly friend who dares praises the BSD

I have a feeling Sanaya is going to be sick and tired of that dress very soon!!! 😆

Hot landlordji is now getting darker and darker, such anger at the BSD, disregard for human life once again as he threatens to kill Bindi, but he covers up with a fatherly hand on Paro' shoulder
And Thakurain - how much does she know? She seems to hate the BSD too - I had a wild thought - maybe she is their informer too or was?

Thakur sa seems to be all black as of now ... a wolf in sheep's clothing ... affectionate on the surface, he says all the right things to reassure thakurain and Paro ... but I get the feeling Paro was disturbed at his extreme rage about the BSD. Have to wait for the story to unfold ... it's very intriguing ... can't wait!!

I just love this show and as we got the introductions to the characters this week, we will see the story slowly start to unfold next week, with the wedding from hell, which rips apart Paro's dreams just as the bullet rips through her husbands body - honestly bring on Monday !

Can't they run this show 7 days a week? Mind you then I'd have even less of a life!

Diya any chance you could translate the lyrics to the song I'd love to understand it properly

Will do ... I'll add it to the main post. Lovely take, Anita, thanks for posting! 😃

Nice write-up Diya.
I wanted to wait to the end of week to post just to see how it would unfold. The show has thankfully kept interest all week and the story is intriguing. What is nice so far is that many important characters have been introduced but a little at a time, nothing has been rushed, yet they have kept pace without dragging too much. Everybody seems to have a back story and that is interesting. And we have yet to see two important characters - Laila and the character played by Ananya Khare, so something to look forward to.
The cinematography is good and although the direction could be better at times (the fainting or running through fire or single handedly fighting all goons), there have been many lovely moments like the doll throwing, the shine of the mirrors, Rudra shielding Paro, the look in the mirror etc.
I think all the main cast has been chosen well. Ashish has been good in his body language and his expressions and I am glad. the show has a strong male character so we know there will be a story of him as well. The Thakur is also good; like him as the wolf in sheep's clothing. I have so wanted to see Sanaya in an emotional role where she has little dialogues and I am glad she is like that - there is a certain 'tehraav' to her which I wanted to see. I am still concerned that Paro may not be written as well as Rudra is - if this is an intense and edgy love story, the writers must pay attention to both. Too early to say, but would really like Sanaya's talent to be exploited and for her to do well.
Hoping the show doesn't lose momentum and doesn't fall victim to TRPs - it has much potential.

Another good episode today, it was a sort of a build up for next week when the actual story begins.
Paro finally is able to see the face of the man that comes in her nightmares everyday which is none other than the one who protected her today. Whether he will protect her later is yet to be seen!
Loved the Paro- Mamisa scene. Sanaya was brilliant in that scene. It almost had me in tears!
Paro has already affected Rudra.. he seemed very taken aback after finding out about her marriage, though covered it up straight away.
Can't wait for next week,, looking forward for the marriage!

Yep, good start, setting the stage and introducing the chief characters ... Thakur, Rudra, Paro ... and the past that seems to link them.

Paro's nightmares ... and her reality ... Rudra's role in her life is a double edged sword ... protector and foe both.

Rudra did seem affected by the news of her marriage ... he is a tough nut to crack though ... waiting for the roller coaster ride!
